This post is why I generally tune out anyone using a degree as a claim for validity. Just talk to anyone studying environmental science there are ways to do it.
I.E. a polluter pays fee directly proportional to their area's population. Just as a car insurance rate is directly in proportion to the number of car accidents versus drives in a specific area.
first of all, I didnt cite my degree is a claim for validity; I mentioned it when "howardroark" ( ) told me to "learn some fucking economics." Second, there's something seriously wrong with you if you think that a company producing levels of pollution that might seriously harm you and your family is excusable so long as they pay a "fee" afterwards. Even if your own family isnt at risk, supporting this sort of policy borders on sociopathy.

I have every intention....Next to the Gold's Gym here in Henderson, NV there is a Ron Paul Campaign office. A couple of weeks ago I finished a workout and headed across the street to get a post workout meal and I noticed to the parking lot was max full. I didn't know where it was coming from and when found it and saw what it was about I wasn't to upset. Ron had actually been here giving a speech....Pretty Awesome.
And because I have nothing else to do now but school. I will help where I am needed. My uncle schooled me in the politics game. He's a very smart man. He is also a Ron Paul supporter.
People want to talk about 2012 and paradigm shifts. Ron Paul being elected and becoming the President would certainly be a paradigm shift in itself in that his policies would for the way people think and do business WORLD WIDE and ultimatly we'd all be better off.
this is good to hear i notice you also mentioned that you won't vote if he isn't on the ballot...why not write him in?

I understand why you believe this man and I used to feel the same way. I don't have much going on in my life right now and haven't had much to stand for or be motivated about but I believe this man RON PAUL's ideals which are based the CONSTITUTION is the key for America to be the America that has always been talked about. The America that our great-grandparents and grandparents fought for.
If Ron Paul has constantly stayed on course for 30 years, little by little garnering more support over the years, then there's no reason for me if I truly believe in his message to not stay the course and preach the truth. And I truly believe in everything he's said.
He has warned us for years and many things have come to pass, yet people still choose to be blind, not me. This man's message ignites a fire in me like no other and it's baffling to me that others don't get it.
So though mine and many others votes may "go to waste" our numbers are multplying and it's only a matter of time before the truth wins out, it always does.
if you feel so strongly about this and you aren't otherwise occupied, why don't apply to do some work for his campaign?

It's up to the person making the accusation to prove that. And it is not absurd like you make it out to be. If you can prove that a certain pollutant caused you to fall ill, and if you can prove that a certain factory nearby is emitting that pollutant, then you have
Up to the legal system to decide that. I'm not a jurist. However, every good common law principle focuses on compensation. Obviously, compensation would have to cover more than just medical costs (would also have to cover other opportunity costs).
LOL. Government regulations are somehow efficient? Give me a break. They require expensive compliance by businesses along with untold sums of taxpayer money to keep going. And that's not even going into the public choice problems present with government regulatory agencies.
China has a privatized environment? You really are retarded.
what if there are 2 factories producing the same chemical? imagine that the legal system routinely fails as a deterrent in matters of corporate liability, where regulation could have prevented them--see, for instance, enron and yes, china's environment has defacto existed under private regulation for years, causing the massive current environmental issues which have forced the government to step in in a regulatory capacity. Frankly, the fact that you seem to be under the impression that china is still an economically "communist" country tells me you're not equipped to participate in this discussion at any meaningful level of discourse.

Uhmm, HELLO? Are you really this stupid? The educational system HAS failed in America. I know your mind has been destroyed by years of schooling, but why don't you try to use whatever you have left just this one time? Reread what I wrote.
The problem isn't pollution in the air per se. The "air" pollution ends up harming real property - e.g. people who get sick from breathing in polluted air or land/buildings that get destroyed by pollutants from the air. The proper solution is to have air polluters liable for the damage that their air pollution has on real property.
how do you plan on determining which factory created the specific set of pollutant molecules which have damaged your lungs? How do you plan on determining the monetary value of a medical condition caused by pollutants? How do you plan to enforce this liability, through the drawn out and expensive mechanism of the legal system? if so, how is that remotely more efficient than simply maintaining government-enforced pollution regulations? if you take the time to consider these issues, it becomes clear why privatization of the environment isn't viable in theory, and why it's failed in practice (see, for instance, china) hahaha fuck i just saw your username, why do i even bother

Doesn't change the fact that you're a fucking moron.
Pollutants in the air wouldn't be a problem if they didn't bother anyone, correct? The fundamental property right violation that is present with polluting the air doesn't have to do with the air itself, but what happens when people (who have a definite property right over themselves) breathe in the air.
yeah and the shit economy wouldnt be a problem if it didnt bother anyone either, but it does, as does air polution. what's your point? you still haven't given a plausible explanation for the mechanism by which private property rights would regulate this problem (hint: because there is none). this board really gives Howards a bad name

LOL, learn some fucking economics you dumb piece of shit. The fundamental problem when it comes to the environment is lack of property rights. Common property always gets trashed, that's known as the "tragedy of the commons" among economists. When property rights are properly assigned, then everyone has an incentive to keep their own shit clean.
I have a masters degree in economics now please explain your grand plan to privatize the air, i'll wait

What makes you so sure that its not politically motivated? How do you know she was not making false accusations? Why would she wait until now, not a six months ago, not a year ago but now at the height of the presidental race to make a public statement saying she was harrased? Again, stating my option and im not going to resort to name calling. Thank you for you input you fucking Jagaloon.
I`m not sure that coming forward wasn`t politically motivated, but the accusation itself wasn`t because it occurred years before cain was a political candidate. This is an important distinction because, in terms of judging cain`s character, it doesn`t matter whether or not an accuser comes forward, it matters whether he did it. Let`s say she`s a die hard democrat, does that then make it wrong for her to come forward, or right for him to have sexually harassed her? absolutely not. its possible, of course, that she was lying when she accused him and she`s lying now. it sure isn`t probable, though, given that 1) there are multiple other accusers and 2) the only person involved in this situation who`s demonstrably lied about it is Cain, and repeatedly at that.

Ahhhh you know how many false sexual harassment suites are filed against large companies for sexual harresment? Plenty, I have a friend that is on a retainer and she said its alot cheaper to pay a quick settlement to these people even if they the other party is guilty or not... Its pretty strange how a politcal candidate thats is gaining momentum and is the one that can beat Obama starts having this accusers come out of the wood work.. BTW , dont call people "fucking morons" when they simply stating their opinion you fucking moron... first, whether or not its a false accusation is tangential to this discussion at best. His position is that the accusation is politically motivated because thje accuser ``works for the obama administration.`` This is ridiculous because 1) the accusations were made and settled long before she worked for the obama administration and 2) because she`s also worked for the bush administration during the course of her tenure. second, how is it strange that someone would become concerned enough to speak out when they realize that someone who has perpetrated unethical acts against them in the past is running for the highest public office in the world? third, a pattern of fucking moronic opinions makes you a fucking moron, you fucking moron
