27  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: PHYSIQUE - Success or Failure? on: June 15, 2014, 01:10:57 PM
Physique is good for the IFBB it attracts a much larger audience. Many competitors land good sponsor deals and are much easier to market. I personally want to look nothing like Kai Or Phil. Sectors like this, wbff and musclemania are bringing aesthetic pleasing builds back.

Mel Brooks looking pretty swole in that pic.

The physique contest is up there with the douchiest things I've ever heard of.  All hair gel, bleached teeth and frosted tips.

Chicks love her.  Practically every female FB friend I have that works out follows DLB and/or posts material that she is part of.

Me thinks he's very lonely and empty inside.  You rarely see him with ppl, and when you do, it's a paid entourage.  I almost feel sorry for him in that pic as he sits cross-legged like a child, alone on the floor counting his jewels while prostitutes lay on his bed counting his money. Undecided

It's very fitting that his lifting equipment consists of rusty rotors welded to rusty rebar.  Perfect, actually.

A gluten allergy is rare. How it became something that is bad for you is beyond me. It's just a trendy thing to say that you are avoiding gluten.

I find weird things going on with alcohol and young people. I see 20 somethings ordering expensive hard liquor then downing it 0.3 seconds in a shot glass. If you don't want to taste it why order something expensive? On the same line is ordering premium liquor then mixing it with a soft drink or other corn syrup crap. Mix cheap liquor if you going to mix it with a coke.

Lol.  Very true.  I see it often as well.  e.g. I picked up a bottle of Macallan 18 to share at a friends wedding last year (not sure if you're a Scotch drinker; it's about a $250 bottle where I live).  There was a young relative (mid 20's) of the bride hanging around so I ask him if he likes Scotch.  He says, "yeah I love Scotch.  I drink it all the time".  I pour him a nice dram and he grabs it and shoots it like tequila, then grimaces as if he's gonna puke.  lol.  I'm not a Scotch snob; he's entitled to drink it however he chooses, but I don't think the kid even know what was in the glass.

38  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Mountain Bikes - 29 inches??? on: May 19, 2014, 01:11:02 AM
I have an inbetween at 27.5 Jamis with full suspension, as when I go mountain biking I tend to do the more awkward trails and jumps so I don't need a down hill fast roller as such. I also own a Giant 26" which I took with me on a trip to Morocco two years ago and spent two weeks mountain biking in the Atlas mountains....stopping by villages to eat roast lamb and drink tea with real Moors.

I can see the fun of the 29" though, I tried one in a good trail and rolled down so fast I was shaking with adrenaline in the end. But they're not suitable for jumps and hard bumpy surfaces as much which is what I like and tend to do.

What do you use for a travel case?  Mountain Equipment Coop in Canada has bike rentals in certain locations, but most don't, so I'll prob just haul my bike with me.  I'll be flying btw, not hauling on a vehicle.  I assume you flew to Morocco.  Thx.

Approach a Canadian local.  Avoid large and sudden movements and speak in an even tone.

"Hello.  I am from America.  The ways of your people are new and strange to me.  I require food and a place in which to eat it.  What is your custom, friend?"

Love the ride man.  I bought a new bike last year for the first time since early college (about 17yrs ago).  I'm hooked again.  Got a 26 'cause it's mostly narrow unkept trails around here.  I think I'll get a 29er next year for travelling.  Prob another Rocky Mountain.  Enjoy your purchase!

They talked to Jon Jones for 30 minutes. They said that he was totally cool, and Jon even initiated a good portion of the conversation. Jon asked them if they were hungry and he even offered my friends some of the food that he was eating.

Bro code translation: "You dipshits, can't you see I'm trying to eat!  Leave me the fcuk alone!"

50  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: What's a good trade to learn considering political, social and economic trends? on: May 03, 2014, 05:44:38 PM
Since you say tickets I assume you're from Western Canada. In the central and eastern regions, they still call them licenses and Red Seal certifications.

Obviously everyone knows that the top rates go to tradespersons with a ticket or at least a first year apprenticeship in mining and oil operations. Which would mean a 3 week on, 1 week off rotation in northern Alberta or Saskatchewan. In northern Ontario there's mining work as well, and it pays very well. But all those jobs are grueling and require long hours. There's no such thing as a lucrative trade that isn't fucking hard. Most people who think they can do that year-round have no clue and wouldn't last long, even for 130k a year. Not to mention the legal mafia comes and seizes half your fucking money when you cross the six-figure threshold.

The underwater thing is a tough course with a fairly stringent matriculation process but you can find work with a few specialized oil companies, yeah. Wouldn't do it myself.

Lots of 2 week on/2 week off also.  Long hours, yes.  Grueling work, not a chance.  At least not in oil and gas.  As long as you show up and stay off the dope, you'll do fine.  It's all union work, and nobody's breaking a sweat.  If you've got half a brain and a backbone, you'll be running a crew in a year or two.  Half the workforce in the oilsands are degenerates that can't stay off the crack or coke for longer than a few days.  The entire place is a shitshow.
