26  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: why cant anybody anymore in todays times develop an 80s body on: July 23, 2014, 02:58:20 PM
From average juicers to usa competitors..no one will ever look like shawn ray, dennis newman, bob paris..etc etc...everyone's bodies in todays time look so un proportional,  no one has a small waist..no one tries to develop a thick muscular chest..no1 has any sort of discipline for creating simmetry...who wouldnt want to look like shawn ray or dennis newman..you would bang every girl and demand so much respect..

Does the ifbb have this kind of influence in the regression of exercise training..based on their current love for mass..im certain everyone in the 80s wanted to join the Arnold club

Ummmm.....NO! You wouldn't bang every girl and demand so much respect. Back in high school, I'd be reading FLEX or Muscle & Fitness and someone would see pics of guys like Ray or Paris and it's the usual "Eww!!! That's gross!!" or "He's too big! That's nasty!"

It's pretty much the same now as it was 25 years ago.
27  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: why cant anybody anymore in todays times develop an 80s body on: July 23, 2014, 01:03:36 PM
because we got concerned with the scale weight.

how many guys were under 220 in the 80's? MOST of them.

how many guys focused more on chest, abs, and arms before dorian? most of them.

we figured out that we had to force feed ourselves to get as heavy as possible.. and if you wanted that scale weight to increase, you had to put muscle on the largest areas, meaning legs and back. which meant focusing more on movements that brought into play more muscles everywhere.

who had a big, wide, thick back back in the 80's who didn't also have a bigger than average waist?

who had big, dense, thick legs back in the 80's who didn't also have a thicker torso?

I can't think of anybody.

I can.

28  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: 2014 Olympia - Dexter Jackson Top Five! on: July 23, 2014, 11:06:08 AM
Because at almost 50 years old adding weight to his body is basically suicide. It's not like he' going to put on weight and win the thing. So dropping weight would be good for his overall health. Plus whats wrong with trying to win the thing in a different class? Has anyone ever won both titles before? That would be more impressive than placing 5th thru 8th...

Winning the 212 is hardly on par with placing top 5 at the actual Olympia. The one guy who tried (David Henry, when it was the 202 class) barely made the top 15.

As for Dex winning the Olympia again, the circumstances would have to be similar to 2008: He's on; the champ is off; and another guy is out, perhaps due to injury.

You can get more than enough protein from 3 meals daily for your bodybuilding needs, dont be a brainwashed lunkhead and believe everything the supplement and magazine companies tell you, you do know that they are trying to make money right.

You do know I actually said "TWO SMALL CHICKEN BREASTS or less than two scoops of protein powder"?

Of course, supplement companies try to make money, genius. It's part of the job. Guess what! People who sell food (I.e. Chicken) try to make money also.

My point was and is, if you can get your protein from just 3 meals, then just do it and quit bleating about those EEEEEEVVVVIIIILLLLL supplement companies and their wares.
31  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: 2014 Olympia - Dexter Jackson Top Five! on: July 22, 2014, 10:43:07 AM
The guy is almost 50 and he now wants to come in heavier? Major mistake. The guy should be thinking about retiring and bringing his bodyweight down to 180 pounds and maybe live to see 55...Or at the very least bring his bodyweight down and compete at the 212 div...
.

Why would a FORMER MR. OLYMPIA who is still top 5 material go to the 212 class?

Republicans want to rape poor peoples children.

Show me an example you say? I cant right know but...

The operative word is 'Until'.

The Dems beat them to it. Look at all the inner city kids and the living conditions in which they find themselves. Which party runs their cities, counties, and school boards again?

It appears CT has had enough of Leroy's swipes at him. The funny thing is that Leroy asked why CT didn't have 21" arms 20 years ago. That leads me to believe that he doesn't know CT was once a 300+ lb powerlifter.

Nor has Leroy seen CT's videos from the 90s.

As easy it is to make it's even easier not to.

To go from 100 grams of protein per day to 130 grams or from 130 to 160 or from 160 to 190 or from 190 to 220 or from 220 to 250 grams...when is enough enough?

Where is the proof? Nowhere...meanwhile people who consume large amounts might get all kinds of illness and side effects as well as its costing them money...

How is it you cant get enough protein from 3 meals per day?

Where are these legions of folks, dropping like flies or filling ERs because of too many protein shakes?

If you were getting enough protein from just 3 meals a day, you wouldn't be bellyaching about it now.

To go from 130 to 160 grams of protein? That's all of TWO small chicken breasts (or one big one), or....less that two scoops of protein powder. Boy, what a chore that is.

When is enough enough? When you actually get bigger and stronger and don't have to blubber about this stuff anymore.

She also claimed that even with a Princeton and Harvard education she didn't know what healthy food was.

But she or anyone isn't forcing kids to eat certain foods at school.  Until that happens, nothing to see here.

