Omr I thought said his ban wasn't perminant, yet he still has not returned WTF give the guy another shot already.

Why would I give the "guy" another shot if he already is logging in under a gimmick account?

So that's what happened!  Damnit!

Good morning, brother!  I trust all is well with you and your family?

All is well so far, thank you. I'm back in the gym lifting 20 pound DB's with my recovering shoulder.

Living the dream!

53  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: How many PhDs in the forum? on: July 06, 2014, 10:59:29 AM
Cool, but what about the cost of opportunity? Instead of doing a doctoral program one could be working all those years as a masters which is not bad at all Huh

I don't know, but I think that for most cases getting a PhD is not a good idea money wise. But of course if it is what you love to do then go for it. Smiley

If you want to be a college professor at a private university, most won't look at you without both a PhD and an exceptional resume of research. Granted, depending on the discipline, you can teach without having a PhD, but it sure helps if your trying to land a spot within Academia.

56  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: UFC 175 on: July 06, 2014, 07:49:46 AM
yes i agree that vitor vs weidman woulda been more exciting, vitor starts off like a jet than fades, machida starts off slow than comes on in later rds. weidman will be champ along time, hes a true freak when it comes to learning new stuff n the kids got heart n a rock chin, all the tools of a champion

If Weidman can weather the storm for the first 2 rounds or so, he would be able to then pick apart Vitor in the later rounds. If Weidman tries to trade with Vitor during those first two rounds, he could be in trouble.

Again, this all depends on what Vitor we see. TRT Vitor with the mohawk and crazy, fanatical Jesus freak comes in and we will have a serious battle. If it's post-TRT Vitor, then it could very well end early.

At the present moment, I think the fighter with the most potential is Daniel Cormier. That man is fast, strong and extremely well versed on the ground , as well as on his feet.

57  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: World Cup Soccer - Who Will Win? on: July 06, 2014, 06:20:55 AM
Here's how I see the next set of games playing out.

Brazil vs Germany: Germany will win. Brazil lost Neymar to a lumbar fracture and Thiago Silva to a yellow card. While Brazil has a number of guys that can step up to replace the two, it hasn't been playing that well all throughout the world cup. Brazil looks lazy, unorganized and tired. They have been known to play beautiful soccer that could make any team look amateurish, but in this world cup, they have been sloppy. Germany, on the other hand, looks like a team of cyborgs playing soccer. They have strong defense and offense, move incredibly well down midfield and have answers for all plays. 1-0 Germany, followed by riots in the streets of Brazil.

Argentina vs Netherlands: Argentina will win. Both teams are very impressive. Netherlands has really good actors that after their run in soccer comes to an end could certainly pursue a career in the WWe with their magnificent dives and fake injuries. Argentina has Messi, who hasn't been playing as he usually would, but at least can attract 2-3 defenders at a time and set up subsequent plays. Argentina has very nice offence and defense and moves very much so in concert. 1-0 Argentina.

I think a Weidman vs Vitor fight could be exciting, but without the TRT, Vitor might be a shadow of his former self.

Jacare would be nice against Weidman due to his amazing JiuJitsu, but Jacare's striking needs a lot of work.

The fight I would really like to see is Weidman versus Yoel Romero. Romero is stronger than Weidman and is a way better wrestler with decent striking ability.

59  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: UFC 175 on: July 05, 2014, 09:57:56 PM
Agreed, I like Weidman but I don't think he is good enough to rule the light heavyweight division.

Aside from Jones, we can look at guys like Gustfasson, Cormier and Glover. Those guys are fucking animals.

60  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: UFC 175 on: July 05, 2014, 09:47:36 PM
Wildman is a big 185. I want to see him fight jones down the road. Machida did good but he waited way too long. He did hurt Chris several times.

I think Chris should stay where he is.

Jon Jones would murder the kid. Jones is taller, faster, stronger and has way better movement, striking arsenal and a barrage of eye gouging techniques.

