I would love to see some tapes about Paul Dillet playing football.

I mean during his BBing hayday he could barely walk.

Dillet wasn't as big during his football days.

Tell that to a 14 year old Angry pre internet and just finished watching Conan

I know firsthand. I was 16 and not only saw Conan but watched WWF Superstars every week, featuring Hulk Hogan, the late Ultimate Warrior, the Powers of Pain and other swole pro wrestlers.

Even then, I knew it would take way longer than a year (even with my state-of-the-art cement weights and Weider's Dynamic Weight Gainer, which I got from my best friend as his stepfather didn't like the taste of it) to get that size in a year, if at all.

Did you as a young child one day stumble across a movie with a jacked up dude, or one of Arnie's old muscle movies, Conan, Commando...etc, or even Van Damme...or a poster in a magazine and thought "wohaa, this is how I want to be"....then later in your teens you bought your first Flex mag and before you knew it you could recognize all the top 10 Olympia pros from a back double bi shot. Followed all the weider principles and drank Mega Mass 2000...you loved it for the first year or two and then it dawned you on one day whilst flexing in the mirror that you are still light years behind your dream physique....why is it not happening? why am I although bigger than before, look nothing like Arnie or Ray...etc? and that's when the seed of AAS was first planted in that very moment in your head, and the rest was history.

Had someone told you the moment you subconsciously absorbed that image of your ideal physique told you, "son....this is a never ending road, no real human being can look anything close to this, to do so you will inject and swallow pills and eat and sleep right...and should you stop all of this you would shrivel back to oblivion in no time."

And what made you think you could be that size in a year, especially when they weren't even that size in just one year of training?

No. I wasn't conned into bodybuilding. Quite the opposite, from reading those pesky EVVVVIIIILLL magazine (only it was Muscle & Fitness, not FLEX), I learned I was a beginner. I couldn't and shouldn't train the way the top pros and amatuers do. I started with the tried-and-true, three-day-a-week, three-sets-of-ten, full-body workouts.

There's a pro named Keith Williams who played in the NFL for a few years. Jim "The Future" Quinn spent a year with the Dallas Cowboys. And, Paul Dillett played CFL football.

So, there are a handful of bodybuilders with pro football backgrounds.

Man cannot make food more anabolic than nature can which is why i am not a fan of whey protein, its processed with heat giving it higher levels of acidity toxicity which is not good for the body then sweeten with artificial sweeteners, just drink whole milk.

The problem with that is lactose. If you're intolerant, you end up buying a bunch of Lactaid which negates the savings aspect.

Plus, I wasn't speaking about protein powder being more or less anabolic. The emphasis is simply on being cheap. With certain clearance sales (particularly at GNC), whey protein is cheaper than milk and eggs.
31 Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Jobs and bodybuilders on: July 10, 2014, 09:38:22 AM
everybody forgets, bbing can be expensive... especially back in the day before ugls, and even with Mexican/aussie vet products, stuff was expensive, and the risk of getting burned was very real.

not to mention the cost of food... and the cost of supplements back in the day (before discount internet commerce).

if you wanted a bbing vid to motivate you, you had to drop $40 on a vhs tape and watch that fucker till it was blurry.

it was quite the eye opener when I found out a very large number of the bbers I saw in the mags growing up were living off of insecure, financially stable girlfriends.. usually for about 6-12months at a time till they got kicked out and slept on friends couches till they found another poor dumb girl to max out her credit cards. (not to mention, many of them are coke/meth/pain killer addicts)

The operative words are "CAN BE EXPENSIVE". I can't speak on the drug stuff. But, as far as the rest goes.....

Food: Buy in bulk, when possible; go vegetarian if necessary. Milk and eggs are cheaper than meat. Get you other proteins from legumes and grains and learn which combos make complete proteins.

Gym: Get the cheapest you can find; dredge up them old-school cement weights, if necessary.

Supplements: Unless you can get them on clearance, use them sparingly with emphasis on protein powders.

best shape i ever got in in my life i was working in a gym/health club, lets face it,if a person cant get in shape when they r working in a gym thats a serious problem, big problem

I tried that almost 20 years ago and it sucked, as basically I was a janitor in a weight room. When I finally got my summer engineering intern job two years later, I made some of my best gains.
33 Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Best Jobs for bodybuilding on: July 10, 2014, 08:55:18 AM
an IT technician like ruhl.

I thought he sold used cars.
34 Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Best Jobs for bodybuilding on: July 10, 2014, 08:51:46 AM
Construction worker is the worse job for a bodybuilder. A union laborer can have to do mandatory 16 hour shifts many times. Also between all the carrying, shoveling, and moving stuff it's exhausting work. There is no way you're going to the gym after working on a bridge for 14 hours.

