U haven't been here very long..welcome to the board junior. Ur coming to the movie half way through.
I understand that debates on the internet are not regulated nor "fair". It is after all the internet. I just can't help but observe that about 20+ threads discussing Palin has repubs in it wanting to bash Obama instead. Perhaps they don't wanna face the facts about Palin?

I guess all people who bash Obama are neocons...I also guess u have no idea what the hell ur talking about because u have no idea what a neocon is. Let me guess anybody who thinks Obama is an idiot must be a racist right? Pallin has more leadership experience then Obama...but u know the most important thing about Palin....SHE IS NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT..hope that helps "tiger". Allow me to explain my reasoning: 1.) I'm being a annoying prick and not discussing the topic that is supposed to be discussed. I fling poo instead. 2.) I generalize and say that all anti-Obama's are neocons. Kinda like how must repubs on here: 1.) Say derogatory shit to people opposing your view. Don't wanna stay on topic and instead bash Obama even though it's a Palin thread. 2.) Call all of the Obama supporters leftwing-nuts or claim that they have a disorder. Or why not "commies".

Go ahead...please show me what job Obama held full time for longer then 4 years. U go get em tiger, oh wait u can't.
Wasn't Palin a governor for less than 2 years? The very thing you like to brag about? Hasn't she lied on multiple occasions since becoming the VP candidate? Can she defend USA from Russia because she can see them from Alaska? Notice how I deflect the subject at hand and fling poo at the opponent. A tactic that is well-used by Obama-bashing neocons.

I've been to Europe alot and will be headed back after Christmas...Obama is the most Liberal senator we have..period. I didn't make that up, they rank them. U cannot compare our two countries, and while I'm sure Sweden is great its only slightly larger the California and has close to 9 million people. U have a social welfare based system which I'm sure works great for Sweden but we have 350 million people and unfortunatly we have global responsibilities. The closest I've been to Sweden is Norway twice, lovely country.
Yeah I do realize our two countries are very different. Just trying to make a point to show that left-wing politics isn't all bad, and if America could strive for a more socialized approach it doesn't have to mean disaster. Unfortunately the American people seems to be too close-minded to notice what's going on and automatically dismiss anything "unamerican". USA is heading for a disaster in it's current state, just a matter of time. I just cannot for the life of me see how people defend Bush. That said I do think a republican approach isn't bad either and Ron Paul is a good example of that. You just need to get rid of this fundamentalist neoconservative bullshit.

Based on what? More specifically, what makes her underqualified (as VP) vs. what makes Obama (who's never been a mayor, governor, commander-in-chief of a military) and has but 4 years in the Senate qualified to be president, as he is headlining the Dems' ticket? You like to compare Palin with Obama and basically say that they both have little experience but Palin excels of the two of them. Even though I don't agree with your conclusion I do see your point and it raises a question: Why set the bar so incredibly low? You people REALLY have to dig and search and twist facts and stories to make Palin/Obama meet the criteria. I bet there are dozens of people out there in America ready to lead with much higher competence whether they are Repubs or Libs. Really shows what a sad state America is in.
Do you have any idea that we Americans couldn't give a rat's behind how "terrified" Europe is of McCain/Palin? We heard that garbage four years ago. We vote how we want to vote. Yeah and look how that turned out. The bush administration is a disaster and America is about to go in the shitter. Usually only hardcore neocons disagree with this.
- McCain may outlive us all; his mama is 96. On a sadder note, the Dems lost a congresswoman who was 13 years younger than McCain. So, this idea that McCain will keel over and die, the second he's sworn into Office is rather spurious. Mccains has already had cancer and is on a ton of medications as we speak. 70+ years old and in this type of medical condition does not inspire confidence.

Europe wants Obama so they manipulate him. He's their type of guy, socialist, taxer...very naive. The terrorists want him because he's weak. If ur really a Ron Paul guy, there is no way in hell u should be supporting Obama. I think all u RP guys are full of shit. RP represents a very conservative branch of the Republican party. U don't go from supporting him to supporting a super Lib.
It's all a conspiracy eh? I think voting Obama is important even though you might have little support for him. Voting for a third party certainly makes your point but to actually contribute and get rid of this Mccain/Palin travesty, vote Obama. As said, the lesser of two evils. Damn man, have you ever been to Europe? Obama is NOT a super lib, that's something Bill O'Reilly would say. You should come to Sweden, here the streets are clean, we haven't waged a war for 200 years, political stability, MUCH less poor people and everyone gets free healthcare. Meanwhile the middle class still gets get to keep their money and the rich stay rich. Awesome isn't it?

