52  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: 1996 Mr. Olympia PICS You May Not Have Seen!!! on: August 08, 2013, 03:30:44 PM
Charles Clairmonte was the shit.  Perfect lines and an athletic looking physique - looks functional.  I remember after his Olympia how the Flex writers had their little column criticizing the physiques.  These untrained fucks actually sat there telling pros what they needed to work on.

So the criticism on Clairmonte was that he could 'easily pack on 20-30lbs without losing symmetry.'  and guess what, the next year he shows up some 20lbs heavier andd with a gut and not as conditioned.

Same thing with Munzer.  Guy was more ripped than a pair of underwear of an obese fuck.  Yet they critique his physique for not being as hard as 'he has been in the past.'  They literally made that guy kill himself.

Pathetic ... Jongit is going to be back quite soon, and laugh at Issara's fallen career.

Jesus Christ Ron you actually follow badmin?

54  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Alistair Overeem - Bodybuilder? on: August 06, 2013, 06:39:29 PM
He looked really shitty after the last fight, physique wise.  I thought he went all-natural after that too high ratio test.  Tough to tell what he really looks like based on one pic though.

55  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Haven't hit the weights in one month on: August 04, 2013, 06:30:51 PM
For sure.  I know the worse thing to do is nothing st all because you feel like shit when you comeback.  I want to wait at least until I see this doctor.  I think I made it much worse by trying to work through it when it hurt only a little.  If I know I won't make it worse ill be back there like a fly on shit.
56  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Haven't hit the weights in one month on: August 04, 2013, 06:04:27 PM
My sciatic nerve has had me fucked.  When it starts feeling better I fuck it up somehow and I'm back to limping and unable to walk straight.  I'm seeing a sports medicine dude next week though.

I don't feel particularly out if shape or small, but I think a month is the limit for me to maintain a semblance of shape.  Went to the beach today and got above average looks but not like when I'm training normally.  Some days I feel almost pumped, like if my body was getting a shot of testosterone to compensate for lack of training.

I was looking forward to hitting the weights really hard this summer but this shit came out of nowhere and won't leave.  I can't even do push-ups as that makes me arch my back slightly and that pinges on my nerve.

Just thought it interesting that I haven't fallen completely apart
T after a month of inactivity.  What's the longest you getbiggers have gone without hitting the iron?
57  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Best Short Bodybuilders all time on: August 04, 2013, 05:50:56 PM
I don't like the criteria most of you's are basing it on.  To me it's the short guys that maxed out their bodies who are the most impressive, not the ones who played it safe and just did enough drugs to bring out their natural lines.

In that respect, Priest when he was 21' Columbu was the most massive per square inch.  Benaziza could not have been bigger.  Labrada was bullshit.  Good physique and great symmetry but any teenager could've achieved that shape given those chemicals.  At 5'7 I got as big as him (195), obviously not as cut not same muscle size, naturally.   So fuck him.

How tall was Munzer?  But really, Flavvio Baciannini was actually flawless.  Other than being too short, he had zero deficiencies in his physique.  David Dearth too.  Sawn ray was lacking calves a bit and legs almost overshadowed lower body
58  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Mark Munoz on: July 22, 2013, 06:04:59 AM
those Filipinos are always in danger of being obese.  Everyone of them i know eats like Vikings.  If you lost your Filipino friend at a mall, just go to the all-you-can eat buffet.
59  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: key to solving lower back, only able to straight leg my right leg up 25 degrees on: July 19, 2013, 05:42:58 AM
dude calm down and just stretch it for minites a time

relax on the floor or bed and put one leg up high as you can on a wall without bending your knee, hold that stretch for a long time youll feel that pain right at the glute and lower back area. do it while watching tv so its relaxing and enjoyable

I think you're absolutely right.  I stretch for like 30 mins yesterday morning and 15mins at night before bed.  I did what you described (holding leg up as high as possible).  Hurt like hell but i felt it right at the top of glutes and down to my hams.  Feels much better this morning.

I'm supposed to see a 'pain specialist' today but i'm really thinking of canceling.  I was referred to a clinic that's an all-in-one; Chiro, PT, and a bunch of silly shit.  They just want to throw me from one person to another to drain my health insurance.

I already feel much better today and now i can see myself getting better.  Still hurts but with more stretching it should get better.
60  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: key to solving lower back, only able to straight leg my right leg up 25 degrees on: July 18, 2013, 07:09:08 AM

My sciatic feels much better now.

