The rate is 100 compressions / minute.

"Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen gives you the appropriate BPM. Just don't sing along....
2  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Injury and Rehabilitation / Re: Open appendectomy. Recovery time? on: October 21, 2009, 01:11:14 AM
wait until your wound heals completely before you do anything too strenuous. Mine took 8 weeks to fully heal up and it was 12 weeks before I felt anything like normal. Mine had perforated as well and I did get a wound infection too. Try and start with a bit of core strenthening work because they cut through your abdominals. If it hurts, don't do it!
3  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Injury and Rehabilitation / Re: Ultrasound Therapy for damaged joint tissues on: October 21, 2009, 01:05:49 AM
Most of the physios I know don't use ultrasound much any more because there is little evidence to suport it for tissue healing. It can be good for heat which will make you feel better but so will a hot pack or wheat bag.
If you have a meniscus tear you will probably need surgery to fix that. Heat or ice may help with your symptoms.

My 360 Elite just died. It comes back to life with the 4 towels for 20 minutes thing but then dies again when it cools down.

Need to find my receipt before I get on to Microsoft..... Angry

that clip was the first time I have ever seen Strydom's back. They never used to show him from behind in the magazines - only side or front poses

Anapod explorer is a good way to get music on your ipod without the evils of iTunes

Mark Hunt is a beast. I don't know what it is with those maoi (spelling?) people

He is Samoan, born in New Zealand. Samoans tend to be big, strong lads.....
9  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / E-Board - Movies, Music, TV, Videogames, Comics / Re: Black Flag and Rollins on: December 16, 2007, 10:24:05 PM says:

"Before Black Flag broke up in early 1986, Rollins had already toured as a solo spoken word artist.[18] He released two solo records in 1987, Hot Animal Machine, a collaboration with guitarist Chris Haskett, and Drive by Shooting, recorded as "Henrietta Collins and the Wifebeating Childhaters";[19] Rollins also released his second spoken word album, Big Ugly Mouth in the same year. Along with Haskett, Rollins soon added Andrew Weiss and Sim Cain, both former members of Ginn's side-project Gone, and called the new group the Rollins Band. The band toured relentlessly,[20] and their 1987 debut album, Life Time, was quickly followed by the outtakes and live collection Do It. The band continued to tour throughout 1988; 1989 marked the release of another Rollins Band album, Hard Volume.[21] Another live album, Turned On, and another spoken word release, Live at McCabe's, followed in 1990."

Sounds like solo stuff and starting the Rollins band...

I was impressed by Conan The barbarian when I saw Arnold in it, and then what sealed it for me was seeing Gary Strydom and Rich Gaspari in a Muscle & Fitness mag in 1987. I had never seen veins like Gaspari's before!
11  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Mixed Martial Arts (MMA/UFC) / Re: Hamil vs. Bisping on: September 11, 2007, 09:55:48 PM
I used to quite like Bisping but he was always a bit arrogant. He got a total gift for this one. It will be interesting to see a rematch if it happens...

Thanks for the DL links Bluto!

I preferred the late 80s as that is when I got into BB properly - Gaspari, Haney, Labrada, Strydom, Fox.
Early 90s were cool too until the guts took over - Yates, Munzer, Benaziza etc. The drug tested Olympia was a laugh too....

17  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / E-Board - Movies, Music, TV, Videogames, Comics / Re: Baseball or Cricket Bat: Which Offers The Better Beat Down? on: March 22, 2007, 10:58:20 PM
I'm curious because they used a cricket bat in Shaun of the Dead and a baseball bat in Dawn of the Dead

Shaun is a British movie and they don't play a lot of baseball over there. I agree with the baseball bat being more effective due to the lack of drag and technique required to use it. You have to have a cricket bat the right way around to administer a good beating and you are in trouble if the grip twists.

I Have 2 x 250GB  and a 300GB in my machine, 2x 120 GB and a 250GB in my girlfriends machine, a 250GB external and 40GB in my laptop Grin.

My external does the rounds of my friends every once in a while and comes back with much new goodness on it. I have around 300Gb of music and a LOT of video. Down here, 320Gb is the optimum price point - they are about NZ$150 or so....

24  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Injury and Rehabilitation / Re: fell off the deck on: November 23, 2006, 12:54:45 AM
Good sign that you could walk - means it is probably not broken. Worth seeing a good physio though as you will need a good bit of rehab by the sounds to get back into things. It might be worth going to the doc as well just to exclude an avulsion fracture as you heard a loud pop. Rehab it well and don't do silly stuff as ankles can be ongoing - I did mine nearly 3 years ago and still have trouble with it - tore one ligament and sprained the other 3 and eventually had some surgery to clean out some bone chips from it.

Rice is a good place to start though Smiley
25  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Injury and Rehabilitation / Re: Compartment Syndrome! on: November 12, 2006, 08:54:19 PM
I used to see it on the Ortho wards at the hospital where I work at times. It can occur after tib/fib fractures or radius/ulna fractures if there is lots of bleeding. They are careful to do regular neuro obs and minimise movement until someone is operated on. It seems to result from too much fluid in an enclosed space, like the compartments of the lower leg, that causes swelling, pain and nerve compression. The docs here treat it with anti-inflammatories, elevation and bedrest. Sometimes people with have a fasciotomy to release the pressure if it is really bad (i.e. deteriorating neurological function).
