Gotta love the Vette and its old, old school pushrod V8 still puts much more expensive high-end imported sports cars to shame.  The only sports cars I've owned(well, more like rattletraps) were F-bodies.  I just picked up my fourth (a used '00 ls1 Trans Am) where I'm in the process of building it into a high 10s deep 11s cam-only car.  Figured it'd be more efficient and cost effective than trying to get my Dodge Ram down the quarter in less than 15 seconds.

$30k for a hot car?  Mustangs are for women, G37/370Z are for middle-aged assholes who will never modify 'em, and BMW and Mercedes...wait, you can't buy a decent BMW or Mercedes for under 70 grand, and if you do buy a BMW or MB for under 70 grand.....you're a moronic asshole, especially if you like performance vehicles.

The Challenger is my dream car though, and the Camaro looks cool.

The problem here is that Republicans try to portray themselves as the party of moral and family values and the Christian Right.  Their words say one thing, their deeds quite another.  The list of various offenses committed by those in the Republican party is loooooong.  Michael Steele was obviously an "affirmative action" choice to head the RNC in a desperate attempt to offset the new Obama-led Democratic party(yea, like that was going to sway any black voters to vote Republican Roll Eyes  )

It's almost sickening that this group is the only viable alternative to the reckless Democrats we have in power now.

Most US Jews don't give a shit about Israel.  Jews vote mostly democratic anyway and are enjoying a revival of sorts here in the US and Western Europe.  I for one do support Israel and its people, but I do balk at the sheer amount the US sends it in terms of foreign aid when we have a serious recession here on the homefront.  Many people also don't know that the biggest and most powerful lobbyist on capitol hill is not Big Oil or the Pharmaceuticals, but the Israeli lobby.  Whenever a foreign policy issues comes up, the first question out of most politician's mouths are, "what about Israel?"  I think these actions are detrimental to the bulk of the Israeli people.  As deplorable as someone like Achmadinijead is, I have lost count how many times the terms "wipe off the map" in regards to Israel is replayed over and over by the news media, especially at Fox.  Moreso to the fact that literally wiping Israel off the map is not what he stated at all.

Israel is doomed as a country anyways, much akin to the nations of Western Europe.  Birthrates and immigration will make what was once the majority in that nation a minority....and the new majority will not look favorably upon that new minority culturally, politically, or religiously.

1584  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Is Obama a Communist? on: March 26, 2010, 02:06:32 PM
No, not a communist.  Just the standard fearmongering from the opposite sides of the political aisle.  It wasn't so long ago when all people heard was how evil and conniving Bush and Cheney were in regards to false-flag attacks, suspending elections, setting up wars, and the evil plot by Granddad Prescott Bush to overthrow FDR.  The news would broadcast all day the various anti-war rallies held everywhere.  We still have two wars going on, where are the rallies at now?  Bush Dubya is only mentioned when the financial mess blame is handed out.

This is funny.  I see several people stating that Obama is a puppet of billionaires and other global power elites.  Name them.  In what way and how are they controlling Obama?  I'm hardpressed to come up with an answer to how the hell would Obama even have the time to being "brainwashed" by these nameless global elites with just the normal routines that a president does.  Then, I see another post where someone claims(and truthfully so) that 95% of what you see from a politician is bullshit, a front.  A lot of the shit I'm seeing here in regards to all the conspiracy-theory stuff regarding Obama looks as if it comes out of a science fiction movie.  I don't agree with a lot of his policies and views and have an even less favorable view of those he surrounds himself with, but c'mon now...a puppet controlled by lizard-people?  Grin
1585  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Class Warfare on: March 26, 2010, 01:43:30 PM
Warren Buffet still lives in his original house he bought many years ago and tools around in his old Ford pickup truck.  Even Proverbs states it..."The Wealthy pretend to be Poor, the Poor pretend to be Wealthy."  Just look at all the athletes that end up going bankrupt soon after their careers are over with.  They buy huge mansions without taking into consideration what the yearly tax would be on that property 20 years from now.  Not to mention all the jewelry and $300,000 cars with 26 inch rims.  Smart.

Taxing isn't the problem.  The problem is how that money is spent.  I know a guy in New York that is almost in his mid-30s that stays home and masturbates 5 to 6 times a day to anal and foot fetish porn while having received a welfare check for at least the last 10 years or so.  He has a 10 year old that lives with him and his wife.  This guy is unsure of what grade his son is in.  His hobbies(outside of masturbating) is building little remote-control cars.  The wife works at a fast-food place(hey, she works).  He has Type 2 diabetes and receives various medications(little to none paid by him, of course).  His son receives Ritalin medication.  However, he does have decent knowledge of automotive repair and makes a little money on the side whenever he needs to scratch up a few dollars to fulfill his, uh, hobbies.

