6276  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Ron Avidan gets dissed by David Henry! on: October 02, 2006, 04:52:06 PM

Once again, there is no beef with David Henry with me. He is a top IFBB pro competitor who had made it to the Olympia stage. But people wanted me to ask questions that other people would not. I said I would here. Now, as the many who were there at the press conference would attest - I had about 20 question to ask, but only got to ask three of them due to time restraints. Isaac asked one other. And Bob and Dan asked about 5 of them. There were other questions to other competitors too.

6278  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Ron Avidan gets dissed by David Henry! on: October 02, 2006, 11:12:39 AM

Well, lets get one thing straight. I don't 'hate' David Henry, I think he his a cool person, and we have talked before on various places and events. That being said, the question was one that was brought to me via a number of people, including at least 4 pros, and way too many amatuers and fans. So, why the question?

First, some background, at the 2006 Arnold Classic, at the competitor's meeting, when I tried to take a picture of David Henry, the guy actually said 'No, no' and turned his head away. That was a major act of arrogance to me, like he was too good or something. But I blew it off, anyone can have a bad day.

But, why ask the question again. And why that one. Because here is something you guys don't know. On the way to the Orleans, David got into the limo, and there were other pro bodybuilders in the limo. One said hello, and David didn't even bother to say hello back to him. That pro said 'why is David so arrogant like that, it isn't cool'. Hence, where the question came from.

No less than 5 pros at the 'Meet the Olympians' came up to me, and thanked me for asking that question. They all wish that David Henry would understand that this sport is a mix of PR and excellent reactions towards the fans. My question was a little harsh, but David had a chance to change the way many feel on his arrogance. His response didn't do that at all.

As for me and David Henry, I have no problems at all with him. I didnt take his response pesonally at all. You guys asked me and Issac to ask various questions at the press conference that others would not ask. I told you I would. If others would ask questions that stir some things up, perhaps the press conference might be a little more exciting. Next show, I will say hello, take his pictures, see what is up. If he refuses, oh well.  I did speak to him afterwards, and he was mad, but we talked a little. But his girlfriend is a little mad..

As for calling people out, jezz.. Flex Wheeler, Nasser El Sonbaty, and others were pretty arrogant too at the beginning, but now, these two and I talked and have a great time...

I already have it on my agenda to bring up the lack of individual judges scores (as was adopted into the rule last year) and the scoring system.

This was adopted into the rule last year? Bob, have you seen the individual score sheet at the Master's Pro which you won? Have you personally requested to see the individual score sheets? Or can anyone view them? Are they for the public or are they just for the individual competitor?

Tre,

I have a few clues. Will fill you in when you are ready, do I need to proove it to you now...

Give me the questions, I will ask them for you.  Tre, I need more pictures and video of you and the Amazon women with you smooshing your face in there, and squealing and moaning.

John, I need the same from you too Smiley

Ron, I heard we will be able to see the press confrence live on the net, is it true ?

No, as far as I know, it will not be on the webcast. I am hoping that Hardbody Entertainment will videotape it and show the highlights, and I dont think we will see it on the webcast. But we will all report about it.

Ask them which ones are coming to the PDI when they realize the IFBB is going down.

Why? If there was a PDI press conference, should I ask those athletes about the IFBB? No. Questions are for the competitors, this is their day. I want questions directed to the competitors.

Quote
Ask the competitors what they thought of the Mr Getbig contest.

Why? Where they in it? Did they qualify through it? Again - this is their press conference. I want questions about them. Give me good questions already. And thanks for the few of you that already emailed some - will try to use them.

Quote
ask them if they are happy with the job that Boc Chic is doing as their Rep

Good question - for the Athletes meeting, not the press conference.

"do you feel points should be deducted for a distended stomach....so much to the point where it would affect a top 5 placing"

Ecellent question. Someone was reading my original post. Bravo!

Quote
why do you feel Lee Priest needed to be suspended for competing in the NOC, when every IFBB representative has said publicly that the PDI is 'inconsequential' and 'no threat' to the IFBB? SOOOOOOOO UMMMMMM WHERES LEE ?

Again - who cares. Not relevant to a competitor. If Lee is on that stage, lots of questions will be directed towards him - if he is not, then they wont be. Not to say I wont ask Lee questions when I see him, after all, I will hound him until I get all the pictures I want, Lee will tell you that.

Anybody here from Titus? I hear he's in town

Yes, we have. Some of us have even visited him. But no 'interview' story... sorry.

Why are the male bodybuilders allowed to hike up their trunks up their asses while the fitness women are not?

I think that fitness women should be allowed to do that too... why not. But unfortunately, the standards of the conservative moment doesnt appreciate it.

Quote
And wasnt this meant to be the format last year (open pressforum) but it was squashed under the watchfull of Mr Chang !!

Actually, we could of asked questions. But the members of the press are too chicken to be in the spotlight. I know last year I was. Didn't want to go up there and ask question in front of everybody. But this year I will. Robin was disappointed that only Flex Wheeler asked one question, and the rest of us press were quiet.

Why are you wasting your time here? You know damn well Ronnie could show up looking like Vince Goodrum and he'd still get the Sandow!"

Ronnier: Who writes the columns and articles that are signed with your name in FLEX?, What do you feel you have accomplished as an representative for the bodybuilding community?

First question is a mixture of Ronnie and a writer. Ronnie usually says what he wants to say, a writer writes it. Most columns of sports athletes are written this way. Second question is what I am looking for.

Quote
What will you do if you become champion. How will you represent bodybuilding

Excellent question!! More of these

Quote
Getting the questions approved by someone before they're asked?

I can ask any question I want. But I want them relevant to the athletes.

