Good to see some more competitive powerlifters on here.

We have about 4 more that are in the works for getting their blue stars.

We recently had a large influx of members asking for blue stars.

C'mon now Wiggs. You know we are cool when we met. But seriously, I can always take a good laugh, which in fact happens here on GetBig. It reminds me of the good ol' days I used to post here while on the come up and people being nicer on here. I do recognize that when you're on top that you will have people that wanna see someone else succeed, so I do get it as its human nature. As far as the social media stuff. I'm just having fun just like you guys on here do at the athlete's expense so we kind of have it in common right?! I mean c'mon, I should be able to laugh at funny stuff too. Anyway, I'd like to thank everyone here for being cool, even when they say funny negative stuff. If people can understand that most basketball guys like me grew up talking smack they'd quickly understand where I'm coming from. Its never personal really, well sometimes as people do kind of take it there, so why not clap back on em and make them meltdown like you guys do here to each other. Seriously though, its been fun to now come one here, so Imma leave my account on for awhile and see how the interaction goes.

Phil,

Glad to have you around buddy.

Enjoy yourself and, as always, if you need anything, just send me a message.

Pay close attention and at the 1:01 mark, you can see Piana wearing a brace and limping down the block, which resulted from him pretending to wrestle with a 170lb Peruvian twink..

Here's the video of Piana getting destroyed by this beast (Check out the 5:05 mark to see Piana tear something and then the 6:15 mark to see him struggling to get off the stage):

I think this is getting old. Too obvious that its a "rub" in Basiles face.

Now, now... We have about 30 members that have now sent us requests for Blue Stars.

Some will not be approved and some already have been. WalterWhite has a very, very impressive record in power-lifting and provided everything we needed for verification.

That said, Ron is the person in charge of ultimately granting Blue Stars. I don't have the power to add them to anyone's profile.

Member "WalterWhite" has a very rich history in competitive power-lifting and has much to offer to those that are interested in both power-lifting and bodybuilding.

The guy is strong, real strong.

Congrats!

Here in New York City, the NYPD has taken things to an extreme.

For decades, the NYPD would always use the Internal Affairs division in order to rectify problems within the force. Due to the most recent (last 2 years) incidents, the Mayor's office has put together a separate task force that is here to police the police. They can no longer depend on internal affairs, because they've found that internal affairs simply brushes things under the rug while merely handing out a few 2-3 week suspensions at a time, but never makes as big of an issue as civilians would expect.

Up to this date, I've never had any problems with the NYPD. I've been treated well by close friends that are police officers and received various perks (mini-shield that identifies me as a family member to NYPD Detective and various PBA cards stemming from everything of that of a captain to officers).

All this taken into consideration, I've seen a large number of police brutality incidents over the course of the last 10 years. Sadly, 100% of the time it involves inner city African American males.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely...

34  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Steroids of The Future? on: July 13, 2014, 07:11:01 PM
Yes, like that. But, imagine in the future your steroids and other drugs (legal and illegal) would be absorbed like that.
That show was from 1999-2001. It was set in a future world where drug dealers were dealing patches called "slappers"..you slap on a patch of drugs, in this case a steroid like drug called Venom.

Right now, many drugs can be absorbed topically.

Fentanyl patches (for delivery of pain alleviating narcotics) are very popular in those that suffer from chronic debilitating diseases that manifest with severe daily pain.

Testosterone gel has been around for a while. Some people, particular those that are not fans of injectable testosterone, swear by the gel.

Whether or not chemists will one day produce a patch that can provide instant results/immediate onset (massive surges in strength ~ being able to instantly lift 4-5x your own body weight) is something I would be very interested in.

I agree with him.

Is it true or is he just messing with me in order to justify foolish behavior?

The kid was literally cooking up dry herbs in oil (supposedly extracting THC from the herb) and then mixed the result of that with both brownie mix and cookie dough. He baked both batches and produce a wide assortments of pastries.

I think he was over complicating things.

36  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Growing Marijuana on: July 13, 2014, 06:30:52 PM
Just the other day my nephew was making pot brownies and cookies.

I asked him why he would resort to (the hassle) making brownies and cookies, instead of just using a vaporizer with his herbs, the way he has been doing for the last year.

He tells me the "high" he gets from edibles is like nothing vaporizing or downright smoking marijuana can ever give him. He called it an "extended release" high that has various peaks and troughs.

Is there truth to this or is he just fucking with me??

"1"

P.S. Every day, more and more, I feel as if this kid is going to move out west to open a marijuana dispensary of some sort.
37  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Steroids of The Future? on: July 13, 2014, 06:26:36 PM
You just slap them on like a dermal patch?

You mean like Testosterone gel that's absorbed topically or something more advanced?

39  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: BigCyp is going to Medical School on: July 11, 2014, 07:06:39 PM
Ahh gotcha.

To obtain an MD in America its 4 year of university and 4 years of residency.

In America, to obtain an MD, you have to first obtain a 4-year Bachelor degree with a concentration in Pre-med, which covers all the necessary sciences for admission into med school (typically 2 semester of each of the following: biology, chemistry (Organic + Inorganic), and physics).

After you obtain your Bachelors Degree in Pre-Med, you then apply to Med School, but must take your MCAT's first.

Once you obtained a decent enough score (35 or higher) on the MCAT's and have your 4-year BS degree (with a good GPA 3.75 or higher), you typically can get into a good Medical School.

Medical School is then 4 years long.

