Women can attend bodybuilding events in Bahrain. I've been to events and seen women in attendance. Bahrain has a female judge and head of the IFBB Asian Womens Commission (Dr. Reem), who is also a competitor. (She competes outside the region) Still not ready for women's shows around here.

Looks like a horrible place... Gyms like this are better. (Minus a shirtless Father Lange of course)...

Not bad. Only thing missing is the Fat Lady and the elephant on the tight rope w/the little umbrella.  Good stuff. :-)

Let me start by saying that Iíve been weight training since I was 9yrs old and Iíve spent the majority of my working life involved in the Health and Fitness business in some aspect. Iíve worked in all types of fitness facilities and managed gyms and recreation centers in Iraq, Kuwait and even Kosovo. Iíve been responsible for building facilities for the military throughout Southern Iraq and Kuwait and have seen some really top notch facilities in my travels back in the US.  With all that being said I can honestly say that Iíve never seen a facility on the level of Oxygen Gym, Jabriya. Itís without a doubt the best Iíve ever seen. Keep in mind that these pics were taken while still in the construction phase. These are prior to facility cleaning and final equipment placement.  Thereís really know way I can do this facility any justice by typing words on my laptop. This is a definite must see.  Bader Boodai has created a masterpiece of a facility with hand picked equipment, not limited by name brand or year of production. Cybex, Hammer, Nebula, Nautilus, and the list goes on and on.  Old pieces, new pieces, you name it and itís there. All I can say is if you ever get a chance to visit the facility once it opens donít pass it up.  I was lucky enough to get a special guided pre opening tour from Bader Boodai and after leaving all I could say was WOW!.

i'd say get big has been pro sami then con for yrs...has great build and good for him on his placing ,we've been saying saying for a long time he would make impact at 202/212 and he did.

That's cool. I don't agree at all but no matter. I think we all agree now that Sami has a great physique and he's definitely a welcome addition to the Pro ranks.  Great to see a competitor with the symmetry, lines and conditioning like Sami brought to the stage. He'll definitely be a force in any competition he enters.  Big props for Sami and I'm looking forward to seeing him take the stage again. He's been a huge force on the Amateur scene Internationally and it's great to see him get the recognition he deserves.

Well obviously you don't know much about Sami's history here on Getbig. Ask around PAL.  Yes, I see the threads. It's called jumping on the bandwagon. Ask around before you speak about something you know nothing about. There was so many Sami haters on this board I started to think some of these clowns only logged in to Sami bash.  That's the point of my comment. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see Getbigers giving a bodybuilder his props based on his physique and his performance instead of the personal jaded opinions on the individual.  Go back and look up some of the old threads on Sami and you'll see what I'm talking about. I'm sure some of those same haters are reading this thread right now and keeping very very quite.

I'm so glad Sami finally got the chance to shut up more than a few mouths, especially here on Getbig.  So many guys thinking they are so smart and funny, wanting to make jokes at the expense of one of the best bodybuilders in the game, and now it's obvious they don't have a clue and never did. I've been a big supporter of Sami's ever since I first saw him compete in Kuwait way back in the day. I moved to Kuwait in 95 for work and I've been following bodybuilding in the Middle East ever since.  I started a website and Facebook page Kuwaitbodybuilding.com and we are big fans of Sami and knew his potential all along. Congrats to Sami and George and I'm looking for some really great things from Sami in the future.

I'm glad there's more than a few of you that recognize the hate. If anyone one here says that Sami isn't a legitimate contender in any IFBB Pro League 212lb class competition then they don't need to be on this page because they know absolutely nothing about bodybuilding.  Personal opinions aside, it's obvious to see that Sami has a great physique and will be very competitive in the 212lb Class.

Here's a shot of Sami at the FIBO during a guest posing routine. Unimpressive?  I think not.

He wasn't training in Kuwait. He competes for Qatar and that's where he was training if I'm not mistaken. He didn't compete in the IFBB Worlds, as Qatar recently switched from the IFBB to the WBPF. He competed in the WBPF Asian Championships in Bangkok, Thailand where he took the Overall and he also did the WBPF Worlds where he won his weight class but not the overall.

