this is kind of off topic, but I did an internship in Cleveland OH a few years ago, and Valerie ran a health food restaraunt across the street from where I was working downtown. The food, and shakes were good, and she was always extremely nice and interesting to talk to.

Totally agree with YoungBlood. Nobody respects the drivers in this industry, when respect is due. The hours/miles they are asked to drive when some knucklehead dispatcher booked a load for a driver, when they are not even 100% sure of the drivers hours, whether or not he is rested, etc. Some things drivers are asked to do are dangerous, but freight doesn't stop moving, so they are forced to take the load, or they are stuck in a certain area so they have to take the load, etc. I could go on, totally agree that this could be a whole other thread in itself. Many people don't respect the long haul drivers on the road, but after years in this industry, I certainly do.

I actually broker freight for a living, due to the current status of the economy, everything is price driven. Last summer when gas was $5 a gallon there were a lot of truckers with tons of work, and they were making bank. Currently its not like that. There is no loyalty in this business and everyone is finding that out right now. Tons of huge companies out there just looking for the cheapest guy/truck.
