I am looking forward to seeing Herb and my boy Nino duking it out at the Ironman.

As you said, there are just too many competitors here who bitch and complain but never speak up or try to do something about it.

I look at it like this:  I only have one life to live. 

      Do I live it to my full potential and do everything in my power to realize that potential?  Do I live a life that I can look back on and be proud of?  That my parents would be proud of?  Do I live a life that's real and sincere and do things because of my love for them?

      Or

      Do I live a life of shame?  Do I live a life that reflects how I can impress others?  Do I live a life that reflects my fear of failure?  Do I act like everything is cool because I don't want to get in trouble or stand out?  Do I live a life of a fake and succomb to wasting it on irrelevent activities?

      I am not saying by any means that I nor anyone is perfect or should be.  I am saying that one day you, I and every living person will look back and ask what did I do with my life? 

      The IL scene is like Highschool to me.  Everyone wants to be in the coolest click.  The problem is this:  You have to be cool to belong but in order to be cool you have to belong.  Get what I'm sayin'  You're screwed basically.  Then when you look back at your Highschool days you see that all those "cool kids" are in the same situation now as they were before.  Only now being cool aint so cool.  Now all you have to show is that you have your cool friends (if you even stay friends) and no life, a dead end job and the rights to be in a click which gets you nothing in the outside world. 

      Competitors of IL,
                     Ask yourself this.  Is your name or recognition or anything, worth losing your pride and sense of character.  Is getting into that click or getting close to someone because it will elevate you to the next level (possibly) worth losing who you are deep down?  We all age and our priorities change.  Like it or not, one day you will no longer be on top no matter what you do.

      Just saying the IL scene is messed up or ignoring it will not make it better.  The East Coast and West Coast are better because they work to be better.  They work together. 

      Do you think that half of the worlds discoveries and inventions would have been made had all the scientists brushed off the others in hopes that they would get all the fame?  NO!  They know better.  They know that each person has a field in which they excell and that by combining forces they can reach a common goal.

      What do you think would happen if every IL competitor united?  It would force changes to be made that's what would happen.  Look at the Ironman this year.  It has mandatory Friday night weigh-ins. 

      If you think that just happened because they thought out of the blue "Hey, we should have Friday night weigh-ins!"  Then you have some major issues.  We pushed the envelope and they responded.  Simple as that.

I saw that Chuck and most of the others were not at the Continental.  Don't know what's up with that.

I do intend on going to the Ironman however.  I still want to take Chuck up on his offer and hope to catch him for at least a second after the show.  If anything he needs to know that I am not someone just sitting behind a screen name and I feel that my ideas and suggestions can greatly improve (or at least set the balls in motion) the state of IL bodybuilding.

I am not your normal competitor and while I would like it if my name is not tarnished by the powers that be, I don't care too much.  Bodybuilding is great and I love it but it's not my whole life.  I have much higher aspirations like NASA baby!

My man Nino Siciliano is competing in the Open Lightweight and Masters.  This dude is crazy ripped and dense.  He usually competes as a Welterweight or Middleweight but he is doing his damndest to come in tight and ripped as fuck!

He already won the open middle weight and I think he may have won the overall at the Ironman as well.  He told me he's doing it because he is pissed about his 6th place finish at the Masters Nationals a couple months ago where he really should have been 4th or 5th.

He has never won the Masters at the Ironman either so he figured what the Hell!

I have been crazy busy with school lately so I haven't been able to really spend too much time on the boards.

These are all very good points and ideas which I believe can be put in motion given the right enviroment.  I personally have nothing against Chuck because to be honest with you, it's not entirely his fault that IL is in the dumps.

I understand that he is busy but he seriously has let some real bad seeds germinate under his nose.  I am also aware of what happens when you ignore a probelm for too long.  It just keeps growing until one day when you actually want to fix it you realize that it is too late.

It's kind of like having a big growth forming on your foot.  You ignore it and ignore until one day you can't walk so you are forced to use a wheel chair.  Then it takes over your entire leg and moves to your midsection.  Now it is so damn big that you have to excrete your waste through a tube.  It gets to a point where you are bed ridden and are being fed through a tube.  Now you decide you should have it removed so you don't die.

Guess what?  You can no longer have it removed because the operation will kill you.  It's too damn bad that you just didn't have it taken care of earlier when it was only a minor inconvenience.  

Chuck has too much going on under his nose and around him and he knows that he can't do much to change it now without major work and restructuring.  You can't just implement a new system of government over night just like the IL scene can't be rebuilt instantly.  

This stuff will take a lot of work and time, two things of which Chuck has no energy for or any of.

I think that we just have to stay active in implementing new ideas and blood into this scene either by direct action or show of force (ie. no fans no money).  Because in my oppinion, booting Chuck out will not solve our problems here.

On a side note:  The Mike and Brian pissing match was completely and utterly stupid and childish.  Who in their right mind makes an account on a forum to trash talk another competitor who is talking smack about them?  Who really gives a fuck?  A bigger man just ignores it and moves on.  If you spent your entire life argueing or bitching about someone or to someone because they hurt your feelings, you would have a sad, sad life my friend.  There are much more important things than proving your manhood or standing by your competition record on some stupid forum.  Give me a fuckin break!

It really is a shame how right when my MD thread went down it seemed like the IL scene fell back into its slumber.  Something must be going on right now.  I have had my head in the books lately and have not had the energy to get on here and tear things up.

There seemed to be quite a bit of flaming on MD when I had my IL thread up. 

Funny thing is supposedly several mods are helping to figure out what happened to my thread.  Hmmmm.....  I think it just must of collapsed upon itself.  I guess it was a star that shined too bright at the end of its lifetime and exploded pooling its energy into a black hole devoid of life and erasing its mere existence forever.

It took me only a week to realize that RX muscle is a gay schmoe site where the posters seem to know more about universal questions about the existence of God and paranormal phenomenon amongst others including but not limited to parallel universes and whether the Theory of Evolution can actually be considered a scientific theory at all (considering it cannot be tested) than they know about how Insulin works!  I kid you not. 

Seriously, there is a such thing as Google and even books.  Yes, books.  Those things you read in school which contain various letters that form words and ultimately sentences!

Anyway, I am glad to be here and hope that many of my followers join in what should be a very fun ride into the underbelly of the IL bodybuilding subculture.

As for MD, well it was fun while it lasted and I looked at it from the stand point that I had a large target audience there to get a lot of feedback.  Hopefully we will see some of the others here soon.  The word is already out and I brought the dip!
