Watch it - she is really nice and sweet....
6277  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Marika Johansson 2 weeks out for Atlantic citypro. on: September 18, 2006, 11:34:06 PM
She looked good at the Europa Super Show, but the judges said she was too hard. So I am pretty sure she will come in softer for the Atlantic Pro show...

6278  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: 2006 Mr. O" top ten on: September 18, 2006, 10:50:20 PM
Qualification list is here...

King Kamali is not competing. Neither is Phil Heath. Neither if Bob Cicherillo. And now - most likely no Lee Priest.

King will be at the Muscletech booth, Phil Heath will be at the Weider booth, Bob Cicherillo will be at the booth, and also emceeing the press conference, Friday night prejudging, and Saturday night finals (lets hope he wears a suit, and no black satin Elvis shirt). Lee Priest should be at the Twinlab booth.
6279  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: 1997 Ninja Attack on: September 18, 2006, 10:47:57 PM
We all can understand that, but why start this stupid thread if you are not going to answer in a timely manner or at all?

I will garner a few or a lot of questions for Flex, including this one, and then we can get down to the bottom of it. We have researched it, from the hospital reports, to the carjacking to each statement, and much more. We will get down to the bottom of this. Flex and I talked about it..

However, right now, there is more important issues. Flex is the president of Hardbody Entertainment, which means that he needs to deal with the Olympia Webcast, the Olympia DVD's and much more for the Olympia Weekend.

Also, we work for MD (but not on the Olympia Weekend), so he travels around (just came back from the North Americans).

So after the Olympia, a few weeks unti October, I will get questions and once and for all, learn all about the 1997 Ninja Attack. Keep putting questions and speculations here... it is interesting.
6280  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: PDI Night of Champions: Crazy Night Entertainment Pics on: September 18, 2006, 09:40:20 PM

Regarding Lee Priest - you keep asking that question (also Valentine Jabes) if they will be suspended. Obviously they will be. What do you want Bob to do now? Jump, scream, yell? Lee did what he thought was right to do - so the next step is to see if there will be a suspension letter, then the next step to see if there will be a hearing, a response from Lee, etc.

You are correct when you say it is out of Bob's hands right now...

As for the pics - you guys may not like them, but was the show entertaining? The pictures make look funny, but was that evening round entertaining is the question. You purists - go the the prejudging where it is all serious and shit.

6281  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: PDI Night of Champions: Steve Weinberger was there on: September 18, 2006, 05:00:37 PM

And so it goes to say that Steve went and start pushing everyone. Come on - whatever your experience with Steve - did he ever push you? Or was it a lot of talking. Steve went to the show with a friend.
6282  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Flex Magazine - comments on: September 18, 2006, 02:23:13 PM
Flex is the leading magazine of bodybuilding, MD is second. Both are good magazines. Almost everyone I talk to picks up both magazines, or has subscriptions to both of them. Each of their uniqueness in them.  MD is more raw, Flex is more defined. Flex promotes the positiveness of the sport. MD reports all of it - good and bad. Nothing is wrong with that. Flex's numbers as ABC audited. MD is not, at least not yet.

6283  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: PDI Night of Champions: Steve Weinberger was there on: September 18, 2006, 02:11:04 PM
I call and ask. Did you actually here George say 'Steve W touched him and pushed me'. Or did you hear him say "IF you push me, I will complain". Big difference in the story. Was Steve W on his way out leaving the show, or did Steve go up to George. Get your facts straight - if something happened - it would be big news here.

Can't anyone go to a show. I hope to see Wayne DeMilia at the Olympia too.
6284  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: PDI Night of Champions: Steve Weinberger was there on: September 18, 2006, 01:51:28 PM
I spoke to Steve. George is not telling the truth. Steve did not push anybody nor touch him. Why would Steve push George? It’s a felony in New York to push someone, so go ahead. And Steve said ‘Why would I waste my time with you”.  All Steve did was go to the show, and stayed to himself. Jeez - some of you guys as just too much.
6285  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Shawn Ray's All Star Seminar for the Olympia? on: September 17, 2006, 10:24:52 PM

Shawn is not having one this year. But since I have been to all of them when he was it on the Olympia weekend, i can't tell you that it is really cool to see 8 of the top pros talk about various questions, their experiences, and more in a no holds barred Q&A.  And everyone that has gone to that really enjoyed the seminars. Some people that stare and look and say hello for 30 seconds, but at these seminars, you can ask questions, get various prizes, and really get to know someone better.  Check out the pics section for various pictures I took of the seminar.