Why exactly is she terrible....first off she's the VP pick. Second she has fired up the Republican party like nobody else running has. She has directly or indirectly altered the way this race has been run. The Dems tried to get here and its back-fired. Now Congress could be in play and States like New York are close to being in play for McCain. I don't expect him to win that state, but come on. Its not all about her either, but its about how Obama is dealing with her. Alot of energy is being put into attacking her instead of showcasing Obama's plans or even his guy, Biden. U remember Joe Biden right, dem pick for VP. Her way of firing up the repub rally is not important. What's discussed is that she dangerously underqualifed. The scary thing is that americans are not seeing it. Do you have any idea how terrified Europe are of Mccain/Palin? They reek of lies and pure incompetence and since USA still plays an important role in the world they are outright DANGEROUS to the rest of us. Why the hell Ron Paul got kicked out is beyond me. But I do think Obama is the lesser of two evils here.

And, you and a number of other liberals are so DESPERATE to find dirt on Palin, now that McCain is winning (or at least, AHEAD in the polls, both national and state-by-state), that you're banking on the National Enquirer to be right about an alleged affair Palin supposedly had.
BTW, she did kill the "Bridge to Nowhere". She supported initially, until she found out it was going to cost more than was initially stated. McCain found out what the real price for it would be and voted against it, while OBAMA voted for it.
Why does repubs have such a hard time discussing something without mentioning "liberals" or "commies"? It doesn't take much more than the intelligence of monkey to question the choice of Sara Palin. You sure can question Obama and that's great! Critical thinking and something good comes out of it hopefully. Why can't you do the same for Palin? Or are you just one of those neocons that supports the republican candidates NO MATTER WHAT?

Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Britain Adopts Islamic Law, Gives Sharia Courts Full Power to Rule on Civil Case
|
on: September 15, 2008, 05:53:14 PM

Islamic law has been officially adopted in Britain, with sharia courts given powers to rule on Muslim civil cases.
The government has quietly sanctioned the powers for sharia judges to rule on cases ranging from divorce and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.
Rulings issued by a network of five sharia courts are enforceable with the full power of the judicial system, through county courts or the country's High Court, a part of its Supreme Court system.
Previously, the rulings of sharia courts in Britain could not be enforced, and depended on voluntary compliance among Muslims.
Politicians and church leaders expressed concerns that this could mark the beginnings of a “parallel legal system” based on sharia for some British Muslims.
Dominic Grieve, the shadow home secretary, said: “If it is true that these tribunals are passing binding decisions in the areas of family and criminal law, I would like to know which courts are enforcing them because I would consider such action unlawful. British law is absolute and must remain so.”
Give it up and move to Canada...let the rags have it all. How depressing......
Goddammit why do islam feel the need to control everything, Britain's legal system is fine, leave it alone. Fuckin pricks.

Better educated Americans would = more successful people. So therefor, the average political affiliation would slide to the right.
Even though people become better educated, not everyone can start their own companies and make big bucks. There still has to be some sort of middle/working class. Don't you think their increased political awareness would make them lean more to the left? They are more dependent on a welfare system and would therefore demand more than their precious "freedom"?

Which way do you think politics would go?
A general observation from MY PART is that the more educated a population is, the more to the left they become. Not necessarily "commies" as The Coah like to put it but they usually stay away from hardcore neocon-fundamentalist politics.
Why so many people still support Mccain/Palin is because they fail to analyze the situation by themselves and rely on cheap and dirty political smack talk and swallows it like DA from an old man. Uneducated rednecks basically.
Does the American education system manage to give young children a criticizing world all-american view?

He's had cancer 4 times that we know of... and earlier this year had an odd series of band-aids on this head - in those same cancer spots - where he claimed to have bumped his head on the limo door repeatedly.
historically, presidential candidates have lied like crazy about this. JFK in 60 hid painkilled addiction, hodgkins, and degenerative back condition. Tsongas in 1992 hid cancer, and has died since. We'll never know most of the stuff that people hide.
Rob, if someone arranged it, would you say yes to a live open debate with The Coach? Or why not Mccain himself?

Wow....
Mccain smoked 2 packs a day for 25 years.
He has degenerative arthritis. He's had cataract surgery.
Also, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, he's Arthritic, has had Vertigo.
He's on 6 different medications including for Kidneys, cholesterol, sleep, blood clots.
Quite the cocktail for political stability.

...no you don't.
As I said, even Jesus would be an atheist if he were alive today... Jesus predicted the end of the world within the first century, so by this stage he'd be pretty sure there is no god. Especially after space exploration has shown that there is neither a sea (as Genesis claims and the ancients believed) nor a heaven in outer space, and that's nothing in comparison to the strides in medical science (no possessing spirits that must be cast out etc)... and biology (the microbe theory of disease etc).
Obama isn't a liar for professing a belief in god... not any more than I am a liar when I profess my belief in Santa Claus in discussion with my seven year old niece.