The operative word is 'Until'.
36  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Obama Declares War On Chic-Fil-A on: July 21, 2014, 12:35:25 PM
Among other issues this points out how indulged many if on most young people are today. If I'd thrown food in the trash simply because I didn't like it, there would have been consequences. While the rule of thumb was that I had to taste what was served. If I didn't like it. I didn't have to eat it all but there would be nothing to replace what I didn't eat. Another thing, portions weren't so ginormous that there was enough to feed an army on my plate. This all had nothing to do with economics, since my parents were fairly well off. It was just how things were done at that time.

The food served at school was not the most appetizing and there was often not much selection. There certainly wasn't multiple selections like there are today. Pizza was unheard of. For all of my elementary school years, my mom packed my lunch because she thought it healthier than the food served at school. One funny thing I remember about high school was kids dipping the tip of their straw in the glue like brown gravy served over the mainstay instant mashed potatoes and then blow it as hard as they could off the straw towards the very high cafeteria ceiling. By the end of the year, there was an abundance of stalactite like straw papers hanging from the ceiling. The custodial staff probably cursed us come summer, when they'd have to clean them off ceiling.

So, in keeping with today's indulgent child rearing style, we should by all means only serve young people the food they like, disregarding good nutrition and their health in favor of keeping them happy. Michelle Obama, what are you thinking? Let the kids eat the Chic-Fil-A lunches they so love! Their parents don't seem concerned that they might become obese or get type II diabetes, so what makes you believe you have the right to intervene by supporting the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act passed by Congress in 2010?

Michelle Obama needs to worry about her own kids and let me raise mine. I've forgotten more about nutrition than she'll ever know.

Kids aren't getting fat because of Chic-Fil-A, contrary to your rather strange claim. And you act as if the kids were being served nothing but Pop Tarts and Doritos all day long. That was hardly the case. She arrogantly thinks that, because she was too stupid to know what to feed her kids (despite her Ivy league 'education'), everyone else must be as daft as she is, in that venue.

How hard is it to shake some powder in a bottle of water and drink it? I don't think it's necessary but not much of a hassle either. I'm blessed with a super fast metabolism and a good drug source so I eat whatever I want but I still shoot for 200 grams protein

Indeed! A post workout shake takes all of 60 seconds to make and consume?

38  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: WWE Battleground: Who gets it done tonight? on: July 21, 2014, 12:16:46 PM
That's just idiotic.

You can't pull a bait and switch, if you expect people to pay money to see your shows going forward.

That was the most anticipated match on the card, and the customers didn't get it

Fine print on all PPVs: "Card Subject to Change"

Plus, I think Rollins messed up his knee last week on RAW, after getting knocked over the top rope or off the ring apron. So, rather than just can the match, they kept having Ambrose jump Rollins throughout the night.

Obama's brother lives in squalor in a Kenyan shack.  Roll Eyes

With that said, I don't have an issue with this program on its face. BUT, the whole reducing suspension thing? That could be a problem. If it's about preventing these boys from acting up, that's fine. But, if it means slaps on the wrists for hoodlums who should get booted, I have a major problem with that.

It's much the same with honors classes. If the black and Latino kids deserve to be in a Honors classes, get them in there (hopefully, they won't get picked on and bullied by their peers as 'acting white').

Don't just stick them there merely for some 'diversity' crap. And don't can the honors program (as one NJ school did, just because there were too many white kids for the PC crowd's liking).
41  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Obama Declares War On Chic-Fil-A on: July 21, 2014, 07:02:29 AM
Yes apparently many parents are either too stupid or just don't give a flying fuck about their children's diet. If that were not the case, why is the incidence of childhood type II diabetes and obesity on the increase? Until you go to school and personally see what your kids (assuming you even have kids) are being fed, you really don't have a clue what you are talking about.

The kids are THROWING THE FOOD in the trash, costing millions of dollars. So, Michelle Obama's schtick isn't working.

Cesaro just got eliminated from the IC battle royal by....HEATH SLATER??

Well, it's official!! Cesaro's push is done!!!

Cena wins again..  Angry
That's why the product is stale.. Angry

Of course, Cena won. Again, it sets up Cena and Lesnar for SummerSlam.

Reigns isn't quite ready. Kane....PLEASE!!! Orton? Unless you have a Reigns-Orton title fight at SummerSlam (with no guarantee of a Reigns win), it makes no sense.

44  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: WWE Battleground: Who gets it done tonight? on: July 20, 2014, 07:18:29 PM
Miz WINS THE IC TITLE (after hiding on the floor for the better part of 10 minutes).
45  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: WWE Battleground: Who gets it done tonight? on: July 20, 2014, 05:57:27 PM
Rusev and Swagger are on deck. I hope this is as good as the build-up.