Yes, i know your page on facebook. Tons of material there, good job.  Wink

I think its a bad move for Essa....Farah brought him to a whole new level and he should have sticked with him, but we'll see..
Yeah, you can't argue with the results that Farrah achieved with Essa. Essa made some serious gains from the time he won the Arnold Amateur to the time he took the stage for the Europa.  Not sure what drove his decision but you can't argue with Hany's reputation and results either. He's one of the best if not the best prep guy around.  In Bodybuilding, and in most other sports for that matter, there is always some behind the scenes goings on that we the public may not be prevy too.  Sometimes it's not always about how good a job someone can do.  I have no info on why he's with Hany now but I'm confident Hany can take him where he wants to go.  We'll see. Best of luck to Essa and I can't wait to see him take the stage against the true big boys of the game.

Thx bro...so did he work with farah earlier...or was george there only to help him with interviews?
Keep us updated!

Yes, he was working with Farrah. I'm not sure of the status of their relationship at this point. I don't know if he still uses George or if he has broken ties with him. I didn't inquire into it when I was getting the info on Hany.  I'll definitely keep you posted on anything I find out dealing with Essa.  I think he'll surprise a lot of people just like he did at the Europa.

My name is Patrick and I have a Facebook page called Kuwaitbodybuilding.com. My page is dedicated to promoting the sport of bodybuilding in Kuwait and throughout the region. From running this page I've made a lot of great connections in the Middle East bodybuilding scene. As Essa is from Dubai I have become familiar with him and his team and try to update my page with as much information as possible on his career.  That being said, I have found out from a very reliable source that Essa has teamed up with Hany Rambod in his preparation for the upcoming Arnold Classic. I've also heard that he is already seeing some great changes in his physique.  I hope to have more exclusive info on Essa as the contest date approaches. Stop by my Facebook page and check it out. Lots of great info and pics on regional athletes and events.

17  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: 2nd World Bodybuilding & Physique Championship (WBPF ) on: November 12, 2010, 12:03:42 PM
Pat people here know what 2nd means, Deicide was just referring to what the term ''2nd world'' meant in a historical/political context Roll Eyes besides this contest really isnt a true world championship when the majority of countries are Asian and very few non Asian countries are represented Roll Eyes

WEIBK you say Iraq bodybuilders are full of drugs and thats why Iraq returns to IFBB but all bodybuilders are full of drugs, in ABBF if you fail a drug test you just pay Paul Chua US$10,000 bribe and you get back in, Paul Chua's friend Simon Chan just got 3 years prison sentence for doing that and Hong Kong bodybuilder Chan Yun To got 16 months prison sentence because he failed ABBF drug test the paid Chua bribe to get back in, WBPF and ABBF is corrupt joke Roll Eyes
The only difference between the IFBB and WBPF is a few letters of the alphabet.  Unfortunately the problems faced in one of the organizations is the same problems face by the other. These issue sadly seem to be inherent in our sport. To sit back and point fingers is like living in a glass house and throwing stones.  Lets hope one day this may not be true but this day I think it is.

This event was the 2nd World Championships, meaning there has already been a first. If you looked into it just a little bit you would see that the 1st World Championships in Dubai was a huge success and the athletes that competed in it were top notch. I guess some people don't have anything better to do then to spend time on Getbig posting negative replies to everything that's said and then complain about not being interested in the info. If you're not interested then what are you doing on the page and why are you replying to the info.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.  Smiley

these arabs will defend each other blindly...which is why the middle east is a shit hole and will always be a shit hole

This doesn't have anything to do with Arabs defending each other. It may have something to do with racism and prejudice with a tad bit of jealousy thrown in for good measure.  You guys are clowns and comments like the one you posted is just proof.  You have the nerve to put that BS in writing and post it on the net for everyone to see how stupid you are.  By the way, I'm an American and proud of it. I've been living in the Middle East for years and have been following the bodybuilding scene overe here since 95.  I know Sami and have seen him compete and guest pose in Kuwait on many occasions. Maybe if you could get past your racism and prejudice you could see what many others around the world have already seen.  Sami has a bright future in this sport and I wish him nothing but success.

swampi is a liar and a fool, why does he dodge the issue of him being banned for life by the IFBB? and he claims to be natural Roll Eyes stop defending him Pat, let him do it himself, why are you so upset about the comments here? what are you his boyfriend Roll Eyes