This guy was offered a job at a furniture store.  All he had to do was show up for an interview and he'd have full time work.  He played stupid and never showed up for the interview.  He feared that working would reduce his government monetary allowance.  Sickening.  I'm not sure what the exact law in New York state is when it comes to welfare payments in perpetuity, but he along with thousands of others live like this.  If the welfare payments were cut off, this guy would be forced to take some responsibility upon himself and find a job. A LOT of the unemployment out there is by choice.
1586  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Universal Healthcare - cheaper and now in the USA on: March 26, 2010, 12:17:05 AM
Universal Healthcare sounds great and all, however, the government cannot afford it.  You cannot continue to keep on raising the debt ceiling without there being some serious consequences that will probably be soon upon us.  Rapidly disappearing manufacturing base, rising unemployment, low-wage service based economy, two wars going on, billions in foreign aid(#1 Israel, #2 Saudi Arabia), reckless and stupid spending, trade deficits, welfare/food stamp/Section 8 handouts, medicare fraud, millions of unskilled, non-assimilating, nationalistic immigrants pouring into our country, devaluing of the dollar......and people continue to debate stupid shit like rednecks throwing a brick through a politician's office window or if Obama is a communist or not.

Government finances should be run like a business, but it never is.  People who want all these things that are taken for granted, like, you know, our military, police, fire, roads, schools, social security, medicare, etc....think all this shit is paid for out of some government bottomless bag.  It isn't.  Our debts will catch up to us.

So which is it?  Forgiveness of all debts?  Sink the dollar, and start a new commodity-based currency?  Or let the US become the world's biggest garage sale at rock bottom prices?

1588  Getbig Main Boards / General Topics / Re: I hope owning that pit bull was worth endangering your child on: May 22, 2009, 07:31:38 PM
A lot of these "pitbulls" are in fact not truly pitbulls.  Pitbulls do not weight 90+ pounds.  However, a very wide assortment of dogs, from various lab mixes to non-bully dogs such as Cane Corses have often been called pitbulls, often for the media's sake of demonizing the breed.  It is quite sad, as the pitbull was once used for propaganda purposes for the US Army during the WW2 era and a couple of them actually received military medals.  I blame fuckstick, pants-sagging, trailer trash owners breeding them for huge heads and treating them like shit.  Equal blame can be on the piece of shit for-profit media that looks for anything resembling a pitbull attack story to sell their shitty newspapers.

Who the hell knows exactly what kind of dog Harrison had, or the kind of training or socialization it had.  Any large dog is capable of severely injuring children.  It takes a LOT of work, supervision, and training to have dogs around children, irregardless of size.  It certainly does not mean they are not compatible.  If you don't have the time or inclination to put the work into it, then its one or the other.

I own 3 pitbulls(ok, one is more of an American Bully, type).  They have frequent interaction with my nephews and nieces and the neighborhood children.  No, there has never been an incident, nor have they shown aggression.  They are however, under my supervision.  When I'm not around, they go in their kennel.

It seems that those who rant loudest about them being dangerous are the ones always severely misinformed and unwilling to learn about the breed(or dog behavior in general).
1589  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: would you support a petition to limit viewpoints from prominent neocons? on: April 27, 2009, 02:10:28 PM
Backlash from whom?  Viewers turning off their tv sets?  A "4-box" debate that would feature 3 different people screaming at and talking over anything a Frum or Kristoff would say?  Scathing editorials within Creators Syndicate and other Opinion columns?

No, I would not support a petition to discourage what anyone had to say, unless of course it directly orders violence towards an individual or groups.  If someone were to get hurt or killed over what someone said in an opinion piece, than so be it.  We live in a Free Society.  Can't have it both ways.  Open speech, or restricted speech.  There's no cherry pickin' here.  Bill Maher expressedly stated the above, but then said the opposite about those that turned up for the Tea Party rallies, stating that such activity was dangerous and perhaps should be looked at.  People may chime they love free speech, but are quick to quell any dissenting opinions that don't cross their own ideologies.

Besides, Neocons are the like the funny, alcoholic uncle that shows up on holidays.  Sure, he's loud and stupid, but he's gonna be invited back again and again 'cause he's a well-liked guy.
1590  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Should schools convert to a 4 Day Week for their students? on: April 27, 2009, 01:54:33 PM
Absolutely not.  Kids are hardly ever in school enough as it is anyways.  Even holiday recesses are going to be longer.  Add to the study halls, normal classroom disruptions, time in between classes, lunch, and a large portion of actual teaching dedicated to FCAT study, there really isn't much teaching and learning going on at all.

This just adds to the lack of homegrown talent in the field of mathematics and engineering, which will end up being plugged in by dedicated Asian and European graduates.  Maybe its time colleges got ride of "fluff" degrees like liberal arts, pastry making, knitting, rock wall climbing, and above all, political science.

Recap:

Dumb American kids get.....dumber.

