durian is nasty. Unless you are Asian, then it's nasty. When ripe it smells like dead road kill and is fuzzy on the outside.
But have you tasted it? It smells like a dead animal? Come to Malaysia. The place of origin  ....we have some of the best tasting durians in the world. Basically it's creamy like a pudding...you either love it or hate it with a vengeance  . Does the bad smell become eclipsed by the good taste of the fruit? Can you get me some of these glasses? |

But if the person(s) praying genuinely believe all the baloney, prayer can function to reinforce a web of beliefs and feelings of well-being/comfort derived from that web.
Also, the acknowledgment that we are not in total control (but an all-knowing, all-powerful Being is - Who has our best interests at heart) can also take a lot of pressure off and results in increased peaceful feelings. And that's no "bologna" |

IMO, praying is not pointless. It can bring feelings of peace and comfort and hope as well as closeness and fellowship w/God.
I do not think God changes His mind regarding His will. I recently heard that someone heard a speaker say that there are X number of prayers that need to be prayed to change Y (a specific situation) and then God will change it in that way, but I have no idea what the guy is basing that on and it doesn't seem scriptural.
I do believe that at times people pray more according to His will than others.
Maybe prayer can help "change" certain details in the way things go? Kind of like how we have free will, but God's ultimate plan will be accomplished?
BS, do you feel any presence of peace or comfort when you pray?

I DONT care what the average age of was in the past, but in this day and age, for an adult, it is 18. EIGHTEEN. EIGHT-TEEN. Get it.
It is pathetic when kids under 16 even think about it because they feel pressured. Enough.
Girls at the age of 12 is BULLSHIT! Get it! I have a daughter who is 9, I have lot's of friends of have 12 year old daughters.
They are capable of a lot of things, but their mind is not their yet. Simple as that.
We live in an age where we have been enlightened to understand that our kids can go to school, can learn to be anything they want, can take their time to enjoy life.
400 years ago people thought the earth was flat. They thought they needed to make sacrifices of people to earn the trust of gods.
150 years ago, they never thought they would be driving in cars, in planes.
50 years ago, what the hell was a computer
20 years ago, an Ipad.
So screw this crap, we are not going back to where freaking idiots ruined their kids because they thought it was the way it should be.
Don't we have enough of this around the world now?
Maybe in 20-30 years, they might be enlightened enough to get it soon too.
And this has NOTHING to do with religion, just ignorance.
So STOP WITH ANY FREAKING FORM of CHILD anything on this board.
It isnt the place, nor do I want it here. 18+ is what I like. End of story.

Its very simple Stella. You claimed to know lulu (That's since changed to now only knowing W8M8)....but like Chaos and Ron none of you have actually met her?
I asked you what you thought of lulu's posts about my mother/ family today in this thread? You said I know & back lulu....and then said you never read the entire posts she made?
I cannot make it any more simple.
Grant I apologize i must not be clear in my posts or you are misinterpreting/misunderstanding them. And I am obviously not reading yours as you intend because when you revisit them they seem to have different meanings, at least to me. So in light of that I once again congratulate Omr on his modship. The end. |

Of course I don't agree with personal info being posted. What do you mean if I didn't read all the posts don't comment? I thought you asked me to comment? Maybe I misunderstood your question and/or you misunderstood my answer? Well, if you didn't read the posts....then why comment?
I see lulu has deleted the posts.....but luckily they were quoted.
Go back and read them before defending someone?
It's clear Ron and OneMoreRep haven't read them either.
Lulu posted Shizzo's address and place of work. Then posted a bunch of anti-Jewish hatred and stuff about my mother being gang-raped.
Read it before you comment?

Well, nice to see that you defend the hatred in Lulu's posts in this thread for OMR.....The Jewish hatred? The references to my mother being gang-raped?
I had a different view of you Stella. There really isn't any defending these lulu posts......is there?
Did I say I defended the content of the post re: the Jewish comments? No. I didn't read any mother gang rape reference. I don't always read entire posts depending on content, length and board posted on. Where did I say I defend a gang rape post? When you asked me my opinion on lulu told you that I believe she is who I said she is and that she has strong opinions on certain subjects and when confronted or attacked may tear someone a new one. I also said she is capable of neutralizing if Ron requests and all parties do the same. As most are aware, opinions in the last posts may or may not be hers. |

Yeah....but remember that it isn't 12 or 15 posters.....it's about 2 in total with plenty of gimmicks and too much time to waste.
I could block them....but I'll let Ron make the decisions.
Even Stella/Butterbean posted her to defend lulu...and then deleted her post? LOL!
I deleted mine because you deleted yours and I quoted you. I figured you had some reason for deleting and in respect to that, I deleted mine as well. |