Once you finish Medical School, you match into a particular residency. The most common one to match with is an internal medicine residency, which is a 3-year long residency.

After you complete your internal medicine residency, you can always opt to specialize in something like lets say Cardiology. Cardiology then requires a 3-year fellowship. Once you complete that, you are considered a Cardiologist.

So, in summary, assuming you want to become a Cardiologist (Medical Doctor Specializing on the Heart), it will take you this long:

4 years (Undergrad pre-med) + 4 years (Med School) + 3 years (Internal Medicine Residency) + 3 years (Cardiac Fellowship) = 14 years total from the time you finish high school.

If you already have a Bachelors degree with all the prerequisite sciences and have taken the MCAT's, you can then get into Med School and you can end up at the same end in 10 years (4yrs-med school + 3 yrs internal med resid + 3 yrs cardiac fellowship = 10yrs).

"1"

P.S. Not every residency takes 3 yrs. Some residencies can take as little as 3 years, while others can be up to 5 yrs long.

Example:

Internal Medicine = 3 year residency

Anesthesia = 4 year residency

Orthopedic Surgery = 5 year surgical residency

** Since things like Cardiac & Gastroenterology are sub-specialties of internal medicine, they typically require 3 extra years of what's called a fellowship ON TOP of the initial 3 year internal medicine residency. So, if you want to become a gastroenterologist, after you finish med school, you have to do 6 extra years of training (3 years of internal medicine + 3 years of Gastro Fellowship).

I can't stand flaming homosexuals.

You can be homo, but you don't have to act like a f$g.

Granted, if I see a gay man acting flamboyant, I just typically disregard their crap and keep about my merry way. I wouldn't lash out at an individual for being overly flamboyant.

Just not my cup of tea...

Things that stood out for me from this piece..

.....and even gulped a glass of wine before leaving.

Very classy... A nice touch at the very end.. A great glass of wine, as opposed to human life, is an exquisite thing of beauty and sheer delight that should never be put to waste.

Police say Tichelman provided heroin for Hayes, a Google executive, while they were aboard the 50-foot yacht.

So aside from being a philanderer, he was a heroin addict. I get it..

According to Hayes's obituary, he was a married father of five

A father of five that believed in indulging in random heroin binges.

Hayes's obituary describes him as a "loving husband and father."

He might have been a loving father, but a loving husband? I don't know, but something leads me to think otherwise.

"More than anything else he enjoyed spending time with his family at home and on his boat....." Hayes' obituary says.

I can agree with the time spent on his boat. With his family? Maybe not so much.

Police said that Hayes had an ongoing pay-for-sex relationship with Tichelman, but that relationship came to an end last November on his yacht in the small boat harbor in Santa Cruz.

No shit. I can't imagine a sequel to a heroin overdose.

Just as an added note, regarding Physical Therapists...

It is now necessary to get a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) in order to practice*, so it's a pretty long road.

Other thread got me thinking, what are the best jobs for the bodybuilding lifestyle?

I've worked security in the past and that was certainly pretty anabolic seeing how i wasn't doing shit all, besides eating for that time.

Any thoughts?

If you're truly serious about this....

Physical therapist would be a great career path for a bodybuilder. They make pretty decent money and are highly respected in the medical world and otherwise. Every major hospital around the country has Physical Therapists on staff and they can make up to 75-100K with ease. Also, there are many opportunities for physical therapists within professional sports teams (NBA, NFL, MLB etc.) and those therapists can make deep into the 6-figure salary range. The added benefit is that as a physical therapist you are always around workout equipment and are uptodate with the latest trends for optimized performance.

Personal trainers and Fitness industry models are also options to consider.

I wouldn't recommend security, because big muscles DO NOT translate to fighting skill or stamina needed when faced with an assailant. I've seen a shit load of bodybuilders get their asses annihilated by 170lb twinks that just so happened to have good hands and a little skill in fighting.

Construction work would seem like the obvious, but construction workers have a different type of strength and build than most bodybuilders. Those guys have functional strength due to having strong joints, ligaments and tendons. It's an entirely different feel than what most bodybuilders are used to.

Good luck!

Consider this. How many IFBB national bodybuilding champions post on Getbig and remain here? Why is that?

So, the way I get treated here reflects on everyone who wins a title.

The vast majority of them don't post here because they have exclusivity clauses with other websites (Bob Chick, Shawn Ray, Victor Martinez, Jay Cutler, Branch Warren, Evan Centopani, Steve Kuclo, Dexter Jackson, Ronnie Coleman, Dennis Wolf, Johnnie Jackson etc.). We can't control what their current sponsor/employers allow them to do and we respect their contractual obligations.

I have a soft spot for the old coot but you make a very good point. Vince constantly bashes the IFBB, this board and Ron in particular.
Anywhere else he would have been banned. But he's a fixture on this board and love him or hate him it just wouldn't be the same if
he wasn't here anymore.

What you?

I have no problems with Basile. I don't appreciate him calling me a patsy and/or stooge, but I've been called worse around these parts.

50  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Enough with the Basilie blue stars nonsense... on: July 08, 2014, 06:18:56 PM
Seems he does this everywhere, guy. He joins bodybuilding sites just to bitch about the IFBB and anything associated. Founders, history, legends, current events, anything he can piss on. He fancies himself the Robin Hood of musclemen, here to bring justice to the not-haves. Bitter as fuck.

Ron's the only one who still allows him to stick around. Think he appreciates it?

Ron always tells me that he believes in giving everyone a chance. He is a fair man.
