Try Carlson Labs Mini-multi. The vitaminshoppe carries them.

Franco used to eat 1/2 pound of grapes before workouts. I have tried "carb" drinks . I feel more energy with grapes or fruit.  barretta
3  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: High Volume vs HIT on: March 27, 2014, 07:25:10 AM
The best training you can do is the one you ENJOY!!!  If you don't want to spend hours in the gym, don.t. If you do, do it.  There are so many "experts" that say each one is the best way to train. I personally train HIT. MY preferrance, that's all.  Train the way you want to and you will see progress. As long as you are happy, who cares what strangers say on the internet.   Barretta
4  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: how much are your gym fees? on: January 04, 2014, 06:09:50 AM
I pay $0.00. My employer (a university) just added 50,000 sq ft to the fitness center. Three levels, indoor running track, machines etc. On the lower floor is the hardcore area, free weights, LOTS of hammer strength. Plus a employee only area with all the machines and dumbells and a smith machine and cardio. I am very lucky and very grateful to my Employer for this perk!!!
5  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Nutrition, Products & Supplements / Re: Aldi Rocks! on: November 15, 2013, 08:38:49 AM
I love shopping at Aldi. We save so much money! When I go to a "regular" grocery store I  damn near have a heart attack when they ring up the bill!!! Thanks again Princess L for steering me to Aldi.

Go for it, Don't let these "experts" get you down! Only you know the truth. Nobody else. My nephew HAS to eat like you just to maintain 180lbs. @6ft. Me ,I walk by a bakery and gain 5 lbs. Some people just have to hate. Let them! They just don't understand superior Italian Genetics. Chow! Barretta.
7  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Dying vet’s ‘fuck you’ letter to Bush&Cheney needs to be read by EVERY American on: March 20, 2013, 12:56:55 PM
To all you assholes who said he volunteered and quit whining, have never been a part of something bigger than yourselves!! So the measure of a man is to make six figures? Typical "frat boy" mentality. When mom and dad pay for college it is easy to judge. I served six years in the US Navy, got out and raised a family. To all who said you  could have been special forces, give me a fucking break. Why didn't you sign up?  Eat a bag of shit and die!
8  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Nutrition, Products & Supplements / Re: High-dose vitamin C linked to kidney stones in men on: February 13, 2013, 10:09:13 AM
The linus pauling institute at oregon university says you can reach tissue saturation of Vit-C with only 200mgs. This is easily acheived with proper nutrition. It has to be better for your body to get Vit-C from food than synthetic pills. I used to beleave the hype from vitamin companies. Save your $$$$$ for groceries and fruits and veggies!!
9  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Nutrition, Products & Supplements / Re: Vitamin Shoppe's PYTHON: Natural Testosterone Booster, now 50% off. on: January 25, 2013, 05:26:43 AM
Sadly, when vitaminshoppe has 50% off, the item is being phased out.
10  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: people who spend $200+/month on supplements yet think they cant afford steroids on: December 18, 2012, 10:55:43 AM
I used to buy whey, amino's etc... What a huge waste of money!! After research and soul searching, I decided to concentrate on real food.  I do take Vitamin-C 1000 non-acidic   and lecithin. Together they cost  $17.00 for a 100 day supply. It works out to $5.10 a month, not too bad for strictly health supplements. Being a family man, I also buy my "bodybuilding" food at Aldi. Oatmeal, eggs, chicken, and lots of fresh produce. Excellent prices!!  I feel better now than when taking all that crap.
11  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Training Q&A / Re: High-Volume vs. High Intensity Question on: December 17, 2012, 04:47:19 AM
Oldtimer1, reading your posts are like being in my own head. I too am in my fifties[53] and a huge fan of mentzer. When I first started training back in 1978 I used a whole body workout 3 times a week. I trained on First generation Nautilus equipment. Literally gained 20lbs. muscle in 2 years drug free. Over the years Family took priority etc... Now I have the free time to train as much as I want. Tried using the later teachings of mentzer and really felt like crap! Started back on the 3 day whole body  and feel great. My question is were mentzer/jones right in the 70's or in the 90's???
12  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Nutrition, Products & Supplements / Re: Aldi Rocks! on: February 16, 2012, 04:08:16 PM
Dear Princess L,  thank you for nudging me in aldi's direction!!! I was a snob about where I shopped until my wife had to retire do to health reasons. We lost over 20 grand a year, so it was hard to justify spending lots of $$$$ on bodybuilding  food.  I can go to aldi's with $40.00 and come home with LOTS of eggs, oatmeal, produce etc...  Their greek yogurt is all natural and tastes great!! Thanks again, barretta.
13  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Nutrition, Products & Supplements / Re: EAS 100% Whey Protein on: December 07, 2011, 05:49:39 AM
While I prefer to get my protein from egg whites and chicken breasts, whey protein has its uses. Having said that, EAS is owned by abbott labs. They are a HUGE company! They also own Ensure etc... Champion nutrition is made in florida by natures products, a company from Columbia, south america. So before you say" It's garbage" please do some research about who makes your protein or vitamins.
14  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Does high doses of Vitamin C help your workouts? on: December 02, 2011, 11:53:49 AM
Vitamin C helps with recovery after a workout, take it with your evening meal. It also helps with collagen production. Just make sure you take a non-acidic form with bioflavonoids. If you take it daily, your immune function will improve. Also very cheap for what it does for you. I know I will get flack for saying this, but pick up a copy of Franco's "the bodybuilders nutrition book". Very good indepth info about vitamins and minerals.

