I'm not really sure where this discussion has headed - but I can tell you guns are pretty irrelevant to most people in Australia.  I know one single person who has guns (via legit license).  I do not feel the need to possess one.  I am not afraid of people with guns at all because largely, gun violence is rare and generally between rival criminals.  However, if I were in the US, I would probably own one.  Those news reports stink of FUD that isn't really represented in how the average Australian feels.  Nobody is afraid, here.  In fact, currently, the biggest evil that persists in Australia media is the frequent occurrence of piece of shit dickwads king hitting random people, who end up hitting their head as they fall and consequently die.  Seriously, that's our biggest problem.  Would that even make local news in your country?  It's a national news headline every time it happens here

I did not bother reading any pages of this thread but I don't really think that stuff has any parallel to the US.  Forget banning guns - it is ingrained in the culture and it is true that a lot of you get extremely butthurt at the idea of not having guns (which is perfectly understandable - given there's so many in your country and you grew up with them being something you were free to own). 

In my opinion, those of you who want to keep your guns have to admit one thing - you have to admit that shit will happen and some kids are going to get shot up in a school from time to time.  You have to accept that - because your country has no mechanism or money to police every single gun owner in the country, to ensure 1. they are sane and 2. they are responsible and store their guns correctly.  It's a fool's errand.  Too many people.  As there are so many stupid people in your country, the various organisations under threat, simply find things like video games to blame, to take the focus of the real issue - which is that there is no true solution. 

In a word, there's fuck all can be done in the US.  Live with it.   If a school has a guard, it might be a cinema.  If a cinema gets a guard, it'll be a random street. etc etc.  This is just a whole lot of noise that ends with nothing achieved.

I didn't misinterpret what you said - I didn't think you said that Phil was wider than Jay.

But you did ask the reader to compare widths (to debunk that Heath is narrow) and that is what I did.  Then I had a think about how yes, the width is similar, or larger in that photo and why he still looks narrow - and figured it out.

IE, what you were trying to say is irrelevant to the question of if he is narrow.  

I could go right through every single one of those photos you posted and post the comparison of chest size and just about every single angle, he's significantly smaller in surface area..  That is primarily why Heath is "narrow".  He has a narrow chest.  I'm still skeptical that he is truly as wide as Jay, but you understand the implication, right?  If he is truly as wide as Jay, he has a very narrow chest.  If Jay is actually wider and that photo doesn't show it, he has an extremely narrow chest compared to Jay.

Either way, Phil Heath is narrow.  That is a fact.

You've got a point.. somewhat.

I was genuinely curious about what you were saying, so I took a look in photoshop and indeed, I discovered that the total width of Phil is in parity.

What you're seeing below is Phil's width compared to Cutlers (no zoom, in that picture he really is wider, though perspective may be the reason).

The second image is why you are wrong.  It is his chest compared with Cutler's.  As you can see, he IS more narrow, it's just in the torso (and you can see that I didn't even do Cutler justice, on the right side, I cut him a bit wrong).

Think about that for a second.  In that photo he's wider than cutler yet his chest is significantly less wide.  I did not in any way modify the image.  

When I look at Phil, I don't see a balanced physique.  I see giant, impressive arms, small shoulders compared them and a very narrow chest width.

Hope that lays to rest what you're saying which was valid but not quite the right focus.

The fact he looks like a fat slob is actually just an unfortunate side effect of his metamorphosis into a hyper dimensional being.  Yes, the pieces of the Falcon that remain on this astral plane are not the most aesthetic, but the greek god lives on, elsewhere, with the DMT pixies.

I think you'll find that Vince was Keith's good friend and as such, Vince would definitely know the date.

On one hand I sort of respect Vince Basile because despite his age (and the obvious "creepy" vibes that we're genetically programmed to feel when a used human is interacting with us), he's genuine - but on the other, it does turn my stomach a little, to see someone who barely knows a guy romanticising him to such a degree (and still talking about Goodrum).  It's not so much creepy as it is overstepping the connection level.

That silly little article is a cut and paste from various sources.  I have read the NASA quote and the quote is that there is no special risk associated with the coming solar maximum.  In fact, the quote was directly associated with 2012 loons.  It doesn't mean there is no risk, it means, there is no particular significant risk that could be misconstrued as the source of the doom, predicted for 2012.

Secondly, the "sources" is an interesting read, given that source 2 if a Fox News article saying the opposite to what is being claimed in that paste - Fox News is not a credible source for information, but why on earth would someone use a Fox News article saying the exact opposite in a reference list.

Sometimes it's difficult to for layman to understand the veracity of a source in a situation like this because on the one hand, you've got the sane people - and the other is the media who sell doom and the doomsday loons themselves.  As a result, you can read a lot of stuff that isn't the whole story, but it is engineered to dispell the bullshit artists running with it.

The truth is somewhere in the middle.  There could be a larger CME and it is implicit fact that a CME has taken power out before (1989 in quebec)

Induced power is no joke.  It happens.  Tomorrow, in my little corner of the world, I have to go into work and write code to detect induced power on data lines in large commercial buildings.