Weidman had a war with machida, whereas Jones made quick work of Machida and was the first to put him to sleep.

61  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: UFC 175 on: July 05, 2014, 09:42:12 PM
Yeah Yeah. Weidman had to lay on Machida to win. Saved by the bell in the 4th and 5th.

I think it was a fair win.

Weidman had rounds 1-3 for sure.

Machida came alive during the 4th and 5th and brought work to Weidman.

What I liked about this fight:

~Full 5 rounds

~No premature knockout

~No freak accidents

~Both guys trading

~No one gave up

~Both guys had good stamina

Machida could very well become the gatekeeper at middleweight, kind of like the guy that others must pass in order to get a title shot (the Junior Dos Santos of Middleweight).

Now, I look forward to Weidman versus Vitor, Jacare, Yoel Romero and Rockhold. Once he gets through these 4 other guys, the rest of the middleweights are just sparring partners.

62  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: UFC 175 on: July 05, 2014, 09:29:43 PM
You got your five.

About fucking time we get a 5-round war. I give it to Chris.

Chris gets rounds 1, 2 and 3.

Machida 4 and possibly 5.

63  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: UFC 175 on: July 05, 2014, 09:23:44 PM
Lyoto looked alive in that 4th round folks..

This is a good fight. Let's see how they finish.

64  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: UFC 175 on: July 05, 2014, 08:48:21 PM
I'm nervous now as I have blown a ton of smoke up Weidman arse.  Here's hoping The Dragon doesn't upset my prediction of a Weidman win.

At the very least, I just hope it's a good fight. I don't want any quick knockouts or freak accidents. Lets have a real war for once.

65  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: UFC 175 on: July 05, 2014, 08:44:41 PM
Unless they bring in Cyborg, the UFC will continue to have these types of fights with Rousey.

Even if they bring in Carano, that will be yet another easy win for Rousey.

I hope Machida vs Weidman goes for the full 5 rounds and is a true battle.

I will stream the PPV card, but I am not impressed with this card.

Hall vs Santos ~ Hall is boring as all hell and is scared to engage his opponents. He would do great in point fighting, but against skilled MMA fighters, it seems to me that the kid just doesn't have the fighting spirit come fight night. He does seem like a very nice young man though, extremely well mannered.

Struve vs Mitrione ~ Irrelevant on both counts.

Rousey vs Davis ~ I believe women do have a place in MMA. I also believe Dana needs to bring in cyborg to give the fans what they want to see. Would like to see a different finish, but I'm guessing Ronda via armbar anytime she wants.

Weidman vs Machida ~ Curious to see how this plays out, would like to see a full 5 rounds of action. On a side note, while both fighters were accordingly dry/depleted during weigh ins, I did think that Weidman came in a little too dry and showed signs of less muscle mass being carried as compared to other fights.

Look forward for links tonight!

68  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: -Grapefruit For Life- on: July 02, 2014, 07:31:20 AM
Kai is a man that understands the benefits of Grapefruit. I say he is above the curve and the rest have yet to catch on.

Let's review...

Grapefruit has:

Vitamin C ~ A great antioxidant that promotes cardiovascular health by preventing the oxidation of cholesterol. Whether or not topical application of grapefruit allows for absorption of Vitamin C is still in question, but who wants their penile arteries stuffed with Cholesterol?

Carotenoids ~ These plant-based compounds have many disease-preventing properties. Who wants a disease-ridden cock?

Limonoids ~ Limonoids help control the activity of genes in cancer cells, activating genes that promote cancer cell death. Who wants penile cancer?

Pectin fiber ~ The soluble pectin fiber contained in grapefruit may slow down the development of atherosclerosis. Who wants a cock that suffers from atherosclerosis?

Clearly, Grapefruit is meant to be eaten, but one can not dismiss the potential for both topical and urethra absorption being viable options.

