This is what Platz said in an interview about his diet:
"Really in the 70's we were all on the high-fat, high-protein diet; eating mostly eggs, tuna, and other meats, basically restricting our carbohydrate intake. But let me tell you, I had a lot of success in 1981, when I switched to a high carbohydrate low fat diet. All of a sudden my body came together and I was like oh my God! I looked in the mirror almost scared at how good the results were! I still obviously stuck to a high protein diet but just limited the fat intake. I was in unbelievable condition, and that was probably my best year ever by switching like that. As in eating and nutrition, in workouts, periodic change is the secret. You know a lot of this is done now with some of the gurus of the sport, but back then I was experimenting with it."
He pretty much got into his best shape following a high carb-high protein-low fat diet in 1981.
As far as training: I've read some of his routines, they were all high volume workouts just like everybody else back then.
[/i] I thought he was the first or one of the first HGH users, judging by his jaw/straited glutes/and exceptional leg development? Nothing has changed, todays mags probably still write all this crap about what "diet" pro's are using. A certain diet is not what makes them look the way they do......

That would make this lady maybe around 5'10 which for a lady is very tall , they are both leaning forward , Roelly maybe a little more so but none the less she is clearly much taller than him but nowhere near 5'10 imo. Just because it is written somewhere that he is 5'8 does not make it true , all these guys are liars especialy when it comes to height, weight and measurements etc.He proberly got into BB because of his lack of stature which made him feel inferior. No way is he 5'8 5 ft 10 is normal for a Dutch woman. Many 16 year old girls are 6 ft, amongst boys age sixteen, 6 ft 3 is normal. According to his female trainer, he is 174 centimeters, which is 5 ft 8 and a half.

Tyson at his prime was extremely impressive and capable. But: he also was relatively short and light for a heavy weight. Against today's much taller and heavier champs, he would have had a lot more difficulty fighting his way. Things have changed.
What unfortunately hasn't changed is the fact that in 2010 these heavyweight "champs" still fight very few fights per year. Sometimes once or twice every 12 months. Such a shame. K1 heavyweight champs have to fight THREE fights in one evening to win a Best-of-eight tournament. Heavyweights that fight so rarely are not worth the title of "Champ" imo. They seem to avoid fighting?
(I also think there are several tall and big K1 and MMA athletes that could mean trouble for Klitschko. Alas they will never meet each other in a boxing-rules fight).

Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / 2012 IFBB Contest Info, Competitor Lists and Discussions / Re: 2010 Olympia - Jay Cutler leg workout 2010 Mr. O

Anyone who uses Muscletech products will look like Jay! The only thing I want to know from JC is what he uses. Practically all training and nutrition of all Olympia contestants is identical. The differences imo, are their tolerance and susceptibility to side effects, and what they use, and for how long, and in combination with what other stuff. All the rest is marketing bs and bodybuilding magazine crap articles. Would be interesting I think if for once someone like Jay would be honest and tell what he uses, of has used, and exactly what effects/results he noticed. (If he would say so, he will do such after his professional career. I presume he doesn't want to give too much info to other competitors).

Never heard of this Khan guy before, but please tell me this is his first guest posing show ever? Wolfs posing I find acceptable....the others.....these are professionals?? Do they ever practice their posing? Terrible is putting it mildly.......
The arrogance of Khan....this disrespectful gesture that he makes with his hands......as if he is commanding his dog......"you yell and appreciate me at my command"...he seems to say......
I would rather vomit on him than applaud. Especially for his extremely poor and unmotivated routine.
Ditto for Coleman and Martinez' "performances".

Lou looked better when he competed in the 90's then he ever looked back in the 70's
[/i] Yeah, the growth hormones and his XXL waist, huge glutes, not to mention his calf implants really made him look so much better than in the seventies

Overrated BB because of two major flaws: He's too short, and his head is too big: all in all, totally out of proportion, although in a different way than today's wide waisted mass monsters.
