I did for a while now, I only do bodyweight stuff for my upper body, the basic chin ups, pull ups, dips, push ups, etc. I mainly do bodyweight stuff for legs too, but include some weighted work like db lunges or squats at least once a month. To be honest I also look better than when I was training with weights, although it maybe simply because I stopped permabulking, lol. One thing is for sure, when I was weight training I had a lot of nagging pains and small injuries all the time, tendonitis on my elbow, back pain, etc. and they all disappeared once I made the transition to bodyweight training, specially the tendonitis, I had it for a whole year and it wouldn't go away, until I stopped lifting weights and boom a few weeks later its gone.
Same here, I had tendinitis in my left shoulder and my elbows were fucked. I was always very conscience of my form and never went too heavy either, but still it was always some nagging injury or soreness. Also, my muscles were always tight, even with stretching. Now there's no injuries and my joints feel rejuvenated. I'm no fighter, but I've always loved to hit the bags and shadow box. I could barely throw any left handed punches at one point because of the tendinitis in my left shoulder. I think weight training is good, but anyone who has similar nagging injuries, despite doing everything right in the weight room, should consider the transition because it might help. If you're natural I don't think you'll lose much muscle.

What body weight exercises do you do.
push ups and dips for chest, anterior delts, and triceps chins and upper back rows on my Total Gym, for cardio I use a rowing machine which also works my lats and legs Hindu squats and rowing work my legs okay. I haven't noticed any loss in size (not that they were big to begin with) but my muscular endurance has increased significantly since stopping squats, leg press, hack squats I'm not personal trainer or expert, just figured I'd try the bread and butter exercises, and they've worked for me.

"Muscles don't mean shit"- Freddie RoachWhen I heard that I decided to ditch bodybuilding and do body weight exercises just to see what would happen... 2 months later I'm leaner, faster, & much better cardio conditioned. Not shitting on bodybuilding, but I my body feels healthy now. Anyone else make this transition?

No you could easily eat 2500 calories a day and lose 30 lbs without any cardio either.
For anyone that's predispositoned to be lean, yeah that's probably possible. But, for some people, we eat less than 2500 calories normally and still become overweight. The solution is either calorie deficit or low carb for people like me. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way? I've dieted for years and this is the best non-cardio approach.

I suggest picking a caloric number and eating whatever to meet it.
Ah, so for someone who's 30 lbs. overweight I'm looking at a sub 1000 calorie diet. That means I could probably eat 1 Big Mac as my only meal. I'm more of a quantity over quality type of guy. Low carb = endless amounts of meat per day.