Edit - Rusev gets a cheap count-out win, after Swagger hits his head on the post as Rusev tried to escape the Patriot Lock....cheesy!!

Rollins wins by forfeit, only to get jumped again by Ambrose.

Now, it's Jericho and Wyatt. BTW, how did Wyatt get that black eye?

Edit - Jericho with a clean win over Wyatt, after Rowan and Harper get ejected.

46  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: WWE Battleground: Who gets it done tonight? on: July 20, 2014, 05:28:28 PM
My first pick was wrong but WOOOOOW!!!! The Usos and Wyatts absolutely tore it up, with most of the action during the 3rd fall.

Popcorn break: AJ

Fatal 4 way match, WWE World title: Cena....all to set up Heyman's "Plan C": Cena vs. Lesnar, a perfect fit, considering Lesnar's breaking the streak and his loss to Cena two years ago.

Edit - What the heck just happened? Rollins was doing an interview just moments before his match; he gets jumped by Ambrose, who get thrown out by Helmsley; instead, it's time for popcorn.
47  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / WWE Battleground: Who gets it done tonight? on: July 20, 2014, 05:12:22 PM
- Usos (c) vs Harper & Rowan: 2-of-3-falls for WWE tag team titles: I haven't seen this since 1990 (Demolition vs. Hart Foundation, SummerSlam).

I think the Wyatts finally get it.

- Battle Royal for Intercontinental Championship: Sheamus, just to unify the belts and get rid of two secondary titles.

- Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt: Jericho, they owe him after making him job to Fandango at WM 29.

- Jack Swagger vs. Alexander Rusev: Rusev suffers his first loss.....WE THE PEOPLE!!

Edit - Wyatts just won the first fall. Usos got a cheap roll up for the second fall.
48  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: There goes Cesaro's push....and Jack Swagger may be getting his groove back. on: July 20, 2014, 10:11:14 AM
When did Cesaro break from Heyman??

Before WWE generally hotshots someone they generally cool them off by jobbing them out. The other problem they are having is Reigns gaining popularity they cannot have 2 strong faces at one which is ludicrous..

When Cesaro went to face Big E, Heyman was not with him. The commentators were talking about rumors of a split between the two. Then, during a promo with Stephanie and Hunter, the "Paul-rus" shows up claiming he's biding his time and making his move. He further stated that while he admired the Authority's "Plan B", they should call him if they wanted a foolproof, guaranteed, can't-miss "Plan C" (which sounds like a reference to Lesnar).
49  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / There goes Cesaro's push....and Jack Swagger may be getting his groove back. on: July 19, 2014, 09:56:16 PM
We all thought the pops Antonio Cesaro was getting as part of the "Real Americans" meant he was heading for prime time. He basically hijacked Swagger's gimmick. And, after winning the Andre-the-Giant-Memorial Battle Royal, it looks as if he'd arrived.

Then, Cesaro dumps Zeb Coulter for Paul Heyman, turns heel, and it's gone south. He's jobbed three weeks in a row to Big E and Kofi Kingston, twice.

Now, Big E and Cesaro are feuding.

Meanwhile, Jack Swagger is back in the spotlight. He looked to be heading for a world title at WrestleMania 29, before getting popped for a DUI and weed. Then, he fizzled, got lumped in a tag team, and watched Cesaro steal his thunder.

But, it appears everything old is new again. It seems the old USA vs. Russia thing is back in style, thanks to Alexander Rusev and Lana (hoochie skirt, long legs, and all). Swagger has turned face and it appears the American hero thing works better with him than it did with Big E.

To top it all off, Heyman is apparently no longer with Cesaro. And, it seems this was just filler time for Heyman, until Brock Lesnar decides he wants to step in the ring again.
50  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: I want to feel like I did in my early 20s again, suggestions? on: July 19, 2014, 09:46:33 PM
So I'm about to turn 34 and and I can feel my test levels have continued to drop noticeably since about 31 or so. Lower sex drive, increased lethargy and muscle fatigue/soreness in general, increased irritation and anger. Had my blood work done a few times over the past couple of years and it was on the lower side of 'normal' for my age, but not low enough for trt. Never been on any gear. Would love to feel like I did in my early/mid 20s again, suggestions? Hop on to legit trt dosages, up it more?

I doubt you need any of that, at this point. You're only in your mid 30s. I'm 41 and, as far as sex drive and energy go, I've never felt better. The joints feel 41 but the rest of me feels great.

How's your diet? Are you getting enough healthy fats and cholesterol to make hormones in your body? As for your sore muscles, you may be overdoing it in the gym. If you're training to failure, try laying off for a while.

You may also have to reduce the number of super-heavy sets you do. Give your body more time to recuperate. At most, you could use some Tribulus and/or DHEA, along with the aforementioned tips and you should be good to go. But, even that may not be necessary.