61  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: key to solving lower back, only able to straight leg my right leg up 25 degrees on: July 18, 2013, 06:49:41 AM
I got a severely painful sciatic nerve.  Can't bend at the waste at all.  Getting in the car is a torture.  My left ham is tight as a virgin and incredibly tender to the touch.  Seeing a chiropractor and stretching for now.  Will be getting an MRI soon.

Fucking sucks not being able to move in summer.
62  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Horrible MMA Ref on: June 17, 2013, 06:39:29 PM
Youre thinking about Yamazaki.  Mazzagatti is the dude who had a mustache before.  I think he's legit a slow adult.
63  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: So i'm having lunch... on: June 17, 2013, 06:37:08 PM
That's one way to look at it i suppose.  Call me insecure but to me it's a sign of disrespect to learve someone's company when you make a social commitment to do something together.
64  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / So i'm having lunch... on: June 17, 2013, 06:31:18 PM
eating a getbigger meal: rice, beans, steak, a few pieces of lettuce.  So this dude and a woman he's with sit down behind me to eat.  Two mins into their meal, the woman gets a call, looks at her phone and as she picks it up and starts talking, she's running out the restaurant.

Dude keeps eating.  Eventually i finish eating.  Dude is hanging out still waiting for this woman to comeback.  By now her food is cold.  I eventually leave the restaurant and she's nowhere to be seen outside.

Now i don't know if that's just his friend, girlfriend or some random girl he hangs with.  Whatever the fucking case might be, there's no way i'd put up with that shit.  Was i him i'd finish my food extra fast and leave all her shit there.  If i'm not good enough to hold your attention then fuck off.  I'm the main event.

What would you alpha getbiggers have done in that situation?
65  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The Reem with his girl at the beach on: May 17, 2013, 09:05:18 AM
Damn he looks like shit off gear.  I should've known better than to buy into him having been 'not on gear.'  He looks like he's stopped working out altogether.  Even his structure looks like shit now whereas before it looked great.  Drugs>Genetics.

Eccentric dude but he's a hero for sure.

Not eccentric at all.  Only if you grew up in the suburbs.  Guy should be on every late night talk show.  More personality than Leno/O'brien/Letterman put together.

69  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Mariusz "PUDZIAN" Pudzianowski and his Lamborghini on: March 17, 2013, 07:09:20 AM
The only cars that are 'investment' are very old classics and Ferraris.  Ferraris are actually the only cars you can buy and sell for a profit - at least the special ones like ENzo, maybe the 430 but not really.  Either way, they don't depreciate much.  A long term tester at Evo magazine went from a Porsche Carrera Supercar to a Lambo 570 to a LP640.  On the way back from having picked it up at San Agata, the brand new Lambo broke down!

The factory had to take it back to fix it.  What a piece of shit for a car that's 200K+.  Also, Audi ruined Lambo by throwing in 4wd on everything.  Fucking Audi with their quatro bullshit marketing shit.  I'd buy a Maseratti just to drive it for a year though.  They're cheap as hell second hand.

there are some people who look at exotics as investments...those that do, stay away from Lambos and Maseratis---they depreciate like a rock. Lambo because it has no real racing history, and because it has a "image problem"---it's the marque for douchebags. Lambo's top man (Mr. Winklemann) has acknowledge this.
Maseratis---well a 2007 Quattroporte tends to go for 127k, when new, a few yr ago you can pick one up for
27k...that is 100k in depreciation. Far more than a Lexus/Beemer/Porsche of the same age. A Lexus is better investment than a Maserati? That's sad.

Some investors do. But, the market is fickle, sometimes a hard run car will garner more than a pristine one. Or one that had that "rusted patina" on it. Depends on the rarity, make and model.
Babyboomers have driven the market up for numbers matching Muscle Cars. And the new "it" cars are e30 BMWs and pristine last gen Supras.  Two cars are different spectrums, but prices are spiking for them.

People who have money to throw around and bought a Murci when new, probably have multiple other cars. And when tired of the car, got rid of it, and when the Aventador came out, got that. It's always the newest...

It's not a piece of shit, I was saying only in terms of investment or depreciation.
A car that was 200k+, now worth about 50-80?
And who knows where Pudz lives, and where the car came from.

No, I don't have 80k to drop on a car.
But, I find it funny to assume that just because we see some dude in a high price exotic, that he "has the money", particularly when it's here today, gone tomorrow.
Like a guy who deals with these cars said to me, "We can get you into the car...whether or not you can keep it is one thing."
70  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: GSP says Anderson will lose to Chris on: March 13, 2013, 06:21:47 PM
No one is in the same league as Anderson at 185.  The competition is terrible at middle weight and Anderson knows it.  That's why he only ventures out of his weight class to fight mid-tier fighters or fighters like forest griffin, who's slow plodding straight forward style is terrible match up against Silvas counter punching and quickness.

