51  Getbig Alternative Boards / V Board - General Random Threads / Re: does anybody actually like vince basil? on: December 03, 2013, 04:07:01 AM
Dealing with negativity on Getbig, huh? What a joke. This place is a cesspool of nasty people. No one knows who most characters are. So a guy like me who is known has to do what? There is no formula. The persistent abusers I literally do not reply to. That is one way to deal with some of the negativity. For the rest who cares? It is just internet banter. Some see some of what I post as amusing. Jesus, if you don't see my sense of humour then that is a worry. But I guess if you have a mental set that I am not funny you literally will not see anything that way. Is that my problem? Who cares. All this analyzing and for what? So you don't like my on line persona. Big deal. I don't post shit like that.

You're far from a very nice, person, yourself.

You constantly talk about this place being a cesspool.

.. and I still remember your sweeping negative generalisations about all Australians (reiterating I am British in Australia and therefore the victim of a lot of Australian obnoxiousness, myself).  Sorry I can't find the thread for the Australians of this board, it was as you might imagine - a bit inflammatory.

I also remember your "what you" thread, where you basically randomly attacked anybody who posted including a surprise attack of Ron for being respected and involved in bodybuilding but not training.  Then backtracked like it was a joke Roll Eyes  Another classic Basile attack on this place.

The common thread in all this being you do a lot of talking about how you hate the place you are - yet, you remain.

And thus, you are disliked.

If you can't hack that - or that that overshadows your humour, tough.  I believe you have an extremely high opinion of yourself (and it may be warranted - you have done interesting things) and are essentially, here to attempt to feed your ego.  You don't get the respect you deserve, but you stubbornly remain, casting your negative opinion on anybody who disagrees with you.  The typical response being that you are smarter than them.

It's like I say, you've done interesting things - I give you respect.  I'm just not a fan of your negativity.  You don't need to worry about what I think of it, Vince.  My message is only that you appear to be slightly unaware that you are mostly a bummer, here.   Your constant complains about just about everybody, here are not endearing you to anybody.

Chin up, you're probably a decent guy in real life.  Most people, here are.  I think you know that.
52  Getbig Alternative Boards / V Board - General Random Threads / Re: does anybody actually like vince basil? on: December 02, 2013, 03:27:14 PM
Rocket you are not as smart as you think you are. You fail to see my sense of humour. I guess that is easy to do if you already have made up your mind about someone. You are anonymous. Let see how you would handle slanderous attacks on this forum. So don't think you are morally superior because you are a coward like 90% of forum members are.

It is not immoral for you to constant butt heads with people trying to get a reaction and waste your time - it's fucking stupid and you have been on the internet long enough to have figured this out a long time ago.  It has nothing to do with being a real personality, here - everybody is the victim of trolling on the internet.  It's how they deal with it that is the question.

So again, I stipulate - I only dislike you on this board because you have not yet realised how to deal appropriately with negativity.  Nothing to do with morals.  I am not morally superior to you, Vince.

Maybe one day you'll understand the vastly difference experience you will have if you adopt this mindset.
53  Getbig Alternative Boards / V Board - General Random Threads / Re: does anybody actually like vince basil? on: December 01, 2013, 04:43:28 AM

Rocket doesn't know me personally yet he makes statements as if they are factual instead of mere opinion.

That's a ridiculous response and the absolute antithesis of what I actually said.  I acknowledged my judgements of you as personal opinion, I also acknowledge that internet personality does not describe how a person is in real life (read between the lines, Vince - I acknowledged that I do not know you) and I also point out that people give you a lot of shit on this board.

I've always shot straight with you, Vince.  Always acknowledged the fact that people are unkind to you.  Any "facts" I presented were in your favour (my mistake, I said you weren't funny - well, you're not).

That's why you will never have any sense of righteousness over me, Vince - I don't like the character of you on this board because I don't respect how you deal with that negativity you receive.  That's a legitimate opinion (whether it's fair or not).  The moment you lighten up and deal with trolls how they should be dealt with (ie, not feeding them) is the moment I would retract that opinion.

All in all, I think that's pretty fair.  I'm not saying that because you're old you're sexually attracted to children, I'm not making up shit about how your photography is some sort of excuse to get away with expressing that, nothing - I never post bullshit about you - at all.   No bullshit - just personal dislike for how you conduct yourself against unfair treatment you receive.
54  Getbig Alternative Boards / V Board - General Random Threads / Re: does anybody actually like vince basil? on: November 30, 2013, 08:39:22 PM
Personally, I believe the Vince of this board is obnoxious (internet personality is often a distinctly different style to the real thing) and thus, difficult to "like" per se.