That being said, no Shawn is not having one this year. Shawn is co-emcee of Saturday Night's Olympia Finals and I think he is also participating in Friday's nights Prejudging. Other emcee is Bob Cicherillo.  The next morning at 11am, there is a All Star Seminar via AMI/Weider at the host hotel. It used to be at 9am, but now has moved moved later in the day.

6286  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Craig Titus & Kelly Ryan Discussions / Re: 09-11-06: Titus and Ryan Attorney's Relief Fund on: September 17, 2006, 11:15:24 AM
Cut the trite "innocent until proven guilty" horse shite, you know that both of them are responsible for this horrendous crime.  It is highly irresponsible of you to post info on paying for legal fees for two killers, and not for the victims families.

Really - no I don't. See - I don't have all of the information. So you cut the crap. Why don't you tell me exactly what happened. Where you there?Huh Please - I really would like to know what happened, and since you seem to have the info, please enlighten us all. Come on already. Don't hold back. We all want to know.

As for the victim's family, I am more happy to put up whatever they desire, and I do. Aka, the Memorial Page, and whatever statements they want to make. I sympathize with them, someone in no longer with us, and that is a tradegy.

I just don't like the idea of a "relief fund."

Didn't write it, and received the information, and unlike some people here - others truly want to know, and help. Both Kelly and Craig's family and their friend have been affected by this too.
6287  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Multiple Champions from Past BB Federations on: September 17, 2006, 11:07:33 AM
On the Getbig History - Memories Board, there are myriad discussions of past bodybuilders, and some of the history that came with it. It is actually a very good board to respect, and learn about people from the discussions. Some of my favorite threads are there...
6288  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: PDI Night of Champions: Complete Results and Feedback on: September 17, 2006, 11:00:56 AM

Congratulations Lee on your win - see you at the Olympia, whether in the show or at the expo signing autographs.
6289  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: 2006 IFBB North Americans were today also!!! on: September 17, 2006, 10:54:03 AM

Congrats Leo on pro status, and did I read that Gus (from the movie No Pain, No Gain) also got the second pro card... Nice...
6290  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: PDI T-shirts: Never made it to the show? on: September 16, 2006, 11:05:11 PM
One thing i Have learned is that Fed Ex guaranteed shipping overnight does not mean you will get it the next day. Between them and UPS, things have happened, especially if you ship a lot, once in a while the famous 'Delivery Exception' note comes up.

Those shirts should of been shipped before, and to someone reliable, not to the venue in question. And most definately not the day before.  They still can be given to the competitors who competed, and the rest can be put up as 'classic inaugural PDI shorts.... the first PDI pro show...'
6291  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Hey Chick, here's an idea for the IFBB on: September 16, 2006, 04:43:09 PM
How about every year the athletes are allowed to vote on a bodybuilder or bodybuilders that they (the competitors themselves) feel SHOULD be pro and then that person/those people are given their pro cards?

How about every year the American athletes taht want to become an IFBB pro compete in the NPC USA, NPC Nationals, and IFBB North American's, and work there way to get that pro card. (If you are not American, you can petition your country of origin for a pro card, or compete there and win that pro card).
6292  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Why don't MD, MMI, IM, and PM join forces? on: September 16, 2006, 04:11:22 PM
Have fun tonight at the NOC. Thanks for your reports.

But the IFBB is not the same as the promoters of the Olympia, AMI. AMI denied the press passes to MD, not the IFBB. AMI felt that some of the comments bashing the people went way out of line - over the top. And many agree. But as Romano said, this is a long standing fued.

Bailik is in charge of Ironman magazine and runs the IFBB Ironman in Southern California every year, which is one of the best run IFBB contests and expo's after the O and Arnold. But it is up to each magazine to decide what they want in the contests of their page. Magazines, like web sites, report the news as much as they can.

6293  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Predict - Will IFBB really suspend Priest? on: September 16, 2006, 03:52:30 PM
1) Will they really suspend him for doing the Pro Division show?

It seems pretty clear from the myriad of posts here that Lee will be suspended from the IFBB come Monday morning.

2) What are the secrets he will be spilling once his IFBB career IS over?

Lee has never been one to shy away from any discussion.  But as one bodybuilder told me - don't crack a cane in a glass house.
6294  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: I want to watch the PDI NOC show on: September 15, 2006, 05:16:51 PM
The Night of Champions will be on tomorrow. Jack London will be competing, coming on stage in an allegedly very entertaining round. I am not sure about the amatuer show that is supposed to be going on tonight, but there are a number of people there who will watch it and report back to us.