1592  Getbig Main Boards / General Topics / Re: Just thinking over some history. on: April 27, 2009, 01:31:10 PM
Fear, and one group's existence threatened by another group, perceived or otherwise.  Fear is the great motivator of a great many dastardly events.  A segment of the German population felt threatened by Jews and other groups and were able to over the years spread that fear to the general populace.  Goebbels & Company didn't just decide to one day to begin slaughtering mass amounts of people.  It began with remarks such as "Jews routinely make filthy artwork" whispered throughout the media.  It progressed to the courts where laws were set up to make specific laws targeting differing groups.  As this ball rolled along over the years, large segments of the population did indeed mistrust and fear the Jews and other groups that differed from themselves.  It's a lot more "comfortable" to slaughter an enemy with the thought that if one didn't do so, you'd be on the receiving end.  As to the rank and file who performed the killings, more than a few felt sickened by what they did....................b ut that fear of treason and being punished or shot by their own kind often overrode those feelings.  Even though we are on the other side of the looking glass, it is very difficult to not think of one's own life and their family over potential violence meted out to a stranger.

So, recap:

Fear - Fear of the defined enemy and if left unchecked, would face destruction and suffering from that enemy(whether by historical fact, past experiences, or just good ole' propaganda)

Aside from the serial killer or complete maniac, no nations or individuals are evil for the pure sake of being evil.  They believe that they are in the right, and those that oppose them are the ones that are evil.  However, evil is often easily enough defined and must be identified, rooted out, and destroyed............... even if the ones that are evil just think its a matter of opinion.
1593  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Taliban inches close to Islamabad. So much for that cease fire. on: April 26, 2009, 10:20:24 PM
Muslim society is NOT a failure at all.  Perhaps if you look from the cultural and technological side of it, it is.

Islam is spreading quickly.  It has now surpassed Catholicism as one of the largest religions in the world.  It marches on the secular holdouts in the Middle East and takes advantage of the chaos in sub-saharan Africa to hold power.  As European and Israeli birthrates are in severe decline, Islamists and others in the Third World susceptible to this religion are growing in ever-increasing numbers.  They move into Western Europe en masse, easily using the modern Liberal ideologies to their advantage in law, the courts, and education.  Multiculturalism, diversity, post colonial guilt(or white guilt, if you'd prefer) are weapons used against a shrinking majority-minority to deprive them of political and social power.

In other words, we will see much of Europe become Islamist states in the near future.
1594  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Miss California Sparks Furor With Gay Marriage Comments on Miss USA Telecast on: April 26, 2009, 10:07:39 PM
Well, of course someone very visible on television is going to cause a "furor" when that person says something contrary to what the pro-homosexual, pro-immigration, globalist, post-colonial guilt ridden, politically correct popular media holds near and dear.  Or what it pretends to hold near and dear with whatever position would afford it the most money.

Few people, outside of San Francisco or Wilton Manors, aren't going to give it much thought anyways, even if they do support the idea of gay marriage.  The media, along with the rich, noisy, vocal gay civil rights groups(mafia) are out to cause a furor where there normally wouldn't have been one in the first place.

Keep it up America.  You hear the roaring of equality when it comes to gay marriage from celebrities and politicians, but absolutely nothing about other places where brutality of women is very real and often.  Its that very barbarism(along with much higher birthrates) that will come along and possibly sweep away the new Western minority.

1599  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Somalia: worst humanitarian crisis in the world. on: April 14, 2009, 05:25:39 PM
Billions upon billions of aid given to sub-saharan countries from the US and other nations around the world.  Countless religious and secular charities, government groups, UN resolutions, mass food deliveries, private companies, and philanthropic efforts by some of the world's richest and most influential people have all mostly FAILED to curb the ills of Africa......violence, ignorance, disease, poverty, hunger, famine.

Deicide is partially correct...America and the West does share some of the blame, albeit via good intentions and the unfortunate affects of globalization.....the introduction of modern technology to what would have otherwise been a backwards and primitive culture.  This technology comes in the form of weaponry.  The Europeans didn't defeat the Native Americans with armies(later, they did, when the N.As realized what had happened)....they defeated them with goods and cool gadgets.

However, the harsh climate, the rise of Islam, the strange melding of primitive culture with modern technology, overpopulation, and mass government corruption have all taken a brutal toll on Africa.

Plenty of blame to go around......but no one with the cajones to do the correct thing.
1600  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: would you vote in favour of ethnic group separatism? on: April 14, 2009, 05:10:45 PM
Our government and institutions already promote this, despite the concept of "everyone is equal" that is driven into us everyday via entertainment, educational, and media outlets.  Affirmative action, mass legal and illegal immigration, race-based quotas, and rampant political correctness drive huge wedges between people of various ethnicities and backgrounds.

Simply put, it is almost mathematically impossible to have equal representation of percentages of population to be represented in the various industries.  Based on skill level, location, and other factors, without the forced applications of affirmative actionesque policies, you would see imbalances in representation of races of people.  Take a look at the racial makeup and percentage of various elite professional groups that cannot afford racial and cultural quotas...the US Navy SEALS, the New England Patriots.

Its time to take the EOE signs down.  Its time to eliminate the race question on job and college applications.  Its time to end race-based scholarships.  Its time to end special interest groups that lobby on behalf of people who were born the way they are(the homosexual lobby? Grin).  Its time to end the hyphenated American.