I know people aren't that kind to him - but I've never had respect (and in fact had contempt) for someone who deals with people being assholes by simply being unkind back.  It's not a particularly effective method.  It's the territory of people who are prepared to waste their time trying to win an argument that will never be one and completely worthless.  Fair is fair and there is no doubt in my mind that Vince Basile is not a bad person, but he is one who infects this board with a negativity that isn't balanced by good humour.

There are a lot of people who are far more obnoxious than Vince, here - they're just less so because the balance is that we're here to amuse ourselves, not argue all the time.
55  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Greg Kovacs dies at 44 on: November 29, 2013, 03:52:12 AM
Once one of us performs his actual biopsy, that's when we will know how prominent the myocardial fibrosis was. Unfortunately, since none of us will get to see what his heart looks like, it's a mute point.

As for now, since no one on this forum will have access to his medical records, all we can do is speculate.

The easiest thing to do is to directly attribute and/or assume that his heart failure was caused due to his steroid use, but without his medical records, past blood work (to see whether he suffered from hyperlipidemia, hypertension, hypo/hyper-thyroidism, diabetes, kidney failure and to even possibly gauge what his BNP was), chest x-ray films, an echocardiogram, ekg, prior stress test results and even a prior CT or MRI scan of his heart, we only have speculation at best. If we had many of these elements, we can then get a better idea of what the full cardiac story was, but going only by pictures off the internet and rumors, we can't possibly assume anything.

To be clear, I'm not saying that steroids could have not played a role, but to directly attribute steroid use to his death is speculation at best.

Lets allow for the man to rest in peace.

I read a tinge of what has been said a bit more specifically in what you said and I'm sorry if I'm getting you wrong, but I'm addressing anybody who thinks this:

Quite a few people here do not seem to respect the fact that there are two things that happen when a human dies.  They are both absolutely programmed into us.

One is the personal element - your connection with that person, memories etc

The other is: how can I avoid this from happening to me?  The survival element.   Fuck, he died from a tiger attack!  I'm not getting into a tiger pen.

I really don't understand these attempts by some people to suppress others from trying to learn about a subject that let's face it, many put their head in the sand about.  Clearly we have physicians in this thread providing information.  It is not dishonoring the individual to discuss or speculate on an issue when the likelyhood is that someone that heavy died from being that heavy.  It's not disrespectful, it's downright constructive to the alive portion of the human race - whom I'm sure Greg probably cared for.

To me, what is disrespectful is people trying to say to others, you shouldn't be allowed to speculate on why this person died, you shouldn't be looking at your own situation, wondering if there are any parallels.  Honestly, I think making out that we're supposed to tiptoe around the cause of death for the first two weeks is faux political correctness

This isn't Greg's funeral.  Very people, here know Greg and this is not the equivalent of mindlessly pushing grieving family members for information in their time of sadness.  It's a message board that Greg didn't give a toss about because he had a real life.  There are a lot of people who lift weights on this board and I'm betting a lot of people with history of heart problems in their family.  Me, personally - I'm reading what is said and learning a bit.
56  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: What Would You Do? on: November 28, 2013, 07:02:26 AM
Let me see, you have not seen a country.... Huh well news flash, you are blind then because the US is NOT even the top 30 countries where people kill per capita, so what's up with all those countries?

Yeah, I don't think you're really zeroing in on the specifics of my point, here.

"No regard for their future"

Not, "most murders".

You are right, there are more murders per capita in other countries.  Mostly not strictly first-world to begin with.

More importantly, the US has the highest incarceration rate per capita in the world.  The US has the largest amount of people who are caught and imprisoned for crime.

So like I say, I've never seen a country with more dumb c u n t s living well and getting themselves put in jail for murder, without thinking it through.  Brazil has like 7 times the murder rate and under a third for incarceration rate.  Committing murder, in a non first world country like Brazil, where your future is not living easy on good land and in a great country is nowhere near as stupid (or as likely to meet with eventual jail time).
57  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: What Would You Do? on: November 28, 2013, 06:22:38 AM

Wronged?  We are talking about child molesting and the ALL deserve ti die. No exceptions.

