No Eaton stories, but I did meet "Sweet" Stan Lane a few yrs ago. He stopped by our store in Greensboro when I worked there and bought a home gym for his gf. He was still in good shape and we did talk a little about wrestling. He was very disappointed in how it had changed, but had good things to say about his time in the NWA with the Midnight Express and the fans in the Carolinas.
Didn't Bobby Eaton have a beef with Arn Anderson back in the day over something? I believe it was over how Eaton felt that the titles were not being distributed equally in the NWA and the Horsemen had all the titles.

Yeah, I seem to remember Droz in an interview claiming that a fan had thrown a drink into the ring and the liquid caused D'Lo to slip. There are also some claims that Droz's baggy shirt caused problems for D'Lo holding onto him properly during the move.
I remember reading Foley's account of the incident in his book: he said D'Lo felt so damn bad about it, while Droz - lying on a stretcher - told him not to blame himself; that accidents happen. Droz sounds like a classy guy.
He actually is a very stand up guy.

Here's the recent update on this "all hype" idiot:
Two men have been charged after a man walked into an Erin Mills bank yesterday to tell staff he was being extorted.
The local businessman entered a TD bank in Mississauga just after 11:30 a.m. and told staff a group of men had demanded that he withdraw a large amount of money from his account.
As a result of the tip, the Peel Regional Police tactical squad was called out to a nutrition supplement store the victim owns on Glen Erin Dr. Police subsequently arrested and charged two men.
Gregory Kovacs, 41, of Niagara and Jonathan Sherwood, 32 of Hamilton are each charged with one count of extortion.
Both men are scheduled to appear this morning in a Brampton courtroom for a bail hearing. Greg is out on bail for now.

Some news and notes:
There is a new ring announcer working WWE Superstars and her name is Eden Stiles, a WWE developmental Diva. They also used her to announce FCW shows with Raquel Diaz.
The latest update on CM Punk’s status with WWE is that he is still planning on taking a leave of absence once his contract expires this year. Those close to the RAW Superstar say he feels like he hasn’t been treated like a “top guy,” which will factor in his decision. Vince may try to sway him by giving him the WWE title as he has done with stars in the past to keep Punk around.

"Lanny Poffo discussed the death of his brother, former WWF champion Randy Savage, with The Brighthouse Bay 9 News in Florida. Poffo discussed learning of Savage's accident while traveling to a booking in California. In an airport in between flights, Poffo received a message from Largo Medical in Florida, that his brother had been in an autop accident. When Poffo returned the call, they put him through to Savage's wife, who explained to him that Randy had passed on. Poffo noted that Savage had told his wife he wasn't feeling well and thought he might pass out just before he collapsed while driving his Jeep Wrangler. Poffo said that he considered the way Savage passed "a beautiful way" to die, comparing it to someone who fights valiantly against something like cancer for years with no quality of life. Poffo stated that Lynn, who suffered lacerations to the head in the car wreck, was a hero for grabbing the wheel and steering the car, which had gone into oncoming traffic, into a tree. He noted that she likely saved the lives of a motorcyclist and a bus. Poffo noted that he was so happy that they had gotten married the year before and recited a poem he wrote for their wedding. Poffo also discussed Randy's run with the WWF, why those who criticize Vince McMahon for not being "so smart" as a promoter don't know what they are talking about, Savage's marriage to Elizabeth and much more. Poffo also noted that WWF's original idea was to give Savage a "buxom blonde" as his manager but Savage pitched Elizabeth for a screen test in the role and she nailed it. Poffo was asked about the divorce. He commented that, "I think he did a great job moving on. He hit bottom and moved on. How in love was he? How would I know? How would you know? One of the great things about Randy - one of the definitive things - when life gave him a cruel blow, he bounced back with ferocity, better than ever. I think he did well...." Poffo said that Savage always looked after him and actually came up with the Genius persona that led to Poffo main eventing in WWF. In a never disclosed injury, Poffo noted that Savage had chronic pain in the neck and after filming the Spider-Man film, was unable to get out of bed the next day following a series of bumps where he was spiked on top of his head. Poffo noted that he liked the WWE tribute video "a lot" and didn't feel it was too little, too late. He said that Savage knew that Vince McMahon and the WWF made both him and Poffo. He said that he wasn't going to deal with the negatives and was taking the high road. He said that WWF gave Savage the break baseball never did." Officially for me is when it became WCW and they had Flair cut his hair. I was a little down on it before that, as for me it really changed too much when it became WCW, but the Flair hair deal was the nail in the coffin for me. There was some decent wrestling after that, guys like Muta, Sting, etc... but it just had a more cartoonish feel.
Oh man....I couldn't agree more. Especially with that Flair cutting his hair and Black Scorpion bit. I think Ole Anderson was on crack with that decision.

WWE released Michael Tarver and Jacob Novak over the weekend, PWInsider.com has confirmed. Tarver was on the original cast of NXT and was a founding member of the Nexus. After he was dropped from the group, he was brought back for several appearances that saw him standing in the back as the beginning of a re-introduction that never fully happened.
Jacob Novak was part of the most recent cast of NXT, including a mini-feud with William Regal, before being eliminated first from the season.
And there's more coming....