As for television and per per view, very few bodybuilding shows of any kind are on. It just cost way too much to get the air time, the manpower, and more.  As for a webcast, again, does having a webcast take away from ticket sales.

6295  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Craig Titus "TALKED" today...... on: September 15, 2006, 04:03:23 PM

How about 'I will reserve judgement until I hear both sides, the defense and the prosecution, listen to all of the evidence, and then decide'. Unless of course, you all know exactly what happened.

6297  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Don Long cleared to compete! on: September 15, 2006, 11:39:00 AM
Who the F**k are any of us to tell Don what he should or shouldn't do with his body? Lord knows what some of these guys are doing in prep for the big show in a couple weeks. He's a grown man who knows his body better then any of us. He's not taking any diuretics, which as anyone who knows professional bodybuilding knows, this is where many guys have health issues the day of the show. Any doubts, ask the athlete's rep about pushing the envelope too far.

Hmmm... based on this logic, anyone can compete in the contests as long as they get a ‘doctor’ to sign a waiver. What if you knew he had a heart attack in the past? If that ok? Can you honestly tell me that his changes of getting injured, or something happening is the same as an athlete with functioning kidneys? Can you honestly tell me that you know all about every part of the training and the other function of his body parts to tell me that having no kidneys wont cause any factor? Have you talked with any other doctor who has heard of this and advised of this?

I like Don, he is a good guy, but someone needs to say what they think. The guy is getting another chance at life, why take a serious risk?

If something occurs to Don, anything at all, or later on, something happens, what then.... will we say it was ok because a doctor signed a waiver.

Would they let Don compete in any other sports, basketball, football, baseball, soccer, tennis?
6298  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Don Long cleared to compete! on: September 15, 2006, 07:50:25 AM
I think the kidney did not sustain in Don's body, and it was his sister that donated it.

But, given all that, even if Don signed all of the waivers, why would you want to go and compete on stage? Just to show everyone or even yourself that you can be on stage competing in a pro show.

What if something happens? Anything? Would it be worth it.

Yes, just because the dialysis machine, even with revolutionary advancements, does not mean that other factors are taken into routine. Why even take a chance?

So later on say I competed one more time on stage...

6299  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: 1997 Ninja Attack on: September 15, 2006, 07:40:01 AM
Ron and I just got done meeting about this. Ron, the ball is in your hands....

Well - correct, met with Flex Wheeler and Fred Berger of Hardbody Entertainment, got some drinks, ate some dinner (Flex did not eat a hamburger, but I did), talked about stories, the Olympia and more. Got an advance copy of Flex Magazine's 11th annual Swimsuit 2006 Edition, with Timea on the cover, and Christine Pompanio-Pate, Valerie Waugaman, Jenny Lynn, Mary Lado, Kim Klein, Tanji Johnson in it. All I can say right now is that it was great, and I am really tired. But to really research and review the DVD, I need to watch it again (and then once more).

I'm more interested in hearing how you survived having 0.0% bodyfat at the '93 Olympia! measured Flex Wheelers at an astounding 0.0% with the use of body calipers.

Well - do you understand the difference between body fat and skinfold. The measurement was of skinfold, not of bodyfat. Does that make more sense to you. Get off the bodyfat, even Flex says under 2% can kill you. So think calipers and skinfold in the side, not bodyfat.

Shawn, did you psyhce Flex out by saying he had calf implants and demanding the IFBB to x-ray them? or is that just a rumor?

Shawn knows the best way to get Flex unnerved before a contest. Shawn vs. Flex. This was war on stage, and the calf implants story was another battle to get Flex's focus off the contest.

is that connected to the ninja story?

You know, the funny thing is that Flex never talked about ninja's and somewhere along the years, the story got out of control, and now it was the Ninaja's.  I still am trying to figure out where that came from. We talked about it, still don't know where that came from.

Come on Bro! Just tell it. Tell the truth. Just straight up tell it - good, bad, stupid, it doesn't matter. Just tell the truth - bear your soul - it is the only way to survive here. Tell them the Ninja story.....

Oh Shawn - Ninja's?   Well, according to Flex, regarding the Ninja story...

oh damn, it's is way too early, gotta go to work, and watch this Swimsuit DVD again... and just last week, they videotaped the Lingerie issue....