Kai is just much smarter than the rest of the IFBB pros.

69  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Watching the latest Batman (rises) on: July 02, 2014, 06:44:20 AM
Christian Bale is a very good actor. His portrayal of roles is very impressive.

I also think Tom Hardy is extremely talented (Anyone ever see Warrior?).

Even with these guys in the mix, the one actor that moved me the most in these recent Batman movies was none other than the immortal Liam Neeson. Every scene this man was in was thought provoking and compelling. It's some of the supporting cast that does the best work in these movies.

...and who can forget masterful performance of Heath Ledger?

Because the trainer refuses to post a pic until he is "in shape" for "Vegas", which will happen on August 6 "or so". Oh, and he will be "250 @ 8%" and "around 6 feet tall".

I can't wait!

Ok, cool..  Fair enough.

If the man wants to look his best, then he deserves as much time as need be. I am sure he will deliver and post a multitude of pictures that will clearly have identifying markers (i.e. signs for GetBig, maybe take requests).

I am excited to see his transformation. If he comes in at 250lbs @ 8%, I will also be asking him for help with my diet. I need Galeniko & "no one" to get me back in shape, but if "the trainer" can achieve those numbers, I will be very impressed.

72  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Chael Sonnen - Gone on: July 01, 2014, 09:18:15 AM
I disagree with you. I think it's rationalization when you say all sports are using steroids to justify your use.

Just about every professional MMA fighter I speak to at Renzo's academy says that more than half of the guys are on PEDs. Alexander Rodriguez, Sosa, Mcgwire, Dwain Chambers, Marion Jones and the rest of the guys that have gotten caught have made mention of the fact that they are not alone. Lance Armstrong was caught and retired. During the BALCO Scandal in 2003, it was also revealed that are large contingent of NFL players were using PEDs. Victor Conte revealed that over 60% of Olympic athletes were all doping. So, lets see, we have MMA, Baseball, Football, racing cyclists and even Olympic competitors that have all been involved in the use of PEDs. I don't think that is a rationalization, it is simply the truth.

I'm saying the majority in sport don't and it's cheating when everyone isn't on them.

That's what you are saying, but clearly Belfort, Sonnen, Lance Armstrong, A-Rod, Mcgwire, Canseco, Victor Conte and former NFL coaches (see Jim Haslett as an example) can't be wrong in stating what they have.

You are correct in that it can be considered cheating when everyone isn't on them. This is why I support allowing widespread use of them, assuming they are at the very least medically monitored to insure optimum safety.

Kids look up to athletes. The last thing I want is high school kids and college kids shooting a syringe in their ass to play a game.

It's not the athletes fault that kids look up to them. Athletes should not be role models. They are businessmen performing for money and simply that. Kids shouldn't look up to guys that win the genetic lottery and end up getting a large contract to play a sport that they have a natural, genetic tendency to excel at. The vast majority of kids will never make it to being a professional athlete. Parents are there to hopefully serve as role models. Professional athletes today are drug addicts, criminals, rapists and just about everything under the sun except for role models.

Regarding the last thing you want is for kids to shoot themselves up the ass with a syringe. It's happening and it's happening every single day. This is not only at the college level, but also at the high school level. I'm about 50 years old now and it was happening when I was playing high school and college football.

Right now law suits are flying over heart attacks and strokes regarding hormone replacement with what amounts to ridiculously low doses. What are we encouraging here?

My philosophy is simple. Allow for widespread use of hormone replacement therapy. This approach would allow for athletes to use hormonal enhancements while under the supervision of an endocrinologist that can properly monitor their free/total testosterone, estrogen + CBC, CMP, Lipid Panel, TSH/T4, HA1C, ESR, CRP, & UA. If it makes you feel any happier, said athletes (since they can afford it) can also have a cardiologist run yearly EKGs, Stress tests, Echos and Cardiac CT's to be certain that cardiac abnormalities are not present.