Why are you so hung up on Sami being banned from the IFBB?  Who cares?  If you don't know that bodybuilding, among most other sports, is extremely political then you need to open your eyes.  Who cares about why he's back in the IFBB?  As far as that Natural thing, I don't know why you even waist your time entertaining that subject.  It's not even worth discussing. We all know the deal so why entertain it. (WHO CARES!) You think the guys he's competing with now are natural?  I wouldn't say i'm upset about your comments as much as perplexed and if there is any question about someone being anybody's boyfriend I think we all here need to be asking you.  You are by far the no. 1 person most infatuated by Sami on this forum and probably on the Internet in general. Absolutely no debate on that and I'm sure anybody who has been on this forum for more than 5 mins can attest to that.  My question is WHY?  For some reason Sami's got your number. I bet you can't get a good nights sleep without having nightmares about Sami.  "Give it up Dude!"  Just accept the fact that he's got a great physique and more than likely will have a very successful career in the sport. (even more so than he has already)  End of story.
21  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Where is Sami the Blacksmith after his FAIL at the on: March 18, 2010, 07:09:02 AM
The abuse he's getting is because he just comes on here and spams the forums with pictures of himself. Also cocky as fuck claiming he could be top 10 at the O when he's not even a pro. He definantly has potential and doesn't come across as a douchebag, but a cool guy in interviews.

Half the people chimming in to give their 2 cents don't know the first thing about Sami.  What they do know is what they read some clown post on what he heard some other clown say.  If you look at the sport of bodybuilding you will see that it is a sport that's all about self promotion.  There are very few up and coming bodybuilders that have gone anywhere without doing some sort of self promotion. I'm not saying you can't make it without self promoting but there are very few that have done it.  In bodybuilding it's all about you, the individual.  Sometimes that means promoting yourself.  Like you said, Sami comes across alright in interviews.  That's because what you see in interviews and in person is not the same thing as what you read on some Forum or what some clown has misinterpreted or misunderstood.  If we all based or likes and dislikes of bodybuilders on what these clowns on these forums are basing their likes and dislikes of Sami then there would be very few bodybuilders that anyone actually liked.  Think about.  Who was more stuck on himself than Arnold back in the day?  Even before he accomplished all he did.  If he wasn't the way he would have never accomplished what he did. But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion.  I'm sure it doesn't do much more than provide fuel for Sami to work harder and to accomplish more. He's already accomplished more in this sport than all these clowns put together and in my opinion he still has more to go.  Don't worry, you haters will have more chances to hate on Sami in the future. I'm sure you haven't seen the last of him.  It's a good thing too or you guys wouldn't have anything to do in your spare time.   Wink
22  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Where is Sami the Blacksmith after his FAIL at the on: March 18, 2010, 06:38:51 AM
Obviously none of you actually paid any attention to the Arnold Amateurs this year.  Although Sami didn't win his class it was close enough that it could have gone either way.  In many peoples opinions Sami should have won.  One thing for sure, you haven't seen the last of Sami. It's easy for all of you to sit back and crack jokes and make fun becuase it's easier for you to do that than to admit that Sami has a great physique. I'm positive that every last one of you joke crackers wouldn't dare to stand side by side with Sami on stage.  But then again he's probably not as good as you are in sitting behind a computer screen making personal attacks on people you don't know anything about.  Anyway, it's all good. You guys hold down the personal attack thing and let Sami do the bodybuilding.  Like I said, I'm sure you haven't seen the last of Sami.  Any true fan of the sport would have some appreciation for Sami physique and his potential. I don't even know why some of you bother to post on bodybuilding forums.

Thank you. It's funny how these guys will say this is gay, but that isn't. I.E., those schmoing videos are gay, but watching your favorite musclemen, oiled up, and flexing to music for your enjoyment ( Undecided) is not.

I said before, I'll say it again, a bbing pageant is no different than a Chippendale-like strip show. Only difference is, the striper are smart enough to ALWAYS get paid.  Lips sealed

I have to disagree with you on this buddy.  I enjoy the sport of bodybuilding and have for most of my life. It's all about individuals striving to achieve a goal, (set standard) even though the judging criteria seems to be ever changing but basically trying to achieve the best muscular conditioning, symmetry, mass, etc. Attempting to achieve the ultimate physique.  Competing against others to determine who has put it all together the best on that day.  I'm not even a competitive bodybuilder but I understand what it takes to create physiques like those we see in the pages magazines and on stage.  For me, it has nothing to do with admiring the individuals sexually/ being a schmoe.  I guess that's the difference between a true lover of the game and someone who's in it for other motives.  Just my opinion.