If some man was touching your child in a sexual manner, and you found out about it....and had a weapon nearby...what would you do?
You do realize that your child will never be the same after the molestation, don't you?

You're both missing my point - my point is, I've never seen a country with more stupid c u n t s who kill each other with no regard for their own future for all manner of stimuli.  You looked at me crooked, fuck it, it's war!  Shoot first, ask questions later.

So, regardless of whether someone is a child molester, upon finding this out, you don't tell anybody that you're planning nefarious revenge.  Particularly someone who has such loose lips, he posts on a message board Roll Eyes

The key point, here is "no regard for their own future".  People ending up in jail because they were angry with someone.  It's not really a particularly profitable transaction.

To answer your question, Parker - I'm not sure, but I don't see how me killing someone without serious planning and going to jail is going to be the correct way to react to finding out a kid of mine has been molested - I know that.  IE that weapon nearby is NOT the answer, that I would be sure of.

I'm not sure death is really that bad of a punishment for a piece of shit who molests children.  I'm sort of more oriented towards ensuring maximal psychological destruction and I don't think killing someone particularly satisfies that - I'm thinking that you've either got to torture the person physically or mentally and jail is really the only "torture" you have at your disposal that doesn't put you at risk from being another victim of this bullshit.

So I think I'd probably opt for sending them to jail - given that I can't imagine being anything other than physically repulsed by carrying out torture, myself.  If that person is ever released, things would be different.

I respect your opinions that a child molester needs to die - well, the child molester needs to know he's going to die for a while, before.  It's not enough to just walk up to someone and top them.  It's a ticket out of any responsibility for such acts.

Also, just to be clear - I don't know anybody who has been more negatively affected by the err, results of a rapist, more than I have - so yeah, sadly, I am familiar with the damage that occurs to the victim.  My best friend was raped multiple times.  She's essentially unable to empathise or see any value in herself at all - and that has in the end destroyed our friendship.  No point describing the entire story - but it's brutal.

59  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: What Would You Do? on: November 27, 2013, 05:49:37 AM
I'm always surprised by the cheapness of life in America.

I know you're not all like this but no country does "I have been wronged, and therefore my only opinion is kill the individual/s, with no regard for my future" better Roll Eyes

60  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: What was the craziest thread of all time on Getbig? on: November 26, 2013, 05:36:23 AM
Hard to say, there's been a lot.  If you look at my posting history, you'll see - there's not a lot left of the early days Sad

I posted far more, back then - than I do now.

The manface thread was pretty far reaching in upsetting a lot of people.

240's meltdown into death threats was fairly epic (though he has redeemed himself over the years - to the point where it is mildly vulgar to bring up his past).  I would say at least 50% of this board have no idea that before sarcasm, 240 was trolling the pros massively.  Rob sure has changed a lot over the years.

Zach G's pictures for the psyche ward did well

Anything about the mighty Chadwick Mower was a hit

The first incarnation of palumboism was good

The outings of various specimens are high craziness - but they don't really stick in the mind, too much.  I guess they are a little too obvious.

The craziest was probably the moment we found out about Titus.  No getbig member has achieved such lofty heights, since.

61  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Greg Kovacs dies at 44 on: November 26, 2013, 03:53:18 AM
Let's show strength and solidarity for a great iron brother by allowing an appropriate length of time for respectful remembrance before moving on to speculation about cause.

Yeah, let's do what everybody around our iron brother did and pretend he was immortal could only have died from a freak, unexpected and undetected genetic defect he had from birth Roll Eyes

Let's respect our iron brothers and ignore the truth like they did, right into the grave.  Greeeat.

All of these guys died, ignoring medical advice for years.  Ignoring the truth.

That's a ridiculous opinion, Tre.  Politically correct nonsense.

Discuss away.   Markus is next.  I wish there was a way to petition Markus to lose some weight.
62  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Milos or Guy Grundy: Effect of Synthol Query on: November 23, 2013, 09:32:51 PM
Guy was done competing when he was here in 2006.

Good to see he is still alive - I thought maybe he had expired.
63  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Milos or Guy Grundy: Effect of Synthol Query on: November 23, 2013, 07:28:34 PM
Good question

A lot of pros post on MD..but it's very sanitized there

Get yourself into the majors and I guarantee you'll understand Grin

There is a decent percentage of people in this world who genuinely get a kick out of achieving any interaction they can with someone who has gained notoriety.

