Are you saying Baldwin is his mentzer, 27 years later?

I doubt Arnold fears Baldwin, unless he's wearing a pizza.
352  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Shawn Ray Gives Kamali Props? on: January 16, 2007, 01:38:25 PM
I doubt it- that sounds more like "He's still banging his head against the wall, but it's good he hasn't stopped banging."
353  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: King Kamali has a SMOKING HOT WIFE!!!!!!!! MOUTH-WATERING PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: January 12, 2007, 12:17:55 PM
I'm just a fan who wants to reveal the real king to people, for too long have nerds on here portrayed King as this stuck-up, arrogant cocky person, when he's actually the nicest, kindest, coolest person I've ever met. I met him the the O and we talked for a while about the O and placings and stuff. He really is the coolest cat who loves his fans and treats them great. King is a true credit to the sport and great ambassador to the sport. Look for him to crack the O top 10 this year Cool

Anyone have that video of King elbowing George Farrah at that show last year?  Yeah, real credit to the sport. Tongue

Real Estate value and property taxes had more to do with the budget surplus than anything Arnold has done- as the real estate boom cycles down, those property tax revenues stand to decline as well, and then we will be sitting on a tremendous deficit brought on by inflated budget projections.
355  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Schwarzenegger is a a turncoat! on: January 10, 2007, 05:08:22 PM
I'd like to think that those we elect use their own values to make decisions, as opposed to always looking to the public (read:polls) for what to do next.  I might not always agree with what they do, but at least I know they're willing to stand up for themselves, even if it's not popular to do so.

I don't see how Arnold wins either way, though- either he panders (my opinion) or he becomes a victim of his own hubris (GWB)- glad I'm not a politician.
356  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Schwarzenegger is a a turncoat! on: January 10, 2007, 04:59:11 PM
You must realize that Arnold has bigger plans. He has no intension on staying at state level, he's ready for the big prize - the president. He is the kind of man that is always reaching for something higher, and although he's not legally eligible to be the president, I assure you it's possible. He is doing what he does best - succeeding. And in this case it means pandering to the voters. There is no politician who doesn't do the same thing, at least not one that's going to survive. You must do what your voting base wants, and there's nothing embarrassing about that. In all reality, he is doing an outstanding job considering his job consists of keeping the people happy. Not many people could have pulled off what he has. He is a staunch Republican that became the governor of the most liberal state in our country. On top of that, he got reelected. The man is a walking success story.

I'm not demeaning his success, and I have no doubt he's after a larger prize; however, Arnold ran as a pro business, fiscal conservative with a centrist social agenda, which is what I believe propelled him to office.  I'm not seeing a lot of fiscal conservatism in the plans he continues to announce, and it's certainly not going to inspire new business to come to California, outside of companies providing infrastructure improvements, i.e. construction.
357  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Schwarzenegger is a a turncoat! on: January 10, 2007, 04:48:54 PM
What's embarassing is your lack of comprehension of his core values, which are now on display. The things he's doing now-environment, health care, infrastructure-are completely consistent with what he's always been about.

So Arnold was either pandering in the beginning of his term, or he's pandering now...which is it?  Either way, it should be embarrassing.
358  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Schwarzenegger is a a turncoat! on: January 10, 2007, 04:38:51 PM
Republicans in California are more liberal than Southern Democrats. California is a huge welfare state, and if you want to survive politically, you can't pass conservative laws. Every time he tries to pass something that doesn't favor socialism, he drops in the polls. There's really not much he can do if he expects to stay in office.

Therein lies the problem- staying in office by pandering as opposed to providing real leadership is, or ought to be, embarrassing.  Arnold gained popularity during his first year in office by bypassing the legislature when they wouldn't play ball.  He overextended on his ballot initiatives the following year and got smacked down for it, but I respected him more at the time for standing up for something he said he believed in.
359  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Schwarzenegger is a a turncoat! on: January 10, 2007, 11:39:50 AM
I have to agree- Arnold has changed his positions with the political winds every year he has been in office.  Monster disappointment.  Won't leave much of a legacy at this rate, though, and trying to make everyone happy just makes no one happy.  Of course, Maria could be a big part of the problem, too.

Klaus Doring is the pinnacle of human perfection-stop the hate.

And why are we even discussing this?  Is it December again and no one told me?
361  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Is it OK for a black man to be racist against whity but not the other way around on: January 09, 2007, 12:34:31 PM
My wife teaches 2nd grade and they're studying MLK for his birthday next week.  When she explained how there were white people who didn't like black people, and King was trying to change that, a little black kid raised his hand and said, "Just like my mom hates white people! She talks about them all the time!"

My wife told the mom about it- she was pretty horrified. Grin Grin

Burned out his receptors, along with bad genetics and cheeseburgers.
364  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Do you think Jay is shaking in his shorts yet? on: December 28, 2006, 10:10:39 AM
I've never gotten the impression that the title was as important to Jay as the money- he's doing it for a living and to support his lifestyle- that's cool.  Even if he loses next year, he'll still get to advertise as Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler for life.
365  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: More STALLONE goodness from his pre ROCKY 6 Interviews!!! on: December 11, 2006, 10:40:12 AM
You've gotta check out the Sly Q&A's over at aintitcool.com- lots of comedy gold.  He's been taking questions and answering them for about ten days now.
366  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Night of Champions 91 & 93 on: November 22, 2006, 11:07:01 AM
I remember when they did it because they had all the competitors come out in a sheet and break a tombstone, except Yates, who came out in the sheet but refused to break a tombstone, feeling it was disrespectful to the WBF competitors.  Yates went on to win that show with a perfect score, BTW.

It can't be worse then #5- besides Rocky's always fun, and it's not like we watch the films for their realism.
368  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: What happened to Lex luger!!! on: October 31, 2006, 11:27:37 PM
When Miss Elizabeth OD'd, they found a ton of steroids in the house (I think he was distributing), and Lex got into all kinds of trouble--don't think he served any time though.  Anyway, the guy still does a little bit of wrestling; I know Sting when to bat for him a couple of times in TNA, but I don't think much has come of it.

Alves is the most overrated bodybuilder ever

I don't think Alves is overrated, but certainly not O material either (though I'd love to see it happen for the shock of it all).  If we're talking uncrowned Mr O, only one name should be used:

               Lee Labrada

King is so tall that sherpas frost his hair.
373  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Positive Bodybuilding Discussion & Talk / Re: David Dearth on: July 15, 2006, 12:57:36 PM
I do remember at the 2nd (and last) WBF show- Dearth was the first guy to come out on stage in shape after Eddie Robinson and several others embarassed themselves going natural- Dearth looked great, but got 4th behind Strydom, Quinn (Jim), and Berry DeMey (Monster gift).  I always liked his midsection- but then, that was normal in those days.
374  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Getbig's Favorite IFBB Pro - King Kamali 6 weeks out from Europa Super Show on: July 15, 2006, 12:41:07 PM
Say it with me- "I will not forget to train calves and forearms."
Other than that, and the gh gut, and the wide obliques, he looks pretty good.
375  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: achim albrecht on: July 14, 2006, 01:44:50 PM
He was going to be Brakkus in the WWF- they spent several weeks building him up before his debut, but I guess he was HORRIBLE in-ring, and was pulled pretty quick.  He has a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in Bret Hart: Wrestling with Shadows where he's at dinner with the Harts.

His physique may not look as competitive now, but in the pre-1993 Dorain era, he was a freakin' monster.  Nobody had seen anything like him before, and I have to think he could have done some damage had he stuck around.
