Thats ok...the media will blame "steroids".

It looks like Nancy Grace was the first to the punch. My buddy told me today that she had DDP on the other night and it was basically a bash on "evil hormones."
2  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Sting signs with WWE on: April 14, 2014, 06:06:58 PM
I honestly don't see the point. How does he fit in?

Well - and we've touched on this before - it could easily be more about Vince satisfying his own ego more than what's good for the show. The old man has done lots of things out of spite; even to spite his own product/company.
3  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Jeff Jarrett Officially Announces Global Force Wrestling Promotion: on: April 14, 2014, 06:04:39 PM
Me two. Modern day wrestling/ entertainment needs to be saved.

Dixie was not the answer.

Although, she's got some nice tits!!

Yes.
Apparently, heart disease ran in his Dad's side of the family.

I remember this too. Frankly...I don't blame Sting. I would hold Vince up if I were him.

And it sounds like the guy's got nothing to lose.
6  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Jeff Jarrett Officially Announces Global Force Wrestling Promotion: on: April 14, 2014, 03:46:25 PM
Jerry does plus connections. I would imagine they'd want to get the ball going first for a few years. Probably sign some former TNA stars.

I hope hey can make a go of it!
7  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Jeff Jarrett Officially Announces Global Force Wrestling Promotion: on: April 14, 2014, 03:30:53 PM
Knowing the Jarretts and their unlimited source of cash it will come.

They really have that kind of money?

8  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Sting signs with WWE on: April 14, 2014, 03:30:11 PM
Hes made his mark in the business and has become very successful earning 1mil per year since 1996 and 500 g's per year prior to that which by pro wrestling standards is very good. Hes always been squeaky clean. Never read or heard anything bad about him and he did it all OUTSIDE WWE. You can bet your bottom dollar that when/if Vince signed him (I'll believe it when I see it) you can bet its for big bucks. Strictly an ego move by Vince to sign the one guy who flat out refused to work for him and turned down may a  offer in the past from WWE.

I recall Borden bluntly claiming in an interview his concerns over how Vince would use him. This was when the old man was systematically burying a lot of the WCW talent after he purchased the company around 2002.

yes yes, i know... but it's also a board where people do not read.... they just reply

that was my point

i know you miss me monty

And you know the rules.

I've defended you from insults, and a few days later defended the same person who insulted you...and you're BOTH CANADIANS, which makes my acts of dignity all the more remarkable!

 Cool
10  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Sting signs with WWE on: April 14, 2014, 01:47:27 AM
I just mean that overall he's no Bret Hart in the ring and he's not Ric Flair on the mic.  A solid performer with a great gimmick though.

I give him credit for his impressive longevity. It's not easy to stick around this long in this business.
11  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Nutrition, Products & Supplements / Re: Advice on creatine on: April 13, 2014, 12:40:13 PM
Are you serious

Bill Phillips likened the creatine and HMB combo to Deca.

12  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: DDP = Miracle Worker on: April 13, 2014, 08:34:41 AM
I totally agree.
he had a very hot wife at one time.. kimberly...
Never understood why...she married DDP.  Undecided
But she was extremely hot..

It's been said that Kimberly was a very nice person backstage until they promoted her to "Head Nitro Girl." Roll Eyes At that point, she went on a huge ego trip.

There's a popular story floating around that Scott Steiner "tuned up" both Dallas and Kim after they got Tammy Sytch fired from WCW. I don't know if what the Page's said was true or not, but it resulted in Sunny's termination.
That girl (Sunny) found her way into more trouble and drama in such a short time than anyone I know of.
13  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Nutrition, Products & Supplements / Re: Advice on creatine on: April 13, 2014, 06:08:03 AM
It's not so much that it aids in absorption....but it helps it disolves into the water better. Basically undisclosed creatine gets eliminated from the body. Dissolving it in warm water completely disolves it.

Which, in turn, improves absorption in the body. Undecided

Hasnt done much.   Im wondering if i tore something or its just an overuse type thing.

Sharp pain or dull ache?

Any redness or swelling?

Any stiffness or tightness in the knee?
15  Getbig Alternative Boards / Y Board - The Player's Club / Re: The Y board lifting thread. on: April 12, 2014, 06:57:01 PM
Inner left knee.   My last event this past weekend was torture.   Nsaid?

I'm just wondering if you've got a Baker's cyst.
16  Getbig Alternative Boards / Y Board - The Player's Club / Re: The Y board lifting thread. on: April 12, 2014, 06:56:09 PM
NSAIDs are ibuproben/naproxen, etc...

Yes - non-steroidal anti-inflammatory.
17  Getbig Alternative Boards / Y Board - The Player's Club / Re: The Y board lifting thread. on: April 12, 2014, 06:43:27 PM
Regardless, if it's an inflammation issue, you can try the time-honored tradition or rest, ice, and OTC NSAID's.

