I wonder what the legs look like.   The legs are the first muscle to waste away as you get older.

Funny how you never see a Dennis Wolf Calf training video or article in a magazine.

I have fond memories of Max Max, as it was the very first movie I saw at a Drive-in when I was in my early teens.

Musclemag International of the mid 80's to early 90's was the best hardcore bodybuilding mag by far.   Greg Zulak had some really great training articles, and the photos were superb.
35  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Lou Ferrigno - Picture Gallery, Discussion on: June 26, 2014, 03:01:12 PM
I read an book Ferrigno wrote decades ago where he talked about his life and his training when he first started bodybuilding.   Lou stated that he would eat at least 3 cans of tuna fish a day, and that tuna was his #1 protein source when he started competing.

40  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Early Morning Fasted Cardio on: June 25, 2014, 04:21:28 PM

However, if you're glycogen depleted then more of the calories you're burning will come from fat.

Not necessarily.  Whether your burning glucose or fat depends on the intensity level of the exercise you`re performing, not your glycogen levels.   i.e. A person can have very low glycogen levels and even be depleted of glycogen, and may not be burning fat efficiently if they are exercising beyond their aerobic capacity.  (aerobic vs anaerobic). Your body will break down muscle to fuel anaerobic activity without adequate glycogen.  This is why HIIT is a definite no-no when you are on a ultra-low carbohydrate diet.  When eating ultra low carb, stick to steady-state aerobic cardio, which burns fat for fuel.   If you`re doing HIIT, eat your carbs.

Also, it`s a fallacy that you are carb-depleted in the mornings after a night of sleeping.  The average person has 300gms of glycogen stored in their muscles and in their liver.  A level of glycogen that would need considerably more than 8 hours to deplete.  Around the 48-72 hour mark is where the average sedentary person starts to deplete their glycogen stores.

What I`ve noticed when it comes to chest development is that it`s not the angle of the body, i.e. decline, incline, etc, but where you lower the bar.   When I want to focus on upper chest I do a regular bench press, except I lower the bar to my neck instead of my chest.

43  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Would you ever date a girl with a child? on: June 24, 2014, 09:17:50 PM
I had a relationship with a woman who had a 7 year old Daughter.   The little girl made me a hand-made birthday card for my birthday that she made with construction paper and crayon and glue and glitter.   Her Mother said she had spent 2 hours making the card for me.   I kept that card for many years afterwards, even though I broke up with the Mother.   Young kids can be pains in the asses, and they can also be sources of great joy, even if they are not your biological children.
44  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Sickness/flu just hit me like a truck on: June 24, 2014, 07:14:12 PM
In 2005 I had the stomach flu while on a return flight from London to Calgary.   Back and forth to the bathroom to puke and shit.   People all around me wondering why I was leaving my seat every 10 minutes.  The most sick I've ever been in my life, and made worse by being in a stuffy airplane for 9 hours.

Why bison over very lean hamburger?

I've been eating ground bison for several years now, and most of my main meals revolve around bison when it comes to getting into beach body shape each summer.    A large homemadeTaco salad with ground bison, shredded lettuce, cheese, chopped tomato and spices is one of my favorite meals for getting ripped for summer.