Physical therapist is a great idea. Acceptance into a school demands high academics and SAT. That is something most bodybuilders are lacking. Grin In NJ many are making over 100K. I know in rural states it's less but then so is the cost of living.

Many competing bodybuilders in the 70's that I knew from the gyms were steroid dealers. It's a felony and that could land you in prison now for years. Many of the pro's in the past didn't have jobs but were connected the paying gay crowd. Some even made enough money to buy gyms. Not that there's anything wrong with that. (Seinfeld)

That's simply lazy-man talk. Plenty of people have worked construction jobs (myself included) and make it to the gym. Some who train at my gym often just hit the iron in their work clothes. And, if I'm not mistaken, Jay Cutler used to sling concrete with his brothers in his younger years. Apparently, he found time to make it to the gym.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm0syN_PWA4

If only a Three-time Mr. Olympia (who won the USA on his first try) had the width of a guy who didn't even turn pro.
36 Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Jobs and bodybuilders on: July 09, 2014, 08:40:48 AM
Why is it that bodybuilders are afraid of real jobs, I have heard many bodybuilders say that they are forced to do g4p, prostitution etc cause they dont have money, are they not aware that there are real jobs available if you are willing to work or is it that they are just lazy and dont like to work,

Bodybuilders aren't afraid of real jobs. Most have them. You are overemphasizing the few that do foolishness like gay prostitution and pretending that such goes for the bulk of competitors.

Ronnie Coleman was a cop; Porter Cottrell was a firefighter, as is Steve Kuclo. David Henry is in the Air Force. Lee Labrada and the late Nasser El Sonbaty were engineers. Marks Ruhl (believe it or not) sold used cars. Mark Dugdale owns a vegetable company in Washington (state). The late Don Youngblood owned a trucking company. Then, there's Lee Banks, who runs day care centers in Florida, where he occasionally dresses as a giant duck.

And that's just a small example.
37 Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Jobs and bodybuilders on: July 09, 2014, 08:32:37 AM
Hahahah! To think he was a REAL cop doing REAL cop work, all when he couldn't even fit into a bulletproof vest, is laughable!

He was a real cop; and he was such before he became a bodybuilder. Sergio Oliva was a cop, too.
38 Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: JAY CUTLERS EX WIFE LOOKING HOT on: July 09, 2014, 08:25:34 AM
Why is she keeping the "cutler" name?

Most divorced women keep their ex-husbands' last names. Sometimes, it's for professional purposes (I.e. Tina Turner, Cory Everson, Kimora Lee Simmons).
39 Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Is that an IFBB Pro? on: July 06, 2014, 10:36:34 AM
He should be relegated to the NPC, along with little Phil Heath.

Heath won the USA (first try) with relative ease. And as a rookie he won his first two shows, defeating guys who were top Olympia contenders.

There's nothing little about Heath. He's Mr. O, three times running.

wow that looks like 2.83 heaths wide!!

Greg Kovacs was "wider" than Heath, too. I guess he should have had the Sandow handed to him.

Besides, to the best of my knowledge, Ruhl only won one show and got beat the next week by a rookie, the late Art Atwood. A year later, he lost the Maximus Pro to a much smaller but far-better-conditioned-and-proportioned Darrem Charles.
40 Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Is that an IFBB Pro? on: July 06, 2014, 10:31:43 AM
Paul makes little Phil look like a kindergartener. And everyone talks about Phils arms being so great.

I get that Paul Dillet did not have the best back, but other than that, yeah, he makes little Phil look like nothing.

Yet, he constantly got beat by guys much smaller than him (i.e. Labrada, Ray).

Dillett's posing was also atrocious, relative to his peers.
41 Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: WWE Money In The Bank: With Barrett out, who wins the briefcase? The title? on: July 02, 2014, 06:01:48 AM
Let me preface this by saying that I wish Cena had not won the title last night...

HOWEVER, at this stage in his career, I think he makes a great transitional champ. Let him run with it for a little while and then have him out Reigns or Rollins over. Or even Wyatt.

Rollins would have to be built up slowly. If he simply beats Cena by cashing MITB on him, he could flame out quickly (ala Miz, after cashing the briefcase on Orton).
42 Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: WWE Money In The Bank: With Barrett out, who wins the briefcase? The title? on: June 29, 2014, 09:07:54 PM
That's why the WWE is stalle and losing money / viewership..
Cena champ again...
They need to change it up...
Cena and his 5 moves.. boring..

The Cena-Orton-Helmsley triangle strikes again.

Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, and Kane were just fillers.

