I feel like HIT is superior but yet so few adhere to it long term compared to volume so which is really superior?
I still think HIT should be cycled with periods of sub max effort once a plateau is reached... max effort all the time just doesn't seem to work.
Naturals should periodize and get off weeks quite. You can't put your under stress all the time.If you only train HIT, your joints and nervous system will just give up on you at one point. Too much volume will also wear you down. You also have to adjust your nutrition so it creates a balance problem on the long term. There's no "real" way to go.

The 90s was the most competitive era by far: Taylor, Benaziza, Labrada, Yates of course, Dillett, Levrone, Ray, Nasser, Flex, Ronnie and even guys like Pastel, Clairmonte, Munzer, François, Baker, Cormier, Priest, Fux.

You could have this argument all day but I'd prefer to live in the present and list some of the positives of today's BB --Better balance between upper an lower body -- Like it or not, crazy conditioning -- Thanks to people like Yates and Coleman, more attention is paid to back development. ....sure there are plenty of negatives but that's been done to death on this board. I agree but don't forget, back development started with Haney (some will even say Robinson) and Mentzer already had thighs to match his upper body. But those became standards by now while it was stillrare back then.

Haha I'm not saying he will, just that it would be cool to see him if he did, which he probably won't.
When Ronnie competed in the 2000 Mr Olympia weighing 260 lb, most people (including a few pros) said that he had no more room in his frame to put on more muscle and be heavier. But he was around 40 lb heavier in 2004. Cedric is taller with a wider frame and longer limbs, so he could pull it off over maybe 4 years or so.
He won't necessarily have a gut or look like a mess at the weight, unless he tries to get there too fast - Gunther pulled it off and looked pretty good at a similar weight back in 2002.
I'm assuming he's at least 5'10", if not around 6 feet. How old is he?
To me, as I said before, he's got kind of a Flex structure, good height for a Pro Bber, a pretty large frame but with small joints and light bones. And look what Flex became when he added weight and tried to look bigger (synthol shoulders included). Gunther or Ronnie have naturally better genetics to play the game size, Yates also comes to mind . Don't let the height and natural shoulder width fool you.

Bush doesn't even identify with Conservative ideals, and you can't seem to grasp this. Fiscal responsibility my ass. The man never met a spending bill he didn't like. Less government you say? Hardly with the Patriot act, Ashcroft's Protect act, etc, etc, ad nauseam.

Bigger BBers "naturally " (strange word in the BBing world) tend to have problems getting in proper condition. Dorian and to a lesser extent Ronnie (specially his first two Sandows) were able to achieve great conditioning while keeping a lot of size. Other mass monsters either had to put their health in danger (like Benazizza) to dial it in or just always be a little short of that like Dillett, Fux, Nasser at his heavier weight, etc....

your a joke... Dexters physique is unreal... why do you think they call him the blade.. franco had a killer body aswell Franco looked good on pictures with nobody around. His first Sandow was a gift (courtesy of Arnold) and his second is still the biggest joke in IFFB history, a history which is not joke free BTW.

They used a lot back then but they didn't start as early.most of thiese guys had built a physique and hard work ethic before juicing. If they had had today's drugs, no doubt most of them would have used the same stack as today's Bbers. But because of those restrictions, yesterday's Bbers still give that (somehow flawed) image of health and fitness. Nowadays, it's a freak show, quite entertaining I must say but it's nothing more then being the witness of a lab experiment.
