That was an awesome effort Matty. Many, many years ago I did 20 with 315 and it was hell. I also witnessed Tom Platz squatting (in person) on many occasions at Gold’s Venice and I can tell you that he would be the first to acknowledge your great effort. Platz more than anyone, knew when someone was willing to lay it all on the line and that’s what I saw in this clip. They were low enough for a gym contest and low enough to be a tremendous effort. Very well done.

Because that bitch, 333whatevertheothernumbersare, should get a set when he hits 100,000 posts. Has anyone on GetBig ever broke 50,000? Shit, I'll put money in the pool.

quote from his facebook: "Its a sad day for me as I announce that after the 2012 bodybuilding season, I will be RETIRING from competitive bodybuilding. Its obviously my goal to end my career with another Pro win and a top 10 feature at the Mr. Olympia. After this season my focus will be 100% on Dohne Nutrition and on building a stable life for my gorgeous son Jett. Today with the help of my trainer George Farah I start my diet for Tampa where I will be defending my title of last year. I hope I have your full support SA and my other supporters around the world as I give it one last BANG on the pro scene. Make sure to read the full story in next issue of Muscle Evolution Magazine." Guestposing last month I don't know this guy. He might be a great person. I can't stand what has happened to bodybuilding. His waist is larger than shoulders. He can't move, can't pose and cant even take his shorts off with even the slightest bit of finesse or swagger. How did bodybuilding ever become this. This is exactly the public image is so negative.

Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Golds Gym - "The Mecca", when it really was "The Mecca"

I guess that's what I'm asking, the friendships forged in the gym became bigger than just workout buddies. The good old days.
Very true Chaos. When I trained at Gold's Venice, Monday nights at Dinah's all you can eat chicken (Culver City) was like bodybuilding old home day... Roger Callard, Dave Dupree, Samir, Larry Jackson... there was a wait to get in and bodybuilders were all over the place even though it was fried chicken... who cared... it was cheap and it was protein, same with Swedish Inn Smörgåsbord in Weschester, CA. When I trained at Ray Mentzers Muscle Mill... Mike/Ray, Benny Podda and 4 or 5 of us would go to a local dinner afterward and have a late dinner while we listened to Mike and Ray's training advice. It was great. That's rare now. Wes... possibly Jacques Neuville on the far right (their left) in a print shirt. Leon Brown in the center in front of Franco. Yes that may be Dale Adrian but hard to tell. I think the guy in the center in front of Arnold was a Mr. Europe or Mr. Belgium but I don’t remember his name… maybe Serge Jacobs? I’m just not sure. Great photo’s in this thread.

Wesley? Maxwell? Either care to answer the question?
I don't know about being friends before we trained together. Most of us became friends while we trained. You know pushing each other you form friendships. I don't even understand what these people do today. Hazbin... Jeez put me to shame my friend. I don't know why you say you were afraid because any of the guys would have loved to train with you and guide you... many of them would have taken advice from you. Tim... c'mon man those are the obvious ones. I'll ad Dan Howard (I think) in the back row between Waller and Arnold.

Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Bob Chick and cancer

it's been brought to my attention that there was a thread about me having colon cancer...not true.
While I don't share most of my private life for obvious reasons, I appreciate the concern from people in my well being
As most of you know, my father recently passed away ( Dec 26) from advanced prostate cancer...he was diagnosed about 13 years ago
One year ago, I was diagnosed with the beginning stages of prostate cancer, and the Gleason score indicated it was pretty aggressive...just like my fathers.
My father elected to go the radiation route, as it was the newest treatment back then...obviously, it didn't work
My choice was fairly obvious, prostate removal, with the newest technology...divinci robot assisted radical prostatectomy...which I did.
Surgery was successful, I'm cancer free ( for now)....and a series of follow up PSA's will let us know if I remain cancer free...
I thank God I was able to heal quickly in order to help my father and family through what would be, his last 6 months with us...
First PSA resulted in an undetectable score ( best case scenario)....I'm due for another one now....
All good boys....
Good news Bob!