Quote
Well it's already known they threatened Ron to take his press pass if he didn't moderate the PDI stuff more. This is how the IFBB works. If they really tried to pressure Ron to censor PDI info or opinions on his board, that shows you just how pathetic the people running the IFBB really are

PDI can discuss as much as they want on the boards - does it look like it was moderated. What people were concerned with, on both sides, is the hateful bashing on various people. That needed to be stopped! Calling people various names, with lewd pictures, and downright lies is wrong, and yes, people didnt like it. Dont want it on Manion, dont want it on DeMilia, dont want it on McGough, don't want it on Blechman. But outright taking my press pass away. No - it never came to that. But do I need a press pass to report to events? No. I havent had a press pass from the NPC in three years, that doesnt stop anything. Promoters are kind so I didnt need to ask for one.

Quote
Dan and Bob - my questions have been submitted. Let's see something other then paint dry at this year!

Ecellent questions, Isaac. You can now actually go up and say some of them!

Quote
Question for any competitor: "What do you think of Vince Goodrum's triumphant return to the stage at the 2006 NPC Mountaineer, where he placed 2nd in a 2-man junior class?"

In the terms of the Olympia, who cares about Vince Goodrum. Again, questions for the competitors that are good ones.

6285  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: What is a pro bodybuilder? on: September 25, 2006, 05:44:37 PM

A pro bodybuilder is someone that has attained the title of Pro, from winning a contest or via designation of their home country, in winning the contest back home. It does not mean that you immediately get money in return.

One needs to market yourself, promote yourself, get the deals you want by doing it yourself. It will not come to you unless you are in the top 15. Some amatuers do a lot better than some pros because of this.

But there is always companies looking for someone out there - the question is what is the price.
6286  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: I love Brenda Kelly on: September 25, 2006, 05:28:57 PM

Stop already with the hate on Brenda Kelly - it will be deleted. As for her journalistic skills and her visit with Kelly Ryan, and the interview, I can honestly tell you she get a lot of crap from her own peers and people in the industry for focusing the interview on her and Kelly rather than just on Kelly. I have talked to her about it, and so have others. But not bashing on Brenda. She always has a smile for you as you walk around the expo. So enough.
6287  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Blechman/Romano, Valentino - Olympia? on: September 25, 2006, 05:22:58 PM

Blechman, Romano, Palumbo and others from Muscular Development will be around - albiet without press passes. However, Blechman purchased VIP tickets for the crew that is going so they may, in fact, have better seats than many others.

But if you are looking for disruptions at the Olympia, that will not happen. The entire crew has a love for the sport, and although they are in a dispute with AMI, bodybuilding is the focus here.

6288  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Olympia Press Conference Questions on: September 25, 2006, 05:19:48 PM

Well, this year, the members of the press, that is people who have press passes, can and will ask questions to the Olympia competitiors. The question I have is there any questions, and they need to be serious, not bashing, and somewhat more exciting, questions that you seriously (did I mention seriously) would like to know regarding some of the competiors.

So here you go, a chance to hear some questions you want to hear instead of the usual praise, love, and declaration of fanhood.

Now - non serious questions will be deleted. And start with whom you want to question to be for...

6289  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: PBBW? on: September 25, 2006, 05:15:39 PM

There will be no show this week, both Dan and Bob Cicherillo will be hosting the Press Conference in Las Vegas on Thursday. Many of us will be there asking questions.

As for Ronnie Coleman, Ronnie came back and called the next day, as he had a doctor's appointment, and didn't realize the time and all. Ronnie, in no way shape or form, meant to dis his fans, nor Bob or Dan. In fact, he promised he will be back on after he wins the Mr. Olympia show.

Ronnie is inhuman, training and getting ready with his focus completely for the Mr. Olympia, and the $150,000 prize plus more...

The favorite is Ronnie to win a historic breaking Mr. Olympia crown. Jay Cutler is favored for second. But anything can happen on contest day. This year is different from the lat 8 wins. Why? Because the contest is held on two nights, and can Ronnie, at his age, do wonders and keep the crown if you need to be in tiop top shape two nights in a row. Or will the judges just focus on the first night, Friday night, only?

As for the color of their skin, I guess Bob Cicherillo is black too? Oh yeah - he really didn't win an IFBB show right...

It doesnt matter what color they are - it does matter if they bring muscularity, symmetry and conditioning to the show, and get all three correct when it counts.

There was no gay-ass routine at the Ironman. It was however, a strange mixture of Kai and Rodney with masks on stage, doing an entertaining round that some people liked, and other bodybuilding purists were aghast at it. However, most like you won't see that again, because I think the IFBB wants each competitors to compete in round three by themselves, not with another competitor.  As for Rodney St. Cloud, at the Europa Super Show, he had chains with him...

Congrats to Rodney St. Cloud for his qualification for the Mr. Olympia. His routine should make it interesting in the Olympia finals. Often times, various competitors wait until the last minute to enter a show, especially so close before the Olympia.

As for the webcast, originally I heard they turned it down because they were going to do their own, but I have also heard that not having a webcast may bring fans to actually watch the show. Interesting to hear the reasoning behind it all. However, various fees of having a webcast also come up, like line feed, costs to have a video run live, and other costs from the actual contest place. It all depends who picks up all of these costs, and it it is worth it.

Bob has had a number of small roles in movies, and in commercials also.

One good commerical can net you $30,000, with residuals...

So if there is an oppurtinity, why not, for anyone.

As for Bob, working with bb.com, and Weider, and the emcee of the Olympia means that Bob is having a great year, plus radio show, plus Del Taco commericial, plus getting married, new baby... damn.... he can afford lots of special shiny shirts...

Now that would be very interesting. But I don't think the PDI is a federation. They are a for-profit company that is in the entertainment of bodybuilding. Would such a company have a rule book? As far as I know, press releases are the only thing we have had so far. But a good question.