16  Getbig Alternative Boards / Y Board - The Player's Club / Re: If anyone believes GH15, you should have your head examined on: September 06, 2011, 07:29:43 AM
If GH15 is real, why would you listen to someone who never won the olympia??? Since he failed, he wants everybody else to think it must be the drugs, not hard work and genetics. Good luck in the hospital, or worse prison following his protocol.
17  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: J-rod 11 weeks out of team universe on: May 12, 2011, 05:42:04 AM
So what is the point? If I understand most of the posts here, there is no reason to train hard, diet and improve yourself!! Is everyone here so low in self esteem that you can't build muscle without a shitload of drugs?? Maybe he is natural. Since the rest of you losers are too busy trying to bring him down instead of bettering yourself, just go eat a bag of shit!!  Was john holmes 14 inch cock all drugs?? Did you ever hear of "gifted"?  STOP bringing your lazy pathetic stupid ass views here!! No fucking wonder ice curling is getting TV coverage and not our "sport"!!  thanks for letting an old man rant and rave.

20  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Training Q&A / Re: at what age does weight start to drop? on: April 21, 2011, 09:19:45 AM
I am 52 years old and I am as strong today as twenty years ago. The only difference is the next day after legs, I don't have the recovery I used to have.
21  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: I am going straight nautilus training arthur jones style on: March 29, 2011, 05:28:04 AM
I started this exact routine about 8 months ago. Only doing it because of my age[52]. I am actually getting healthy on it. You stoke your metabolism with this routine. Plus, since it is all machine work, my joints don't hurt either. My son calls it "the old man routine"!!

24  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Nutrition, Products & Supplements / Re: help please! on: February 04, 2011, 08:36:37 AM
Hey superman, do yourself a favor and don't use any protein or creatine supps at all for  6  months!! Years ago I bought into all that crap until I read Franco Columbu's book on nutrition. You will be better off eating steak, chicken, fish etc.  Don't forget lots of fresh veggies and you will grow like a weed!! If you must take supplements, do some research on top quality vitamin companies. A high quality multi-vitamin and some non-acidic vitamin c is all you need to help you utilize your food better and stay healthy. Seriously, I have been lifting since the seventies and still going strong! just try it for 6 months, put your hard earned money towards good food and the vitamins and your body will thank you. Take care, Barretta.
25  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: I'm throwing in the towel! on: December 17, 2010, 06:40:07 AM
I am 51 years old and I understand exactly where you are coming from. "bodybuilding" is supposed to "enhance" your life and health. If you can keep it in check, it really does. The only time  you should obsess about it is if you are entering a contest for prize money aka "pro". The workout routine I follow is 3 days a week, monday, wednesday, friday. After years of dilusional training, I do a complete body workout every workout. I do a couple of light warmup sets and one WORK set to failure for each excercise. I move from machine to machine without  a break and I get a great pump and sweat going!! People actually can't  get that it works, It's great!! It also only takes about 45 minutes to a hour to complete. Good luck and  enjoy your training and most importantly, your life. barreta.
