There is no great template out there but there are a couple ways of going about it.
Some use a westside/events training hybrid schedule. It goes something like: Monday - speed lower/max upper Wednesday - speed upper/max lower (these days are interchangeable depending on your preference) Saturday - Events day
That is obviously a lot of max work for one week, but it works great for the couple months before a show.
Others tend to simply do a 4-5 day schedule where gym lifts are the main focus and events are scattered in with appropriate muscle groups. You can use a log on shoulder day, side handle DL on leg or back day, and you get the point.
Hope this helps. If you would like to see more of what strongmen do in the gym, YouTube is a great source. Many strongmen post their workouts regularly.

Its fine, just dont call yourself a 'powerlifter'. Its disrespectful to the guys who put in the work and effort on all 3 lifts. Even if you do push/pull its not complete, ya know? It fine to throw one in from time to time, but it would be like a 'strongman' coming in and doing their best event and leaving OR a bb'er running up and hitting one pose and feeling good about being 'one of the best up there'. Not that it matter what anyone thinks.

Thanks for the replies guys...so from the sounds of things if you never train on a log, just on a bar and enter a contest with that as an event I will probably embarass myself Not completely. I used DB's with neutral grip for standing OHP for a while to simulate the log. The important part of simulating the movement is to LOCKOUT. This is where most people will have a hard time, just because they have never stabilized a weight, with that grip, extended completely overhead. Try it with DB's; it wont teach you the clean, but that part comes pretty naturally....until you try a max weight anyway. Good luck! Oh and Magnus, thanks!

Log is much more difficult when you first start using it, no doubt. When I started the log, I had trouble with 220 but could do a 275 oly bar.
Now I can do nearly the same on each. I have gotten 345 on a bar and 320 on log press. The log keeps getting easier for me and I should probably max out again.
For me, the log gets easier because I cannot get a bar to touch my shoulders, while the log sits perfectly in front of me.
Many people will never log press what they press on an axle or bar. It throws you off balance and is much harder to push your head through at lockout. Also, with the size of the log, it hangs the weight farther in front of you and is harder to jerk for this reason.
You really must give it a try though. Sure to humble any first timer.

What does DE & ME stand for?
Dynamic and Max Effort. It is a good plan, but someone cannot just point out something and say "that wont work" because it just might for that person. Trial and error. Look and your log book and decide. Thats all ANY trainer can do (aside from avoiding 'overlap'). Glad to hear it!

I thought of him just yesterday. I hope his wife and child are doing well. RIP Jesse.
They are doing well. Callie has been in a relationship with another pro strongman for a couple years (Nick Best). She still runs Marunde-Muscle.com and does personal training, as well as spin classes and such. Things are going well for her.