It's a risk to health. It's like the rationalization argument that your uncle Fred smoked for 65 years and he's still kicking. Is smoking a risk to health? It sure is.

If you actively monitor your health, HRT is relatively safe. Millions of Americans are safely being treated by their Endocrinologists nationwide, as well as worldwide.

Where are you training with Renzo? Back in the day he was mainly in NY but he  came into the Red Bank, NJ school from time to time to teach with Craig Kukuk.

Renzo is still teaching/training 95% of the time at his academy (224 West 30th Street). He recently had Chris Weidman come by every Monday to do Muay Thai training and Wednesdays to do Danaher's mid-afternoon no-gi class.

73  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Chael Sonnen - Gone on: July 01, 2014, 05:07:20 AM
I think Chael was/is very entertaining and is good for the sport of MMA. There are not enough vocal guys that can add to the overall experience of watching MMA.

Here's another tidbit for those of you who are not too well versed on PED's and their involvement in the sport of MMA. I train every single week (2-3x/week) at Renzo Gracie's academy. We have about 15-20 professional MMA fighters, 65% of them are from the UFC, the rest are from either 1FC, Glory or Bellator. I've spoken to the vast majority of them and I'd say half of them have either used PED's in the not so distant past or are still using them and simply cycling them in such a way that they test negative come sampling time.

Who works out at our academy?? Georges St. Pierre, Chris Weidman, Gian Villante, Roy Nelson, Frank Mir, Frankie Edgar, Francis Carmont, Rafael Natal, Rousimar Palhares and a bunch of others I do not want to name because they are the main ones using. I speak to most and they do not hide the fact that half the locker room is on the stuff.

This shit is rampant in the sport of MMA. Some guys get popped and others don't.

I say, cut the bullshit and let them all use PED's. What we as fans like to see are super human fighters beating the living shit out of each other and doing things in that ring that no one else has ever ventured to try. Just as we like to see baseball players obliterate balls out of the park, we also like to see fighters perform like Vitor Belfort when he is on the gear. Everyone in professional sports uses steroids, from baseball players, football players, basketball players, soccer players to even members of the Olympic teams. Let's just even out the playing field and let everyone use the stuff at their own discretion and ideally with medical monitoring/surveillance to assure some level of physiological controls (3-6 month blood work) as to not completely shut down their pituitary gland and/or develop any preneoplastic, cardiac, renal or hepatic pathologies.

Why should I have to explain matters to anonymous individuals who take little or no responsibility for what they post? How fair is that?

Who is Shockwave? Who is One More Rep? Who is bigmc? I don't know who you people are so I owe you absolutely nothing.

I take 100% responsibility for what I post. That is the manly thing to do and not what bigmc and other cowards do. They are nothing

but cyber bullies. They are tolerated by the moderators and bigmc is even a moderator. Unbelievable.

It is 5am here, I am going to bed.

Vince, if for instance, I write that I killed a dog, by way of my own words, I am stating that I committed a heinous act that in some places may be punishable by law. If I write those words, I leave very little room for argument, because I wrote/stated that I committed said act.

You wrote something which would lead anyone to believe that a crime (RAPE) occurred in your home and that the victim confessed to you that one of your guests took advantage of her.

If my, or anyone's, interpretation of what you wrote is wrong, then simply correct us and express what you were trying to say. If you decide to not want to talk about the incident and simply leave it at that which you have already written, you have to respect whatever conclusion anyone reaches based upon your own words.

I am not going to beat a dead horse. If this is something you care not to explore or talk about, I respect your choice and will simply leave it at that.

I have no qualms with you Vince. I have never removed any of your material, nor have I ever had a reason to enforce the rules when dealing with you. Up to now, you've yet to do anything that goes against our rules and so I have nothing negative to say about you.

You simply wrote a statement and I analyzed it, simple as that. I apologize if my looking into what you wrote has angered you in any way.
