If you get a chance, check out Fizeek Brazil's clothing - it is incredibly comfortable and the highest quality, not to mention how great the style is.  For those of you that workout as often I do, having clothes that both look cute and are as tough as we are is important.

Check it out!

2  Getbig Womens Area / Figure, Bikini and Fitness Discussions / Pro Fitness at the 08 Kentucky Muscle Show???? on: September 08, 2008, 05:30:21 AM
Hi everyone!

I am very excited about a new possibility for the upcoming IFBB/NPC Kentucky Muscle show ( on Nov 7th & 8th.  I am working with the promoter Brent Jones on the IFBB portion of the show.  Not sure how familiar you are with the KY Muscle, but it is a long running and extremely successful NPC show in Louisville, Kentucky that added Pro IFBB Figure for the first time last year.  The show has a huge amount of NPC athletes, a packed audience and was a large Pro Figure show last year.  Just an outstanding turn out and in my opinion, one of the best run shows around.

As I am sure you have heard, the West Palm Beach show which had both Fitness & Figure was cancelled for this year after the untimely passing of show promoter Jon Organ.  During this year, we have also lost the All Star Pro Fitness show (AR).  With a limited number of IFBB Fitness shows to begin with taking these 2 shows off the roster has been a real blow to Pro Fitness in my opinion.  On the positive side, the shows this year have had excellent participation by the pro fitness athletes.  After much discussion, Brent and I are working hard to have Pro Fitness included with Pro Figure at this years Kentucky Muscle.  It just makes so much sense.  Everything is prepared - the stage, music capabilities, venue...  all we really need in order to add Fitness is sponsor money to cover the sanction fees and prize money.  With the show only 9 weeks away, this is short notice and we will have to act quickly.  If you have any ideas that could further this effort, or know/are a company that would be interested in sponsoring the show for fitness, you can contact myself ( or Brent Jones (

Thanks so much!

A HUGE congrats to Adela - she is an amazing competitior and a class act.  Thanks for all of the support backstage and making the show so much fun.  It was incredible for me to get to compete on the stage with you and Jenny H.  You all made my first Olympia the most incredible experience.  Thanks!

13  Getbig Womens Area / Figure, Bikini and Fitness Discussions / Re: Atlantic City Pro Women's updates / results on: September 17, 2007, 08:17:01 AM
First things first - YES Sandra, WE MISSED YOU!!!!!!!!  It is actually funny you asked because backstage (ok on stage too while warming up routines before night show with our typical 'it's time to have fun' Kimes style dancing) we were saying just that.  For those of you that have never been backstage to see the crazy trail mix eating, dancing and singing fitness competitors hopped up on adrenaline and sugar, I just have to say, you are missing out.  And while we had a great time, it just is not the same without Sandra (actually, Semsch too - we missed her at the last few shows).  By the way, good luck this weekend, we will be watching   Wink

Many have said it and they are sooo right - if this ain't fun, don't do it.  This sport should be about finding your own personal best.  My goal with each show is to come in better than I did the time before and to learn something new about myself.  The process that gets you to the show, as hard and trying as it maybe, is the reason to do it.  Knowing that you can shape your body the way YOU want it to be is the goal.  Overcoming obstacles, being creative and balancing life in the meantime are the challenges that make it worthwhile.  Is it hard – heck yes, but everything worth doing is hard.

Here is how I really feel - after so many months of intense training and dieting the show should be your icing – your time to stand on stage and say – ‘look what I did’.  It is an incredible privilege to get to compete as an IFBB Pro and I thank God that I have been able to make it onto that stage in the first place.  Don't get me wrong, I want to win and work my ass off to do the best I possibly can, but I try to come into every show feeling like I have accomplished a personal win regardless of what the judges say.  Because with all due respect to the judges, I have to live with the body that I create and the name that I make for myself.  Of course, it is nice to do well and a little easier to say after 11 pro shows   Smiley

Katie, it was great to see you, we definitely miss you and I am so glad that you enjoyed my routine.  The crowd participation made it really fun and I walked off stage thrilled with what I had done.  Actually, I still think that round was my best round personally in Atlantic City so I am happy.

Anyhow, the show was a very good experience and I am so excited to see some new women with strong routines competing.  Erin & Holly had incredible routines and I really enjoyed watching them.  Congrats to Tracy on another pro win!  Bethany Gainey looked amazing and I really like her physique.  Congratulations and I look forward to competing with you at the Olympia!

See you all next week!

14  Getbig Womens Area / Figure, Bikini and Fitness Discussions / Re: 2007 ALL STAR CLASSIC updates & results on: August 28, 2007, 06:50:07 PM
I'm surprised the judges knew which moves were mandatory.  I mean, they've had fitness girls not finish routines and still play in the top 8 in the past.

Hi There Fast!  Interestingly, this show really, really felt judged.  We were on stage for a very long time and it was clear they were looking hard.  Even side pose was held for some time.  All of the women walked off stage and both were really sweating and commenting positively about it.  Feels good when you work this hard to have the judges take the extra time.

Thanks so much to everyone for the nice comments.  The All Star was my 10th pro show and my best pro placing yet.  The other competitors could not have been more supportive and we really have a good time!  Congrats to Tanji who consistently brings her best and shows me how to work it.  And Oksana who is very sweet and genuine on top of being gorgeous.   And a serious congrats to Sandra Wickham... you are amazing and I can't wait to see you in Spain (well, photos of you bc for the record, that is the one fitness show I am not doing  Wink
Most of all, thank you to Kim & Chad for another outstanding show.  The really take care of the athletes with everything from a embroidered fitness bags full of goodies, prize money out to 5th place and a stage that is meant for fitness routines.  Not only that, we were finished by 9:00 and actually got to eat before every restaurant in town was closed.  In fact, we never had to sit around and wait for anything.  They had us informed the entire time.  Why more women did not compete is beyond me.  If you missed this one, don't let that happen next year.

See y'all soon!

Hi Sandra!  I am so glad that you will be there too - and I will be happy to give you a wakeup call  Grin  That is too funny.  I had a dream that I got to the show and forgot to tan!!!  Hopefully that does not happen either.  See ya there!

Thanks guys!  I am so excited about the show.  Absolutely amazing to get to stand next to Adela on stage.  Chica you rock!
Lorie, you time is coming, you just keep getting better at each show and I love the Marylin routine!  I'll hold you to the trail mix and would you believe that I have already searched out some sushi places for after the show.  There will be no more not getting decent food after the show!!!

See you soon!

Congrats to everyone - this was a fun, very competitive show.  Awesome to see so many newer pro's competing. It was wonderful to meet Oksana and she is an incredibly beautiful woman.

Oksana's routine was very creative and unique and I really enjoyed watching it but it was much slower than what fitness routines usually are as far as number of skills, strength moves and overall tempo.  Just to clarify, after the show, both Oskana and Myriam Capes were awarded special Best Routine awards.  Here are the details from the Europa Website:

(2)-Best Routines-This award is voted on by the press, photographers and other IFBB
Pro’s and given to who we think as a group has the best routine. (2 awards)

This is a very big honor and shows how much the crowd enjoyed their routines.  Myriam was amazing too and had an incredibly high energy, EXTREMELY difficult (tons of strength and flexibility moves) routine.  She will be one to watch in the future.

Hope to see you all in AR.