Maybe.  I'd really would've like if Dana gave Rampage to Anderson as his last fight - Rampage that is.  Rampage bitched and bitched about fighting guys that only wanted to take him down.  Would've loved to see Silva against a guy that would have potentially posed a danger to him.  Of course Silva would've destroyed Rampage, who can't check a leg kick for shit.
71  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Who made the best out of their shitty genetics? Pros only on: March 12, 2013, 05:19:07 PM
Hey look, an actual bodybuilding topic!

Yes, genetics are everything in so far as bodybuilding is concerned.  One only needs to look at some BB'ers when they get off gear and become Bruce Banner after the Hulk isn't angry anymore.  To be a success in bodybuilding is to be a great responder.  THat being said, there have been a few peeps that have made great strides despite having not the best genetics.

For me, the only candidate that comes to mind is Rich Gaspari.  Narrow shoulders, not tall, wide hips, small chest, arms.

I'd post more pics but i can't figure that shit out on this Mac.  Every pic result is a damn website and i can't isolate the images' url or what not.  Fucking shit.

Who had shittier BB genetics than Gaspari, but was actually successful?  I could see this becoming a tribute to Palumbo otherwise.

72  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Is time spent in the gym time away from life on: February 26, 2013, 05:35:29 PM
What is life?

What is life to you Rhomboids?

Getting a family, raising your children?

Then yes,it's away from life. Get a homegym in the house and be with yer kids instead.

Life is a roll of the dice.  To me life is akin to different fighting techniques.  You can spend all your life mastering a one-dimensional art (boxing, Karate) and being potentially great at it, or you can dedicate yourself to being above average at every martial art - or being an audience member.

Getting a family and raising children is a social trap perpetrated so that you can never really become a trouble maker or pursue your dreams.  What does every action movie teach you?  The kids are always the achilles heel to the action star.

In my 30's i have a decent idea of what it means to live.  I sacrificed a lot of my teenage years in the gym at the expense of a social life, but i still have long ways to go.  I never spent that long in the gym, but the time wasted was in making sure to not miss a meal, enough rest and all the bullshit the magazines in the 90s told us to do.

Really i'm not bitter...
73  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Ninja Warrior 27- Japan's Ultimate Obstacle Course, How would getbiggers get on? on: February 26, 2013, 05:01:18 PM
Yes.  The guy i think on the second screen up there finished it once.  He's the only guy to complete the course.  THe last stage is basically climbing a long ass rope in 30secs or so.  I love watching the Japanese show but the American one doesn't have the same feel for me.
74  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: More crossfit.. on: February 25, 2013, 07:00:26 PM
I get sick of this stupid shit.  I've had people come up and tell me about this great thing that's awsome and i should try it and i would really love it.  It's the consequence of no longer possessing an above average muscle mass.  Now these fucking hardgainers think i need a workout.  Back in my day these fucks wouldn't even bother looking at me for longer than 2secs.

Bodybuilding 4'life.
75  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Is time spent in the gym time away from life on: February 25, 2013, 06:54:24 PM
As i was looking around, realized that it's pretty cool to have a winter sport lined up since winter sucks so fucking much.  Now once i master snowboarding, i didn't enjoy skiing, i can look forward to winters.  But looking around i couldn't but notice that i didn't spot a single getbigger anywhere.  This made me think.  Does spending more time in the gym keep you away from other things in life?  Or life itself?

To be honest i don't run into any getbiggers other than in the gym or maybe at the front door of a club.  What's the point if you just use your great body to look in teh mirror when you're at the gym?  Having bodybuild in my teens, i don't look like people who just casually exercise, BUT, i never spent more than 3 days in the gym in a week.  Even so, many sacrifices were made in terms of diet and maintaining the lifestyle.

I follow the same type of workout as i always have but im a little more inconsistent and i'm not putting on new weights at every workout.  However, given 3 months of straight training i'm 90% back in top shape - and on a bad day no one can ask; do you even lift?  But now i appreciate the workout more because i'm using my body more.  There's just no sense in putting in all this work and not making your body move in different ways.

Im playing more sports, hitting the bag every now and then and now getting into winter sports.

The idea of spending most of your free time in the gym pumping yourself up only to not do anything with it seems incomprehensible to me now.

How do you getbiggers feel about this?