A pro would come here, be civil, introduce themselves and within like 20 minutes would have his first (weak) insult.

It happens everywhere. It would be the same on MD, if they allowed it to happen.

This place is only the thunderdome as far as pros go because it's one of the few places where the noise is allowed to be as loud as the genuine talk.  Most places elsewhere use a hierarchical system that self moderates the bs away.

If you read twatter, it's the same shit, someone with lots of followers posts, if you actually read the replies to their twats you've got a mixture of people sucking their dick and other people (with essentially the same agenda, albeit a different approach) posting insults.

If I were a premier league football player, I'd fucking love away games.  It's fucking hilarious to see the abuse they cop, the moment they get too close to the other supporters.  I bet there's some brilliant stuff being laid on them.
64  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Milos or Guy Grundy: Effect of Synthol Query on: November 23, 2013, 07:16:58 PM
Heh, initially, reading back this thread - I'm thinking, why did I ask this question.

Then I properly read the quote in the first post.

Synthol creates "anabolic holes" Roll Eyes

Guy Grundy was good people on this board, I've often wondered where he is.

.. and a lot of people hang shit on Milos - but he was one of the very few guys who would be prepared to answer questions in the presence of teh "getbig noise".

That's what happened to all the pros.

Every single pro on this board, bar Shawn* succumbed to the getbig noise.  Every single interaction they had - there's like 5 dudes posting weaksauce insults, trying to get a rise out of them.

*Shawn had a different way of dealing with the noise - he is the only pro who took it upon himself to actually moderate and around the start of that - he used to remove a lot of threads.  He did calm down on that, after a while.

65  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Phil Heath in Greece on: November 20, 2013, 03:17:45 PM
Two completely different physiques...Does every Mr Olympia have to look like Ronnie Coleman? When Ronnie was king, everyone complained that you have to be a mass monster to win...Now that Heath won, everyone  says he is too small and narrow, and wants a mass monster back in the seat..I think people root for a competitor till they win...After that the they split hairs, over analyse, and negatively tear apart every weak point there is...

There is truth in what you say that people rage against the champion.

Thing is, Phil isn't the best at what he is - Ronnie was.  Nobody disputed that.

Phil IS structurally inferior to many top 10 bodybuilders in the last 20 years.

Not saying he didn't deserve to win, what he's good at - he is genuinely good.  But most of us are waiting for better.

It's really quite simple, he has a tiny chest width.  It's almost freaky how small it is.  It isn't aesthetically pleasing.

if you ever saw one in person you would know they actually do

They probably sound very meaty, yes.

.. but I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying that car does not sound like a mixture of a car and Richard D James's production skills, in person Smiley

I would be surprised if it wasn't him (ie, Aphex Twin) who did the audio for this piece as there is a moment that sounds exactly like part of Come To Daddy.
67  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Turn Your Speakers Up: Jag F-Type R Coupe on: November 20, 2013, 07:12:40 AM
I thought that video was pure bullshit. The audio seemed to have very little to do with the video.

Maybe it sounds good, but it's a bit bullshit to say that car sounds like that when it's coasting on a road (and most of that video was driving extremely sedately).

68  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Phil Heath in Greece on: November 20, 2013, 06:55:26 AM
Heath has the 2nd most beautiful physique ever as Mr Olympia ...Why so much hate for the guy?

69  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The curse of Get big on: November 19, 2013, 08:03:28 AM
Thanks OMR - I hadn't read much of this person, but I am now satisfied he is OG.  Not overly concerned who he was - I would say he was considered a joke or peripheral, as clearly, he is afraid of exposing himself which almost certainly means there are skeletons in that closet Smiley

Originally, I thought he was a troll, lying about this - as I didn't believe anybody could be so fucking stupid that they'd post in a thread about being OG and then claim that someone else brought it up (read his original bait post in this thread, insinuating such regarding never having complained to a mod via PM).
70  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The curse of Get big on: November 19, 2013, 07:04:21 AM
Just get over my identity already. Stop following me around asking me the same shit over and over again. Its really not important.

If it weren't important, you wouldn't be peppering your posts with constant insinuations that you wish to be known as someone who has been around here for a long time.  Considering you're essentially protecting almost certainly a screen name (ie fake name), it's increasingly likely you're bullshitting people, at some level.