Where is the pain, and is there any fluid build up around the knee?
18  Getbig Alternative Boards / Y Board - The Player's Club / Re: The Y board lifting thread. on: April 12, 2014, 06:40:40 PM
You guys ever deal w knee issues?   Think i have bursitus

19  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Jeff Jarrett Officially Announces Global Force Wrestling Promotion: on: April 12, 2014, 06:30:26 PM
And unlike Dixie..the Jarretts know what theyre doing.

Why did the Jarrett's ever sell TNA to Dixie? I never got the details.
20  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Wrestling Board / Re: Sting signs with WWE on: April 12, 2014, 01:52:23 PM
It will definitely be a part time deal for big money. Wonder if he will actually wrestle or be an ambassador like Hogan.

I expect him to wrestle, simply because I also expect him to have a "retirement" match when the time comes.

Jeff Jarrett issued the following mission statement recently:

Quote
"[WWE] have built a brand over the last 50, 60 years. And truly, [WrestleMania] weekend is the perfect example of just how global their brand is. Professional wrestling has been around since the advent of television. There is definitely room, space for a brand new promotion to come on the scene. And we're going to put out the very best product that we can. Our mission statement is going to be, right at the very top, that we are going to put out a professional wrestling product that listens to the fans, engages the fans. We are going to immerse ourselves with the wrestling fan and that is going to be first and foremost."

Below is the full press release:

JARRETTS UNVEIL NEW WRESTLING PROMOTION: JOIN THE FORCE!

NASHVILLE After weeks of speculation and unprecedented internet buzz surrounding the hashtag #ItsComing IT IS HERE!

Legendary performer and third-generation promoter Jeff Jarrett and his wife, Karen, are set to unveil Global Force Wrestling (GlobalForceWrestling.com), which promises to be the most fan-interactive and immersive wrestling experience in history.

"Because of new media, new technology and more 'in-tune' fans than we've ever had, wrestling is poised for another boom like it experienced in the mid-1980s and late 1990s," Jeff Jarrett said. "What we're going to deliver is a multi-platform, innovative brand that will engage fans in ways they've never experienced. It will provide a fresh perspective inside the business that fans have been clamoring for."

Jarrett, the founder of TNA wrestling and a 12-time world champion who wrestled in WWE, WCW and numerous international promotions, and his wife, Karen, have been laying the foundation for GFW since January 2014.

"Jeff was born into this business," Karen Jarrett said. "It's his life's passion. He saw a unique opportunity to fill a need in professional wrestling, and he has tirelessly devoted himself physically, mentally and emotionally to doing just that."

Videos of the Jarretts previewing the new promotion attached to the hashtag #ItsComing have garnered more than a million views. Meanwhile, Jeff and Karen have been searching the United States and the international ranks in search of undiscovered talent. The response has been overwhelming, with more than 400 performers from across the globe already in the evolving GFW talent database.

"The reality is we want to build a brand in which fans are watching our wrestlers evolve from day one and are truly invested in the lives of our talent in and out of the ring," Jarrett said.

Global Force Wrestling expects to make several more key announcements in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

24  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Nutrition, Products & Supplements / Re: Advice on creatine on: April 12, 2014, 03:55:39 AM
What I've been doing lately, is drinking my creatine before training. I wait about 20-30 mins and then drink about 40 grams of dextrose. My rationale is that creatine and dextrose have different transit times through digestion, with creatine taking longer.

The insulin spike is desirable for cellular "delivery," and taking the creatine and carbs together may cause a premature spike - before the creatine is in circulation. I don't have exact numbers for the absorption times, so this is mostly a shoot from the hip kind of thing. A couple of years ago, I discussed this method with Donkey Kong, who's done plenty of his own reading on the matter.

Anyway, this is what I've been doing with favorable results!
25  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Training Logs and Info / Re: WAR IS COMING 2014 (more training video's) on: April 12, 2014, 03:47:06 AM
I'm sure you can relate to this: in the middle of the night I got up to go to the restroom and as I stood up my entire back locked up it felt like every muscle in my back flexed... pain is the word, I had to slowly sit and lay back down to relax the back. waited 5min and tried to get up again. I told this to my training partner and he couldn't comprehend why my back did that. I said your 24 I'm 44... you will one day.

Ha, ha!!
I'm about halfway between your ages at 35, and I can tell which direction I'm headed in. Wink  I don't stretch and warm up like I should, although I've been doing much better lately.

One thing I've noticed that has really minimized general body ache is cardio. I've been doing at least 20 mins. at level 7 on the StairMaster, often with another 15-25 mins. on the treadmill after my workouts, and have noticed things "moving" a lot better than they did a few months ago. It hasn't negated any size or strength gains that I can tell, although I'm not exactly following a contest prep diet, either. Grin

I've also begun using my foam roller and tennis ball a bit for myofascial work. Joe DeFranco has a couple of good videos posted on YouTube. In fact, I'm becoming a big fan of his articles and tutorials. I wish Poliquin would follow suit in offering more in the way of public videos.