Antonio Cesaro and Bray Wyatt are heels, but they aren't associated with Helmsley and the authority; so, they're out (especially with Wyatt appearing without Harper and Rowan).

Roman Reigns isn't quite ready yet. I figure he'll feud with Orton, get built up and maybe win next year's Rumble.

So that basically left Cena and Orton. I went with Orton, because the heel force has been too strong, as of late.
43 Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: WWE Money In The Bank: With Barrett out, who wins the briefcase? The title? on: June 29, 2014, 07:57:27 PM
I doubt it'll happen, but I'm going with Cesaro for the title. It's a bit early for Reigns I think, but they need some new blood in the title picture.

CENA WINS; Orton gets split wide open.

I'm losing my touch here.
44 Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: WWE Money In The Bank: With Barrett out, who wins the briefcase? The title? on: June 29, 2014, 06:52:16 PM
Two bonus matches.

Rusev vs. Big E

And, another popcorn break: Summer Rae vs. Layla (Fandango as special referee).
45 Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: WWE Money In The Bank: With Barrett out, who wins the briefcase? The title? on: June 29, 2014, 06:06:54 PM
MITB contract match is ON; and Kofi is acting a fool in there.

Rollins wins, despite two nasty bumps...and a healthy assist from Kane.

Stardust and Goldust are fighting Rybaxel. That may be the only pick I get right tonight.
46 Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: WWE Money In The Bank: With Barrett out, who wins the briefcase? The title? on: June 29, 2014, 05:22:42 PM
Usos retain; Paige retains; I'm off to a bad start.

Adam Rose vs. Paul Revere (Damien Sandow). I wonder who wins this one. And to think just last year, Sandow won Smackdown's MITB.
47 Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / WWE Money In The Bank: With Barrett out, who wins the briefcase? The title? on: June 29, 2014, 05:01:05 PM
Pre-show just reported that IC Champion Wade Barrett is out with a shoulder injury. I don't know if he's been replaced or if there will just be 5 guys in the briefcase match. With that said......

My picks:

Usos (c) vs. Harper and Rowan: Tag Team Titles - New Champs

Stardust and Goldust vs. Rybaxel - Team Fruity gets the nod for me

Paige (c) vs. Naomi: Divas title (aka popcorn time) - It's time for the bionic booty, Naomi

MITB contract ladder match: (Upset Special) - RVD

WWE World title ladder match: Orton
48 Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Monday Night RAW: Cody Rhodes is now...... on: June 17, 2014, 09:42:11 PM
Perfect example of WWE fucking up a nice 6 month story line / angle as fast as possible. They could have really had a hit on their hands if they pulled the other angle of Cody picking Golddust partners for him. You could have started off with Cody picking random people. A referee. A guy from the hot dog stand. A Girl Scout. Just stupid non wrestling characters. Then he would be commanded to only pick wrestlers. Which he would do by picking bullshit wrestlers like Brooklyn Brawler. Or other retired jobbers. Then he could be commanded to only pick active wrestlers which he would do by picking Hornswoggle. A diva. JTG. Etc... Of course now that the wrestling skill has been upped to someone that actually have been in the ring within the last 5 years, there is a chance that the Golddust team might win. Which scares Cody and he starts sabotaging the team behind GoldDusts back by tripping the partner. Distracting them. Holding their feet down when pinned near the ropes, etc... just stuff that Golddust can't see.

Then.... come along with the Stardust angle.

But no.... WWE has to fuck it all up right out of the gate.

I don't think you could have stretched this out for six months (Plus, JTG just got pink-slipped). Perhaps, "Stardust" could have debuted at the MITB event or SummerSlam at the latest.

But, the music is funky. Even if they turn Cody heel, it may have more effect with him as "Stardust".
49 Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Monday Night RAW: Cody Rhodes is now...... on: June 16, 2014, 08:57:48 PM
STARDUST!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3KoqtfVKf4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anuKuqRoC5E

Apparently, WWE has decided that, to get Cody Rhodes out of his losing slump and to quit paring Goldust with partners that keep getting beat, Cody needs to morph into a Robin/Joker/Goldust amalgamation of himself.
50 Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Money in the Bank on: June 11, 2014, 12:42:36 PM
So with DB being stripped looks like we will have a new champ at MIB....

Who's winning?

So far we have Caesaro, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio and Orton.

Alberto - no way
Sheamus - not sure if they want to give him the ball again UNLESS he wins and goes heel
Orton - please no
Caesaro - my favorite

I could also see Cena making his way into this

Why not Del Rio? He's held both belts, twice each. He's a great heel but he needs Ricardo Rodriguez back.
