2  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Sting signs with WWE on: April 14, 2014, 05:41:48 PM

And it sounds like the guy's got nothing to lose.
I honestly don't see the point. How does he fit in?
3  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: BREAKING NEWS ULTIMATE WARRIOR DIES AT 54 on: April 14, 2014, 05:40:14 PM

Yes.
Apparently, heart disease ran in his Dad's side of the family.
Thats ok...the media will blame "steroids".
4  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Jeff Jarrett Officially Announces Global Force Wrestling Promotion: on: April 14, 2014, 03:34:06 PM

They really have that kind of money?

Jerry does plus connections. I would imagine they'd want to get the ball going first for a few years. Probably sign some former TNA stars.
5  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Sting signs with WWE on: April 14, 2014, 03:32:22 PM

I recall Borden bluntly claiming in an interview his concerns over how Vince would use him. This was when the old man was systematically burying a lot of the WCW talent after he purchased the company around 2002.
I remember this too. Frankly...I don't blame Sting. I would hold Vince up if I were him.

Any tv deal yet?
Knowing the Jarretts and their unlimited source of cash it will come.
7  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Sting signs with WWE on: April 14, 2014, 03:23:55 PM
I just mean that overall he's no Bret Hart in the ring and he's not Ric Flair on the mic.  A solid performer with a great gimmick though.
Hes made his mark in the business and has become very successful earning 1mil per year since 1996 and 500 g's per year prior to that which by pro wrestling standards is very good. Hes always been squeaky clean. Never read or heard anything bad about him and he did it all OUTSIDE WWE. You can bet your bottom dollar that when/if Vince signed him (I'll believe it when I see it) you can bet its for big bucks. Strictly an ego move by Vince to sign the one guy who flat out refused to work for him and turned down may a  offer in the past from WWE.
8  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: DDP = Miracle Worker on: April 13, 2014, 04:03:04 PM

It's been said that Kimberly was a very nice person backstage until they promoted her to "Head Nitro Girl." Roll Eyes At that point, she went on a huge ego trip.

There's a popular story floating around that Scott Steiner "tuned up" both Dallas and Kim after they got Tammy Sytch fired from WCW. I don't know if what the Page's said was true or not, but it resulted in Sunny's termination.
That girl (Sunny) found her way into more trouble and drama in such a short time than anyone I know of.
Scott Steiner threatened her and DDP with a bitch slapping.

I would say about year.. mid south wrestling as the blade runners..
Then they moved their separate ways...
They both did very well for themselves and became very successful.
10  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Jeff Jarrett Officially Announces Global Force Wrestling Promotion: on: April 13, 2014, 08:09:46 AM

Why did the Jarrett's ever sell TNA to Dixie? I never got the details.
My guess is so that they could use the revenue to fund their own organization where they have 100% control
11  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Sting signs with WWE on: April 12, 2014, 03:25:12 PM
I've always viewed him as very overrated.
Hes had great matches with flair...cactus jack...and vader.
12  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Jeff Jarrett Officially Announces Global Force Wrestling Promotion: on: April 12, 2014, 10:26:49 AM
And unlike Dixie..the Jarretts know what theyre doing.
13  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Sting signs with WWE on: April 12, 2014, 10:25:47 AM
It will definitely be a part time deal for big money. Wonder if he will actually wrestle or be an ambassador like Hogan.
14  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: WWE Network doing a 2hr special - tribute to the ultimate warrior on: April 11, 2014, 07:44:24 AM
They added a warrior section on the network with some matches including some
He had with sting as the blade runners and as the dingo warrior in WCCW.
I loved his runs with Rick Rude

Herd let's Flair walk, but green-lights Busty Rhodes' "Shockmaster."
And people question why WCW failed. Its like putting a homeless person in a high end fine dine restaurant.  Its destined to fail.
17  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Wyatt's over big time on: April 11, 2014, 01:29:35 AM
FUCK THE WHOLE RUNNELS FAMILY!!!
Polkadots and all
18  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Warrior and Attitude Era on: April 11, 2014, 01:27:43 AM

Those figures are pitiful compared to what they did 15 years ago. I can't believe it's been that long already!
Especially if you were on the "A" show
19  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Divas vs. Knockouts: on: April 11, 2014, 01:26:36 AM
They should all just stick to being arm candy, and posing for playboy. Nobody wants to see them wrestle.
Pretty much
20  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Taker vs. Lesnar (threads merged): on: April 11, 2014, 01:26:05 AM

Just another common gem from the brilliant mind of the common man.
A Jim Herd special:)
21  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Taker vs. Lesnar (threads merged): on: April 10, 2014, 06:23:35 PM

Give me total creative control and I'll book you a "Shockmaster" think about it.

Fuck you, Dusty.
Oh God......The Shockmaster.....and that ridiculous helmet.
22  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Wyatt's over big time on: April 10, 2014, 06:22:07 PM

You've seen the story I posted about his "demands" for a local Indy promotion?
I certainly have.
23  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Warrior and Attitude Era on: April 10, 2014, 06:21:28 PM

You mean reinvent him ala "Hollywood Hogan?"
Yup...only hurdle is it won't work on PG programming. WWE generates huge revenue with its PG content because it can't get it through arena sales. They are only averaging 2-5 thousand on house shows and 9-15,000 on live RAW. That my friend is straight from "the source". Thats why you see all this Scooby Doo and Muppet nonsense.
24  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Warrior and Attitude Era on: April 10, 2014, 05:39:46 PM

The feuds, yes. Their build-ups lasted for months - some of them even close to year. But, once they had their big match...POOF!! It was all over. There was never any "part 2."
Think Piper, Bundy, Killer Kahn, One Man Gang, and the guys you mentioned above; with the exception of Andre, Hogan seldom worked another program with any of them. That's why the Hogan character wore out. After he did his paradigmatic mow-down, they had to bring in someone new to feed him, or at least build up someone to pose a threat.
The act got tired, fans saw through it, and that's why Hogan tanked in WCW until they re-invented his character.
Bullseye...and thats exactly what they need to do with Cena.