71  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The curse of Get big on: November 19, 2013, 06:30:46 AM
People say racism isn't enforced -

Racism is enforced if it goes "too far" in Ron's books and no better established than in the case of the mighty Sir Duchaine (and other incarnations of this eloquent fellow) who was just a tiny bit too good at his racism for some of the weak minds of this board (I guess I don't give a shit because I'm white Smiley)

I uncovered this post of his, here a while back - one of the better posts on this board ever.  It's Sir Duchaine regaling Kevin Levrone (holly wood) with a particularly excellent piece.

72  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The curse of Get big on: November 19, 2013, 06:20:17 AM
Regardless of what you think about bigmc, he is absolutely spot on about this.  There are a reasonable few members on this board who emit what I liken to be a text based, very loud, very constant high pitched whine about this place.  Their entire existence, here, seems calculated to try to ineffectually impose their own will on the place.

True thunderdomers never snitch. Ask any mod here I've NEVER reported a single post. Fatmc can't say the same because he's a snitch.

Exactly who were you, before?  Honestly, I've read you state you are from way back around five times, now and I'm bored of thinking "well who the fuck were you?" Grin

I only opened this thread out of sheer curiosity as to what on earth a UK based person could bring to the table in such a dense discussion of liberty and putting holes in stuff from far distances.

I was not disappointed with the answer
74  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Why do atheists think they're smarter than most people? on: November 15, 2013, 07:18:30 AM
It's really simple.

The more intelligent you are - the more you respect your ability to research and understand the world around you.  The more you understand how far the human race has come in understanding the physical world around them.

Cut to people who have suspended all that, in favour of faith.

Most of them are dumb c u n t s and it wouldn't matter if they are intelligent - they're not using or developing it whilst they studiously keep their head in the sand.

A typical example of this would be the frequently broached concept of when science admits it was "wrong" and reframes estimates associated with physics.  The religious see this as confirmation that god exists and science is hokum.  The intelligent people see this as progress and an increased accuracy - which still does not verify a man in the sky who gives Derek Anthony a kidney and lets better people die, every day.

If you're offended by the idea that you're being mostly in the company of dumb c u n t s, research average IQ by religious affiliation.

If you're still offended by this fact, console yourself by placing yourself at the rightmost end of the bell curve that defines the range of intelligence of your faith.   Chances are - if you know what the bell curve is, you should be smart enough to drag yourself to the right side

The thing you have to remember is that being smarter than someone does not mean you "win".  There is no correlation between intelligence and happiness (certainly no positive correlation - and plenty that points to the opposite) and however you look at it, we are at the top of the food chain - there is only really one reason to exist and that's to enjoy life.

There is no essential truth to the idea that people in the first world are "happier" than those in the third world.  If your frame of reference is that you really want a new bucket for christmas and you don't know any better - are you less "happy" on the day than some snot nose shithead in the US gets his new playstation?  Of course not.  It means nothing.  There is only that which is in the eye of the beholder.

On the whole, Jews are amongst the most intelligent of the religious people I have witnessed - in terms of their leaders having their shit together.  They have answers for questions that Christians will lie, or dodge like the plague.  Say what you want about Jews - they aren't afraid of physics and that in itself has my respect.  Typical christian bullshit involves sensationalising something to make a hasty exit.

This is a waste of a friday night, answering this shit - you're going to believe what you want to believe, you are an individual and words like "most" apply in terms of averages.  All that I would say is it's constantly mystifying how closed minded most religious people are (hence the smarter idea) and you can't blame atheists for thinking that - regardless of the truth of the matter - there are millions of experiments that prove we know what we're talking about to a far greater extent than a book from thousands of years ago mistranslated, misrepresented and often selectively believed in could ever hope to satisfy anybody with a shred of self respect (for their own intellect), could.

I have heard christians talk about the complexity of biology as their stimulus for their beliefs - and I can get behind that, because at the very least it's based on some level of logical thought.  I mean, it's a big step for many to accept that regression iteration could produce such incredible complexity and I wouldn't really blame anybody for struggling to get their head around that.
75  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Derek Anthony on: November 14, 2013, 04:00:08 AM
I agree - I do not believe Dezza is using steroids at this time.  I believe as his body has shrunk he has turned to oil to hide this fact.

I also believe most people on this board have no clue at the extent of how ignorant the general public are on what muscle should look like.

Derek is fooling plenty of people with his act.

As for his mobster styling - just typical man shit, affiliating yourself with something that is in fashion and considered to be the territory of tough guys.  No different to most of tapout's market.
