Well, at least he's committed.  A lot of people talk shit.  He actually went out and did it.

It was in poor taste but the guy is a man of action.  Something to be said for that.

They know English in France.  It just amuses them to act like they don't.  It's a "mess with the Yank" thing.

Somehow I ended up with France.

I thought it would be Australia because I'm rowdy, out of my mind, and nobody gives a shit about me.
4  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The Israel-Arab Conflict (Getbigger-Way) on: July 22, 2014, 01:33:43 AM
It's a strange world we live in.  Civilized countries like the USA, Brittain, and Israel have the capability to crush their enemies but they won't.  We play games with them.  We bomb one city only to rebuild it for them.  It's like playing Monopoly with with a 12 year old.  You hold back out of pity to keep the game going and eventually the kid ends up with Park Place and beats you.

Holding back our aggression and military capabilities is done out of some misplaced compassion that our enemies do not posses.  We try to avoid collateral damage and save lives but this only makes the conflicts drag on for decades.  I'd argue that if we smash our enemies right away it will cost more lives now but save millions of lives in the long run.

I agree with all of this.

I'm a little upset that I have to root for Boozer now.  I have disliked him ever since he scammed his way out of Cleveland years ago.

I haven't watched a lot of Boozer but what I have seen and heard I don't like.  At least we aren't paying through the nose for him like Chicago did.   He's not costing us much at all.  We really need Randle and Clarkson to play well.  I hope those two pan out.

As great as Kobe was, he had a great team also!  You think he didn't need 2 - 7fts? allstar Gasol or Bynum or sixth man of the year Odom?  Look at his stats before he got hurt, he was playing at an incredible level, but his team sucked and how far has he gotten?  Who was the best player LeBron/Lecramp/Lewhatever played with?  Mo Williams?  If LBJ had that team I believe he would have won also.  He went to Miami because Pat Riley did what the Cavs wouldn't do, get players!

Bynum didn't play at all in the 2008 or 2009 finals and was injured and barely played in 2010.  Lamar was 6th man of the year in 2011, a year in which the team did not go to the finals.  As good as Odom was, you never knew what you were going to get from him on any given night.  Very streaky and not good in the Triangle offense as Phil Jasckson has said.  Kobe's first three rings were basically him and Shaq and the last two was basically him and Gasol.
7  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Kobe Bryant clutch in softball too on: July 20, 2014, 09:01:04 PM
Apparently Richard Sherman had a celebrity/charity softball game today.  Here's something that I found interesting.

Sherman would captain the "Blue Team" while Wilson managed the "Gray Team" in a game that ended 19-17 in favor of Sherman's squad after six and a half innings. It was Bryant who capped off the Blue Team's comeback victory, driving in Sherman for the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth. Then, with two outs in the top of the seventh, the Gray Team's Thomas lined a drive to center that was fielded by a crouching Sherman for the game's final out.

He also hit a home run in the game.  Will Kobe follow in MJ's steps again and play baseball?  Who knows.

LOL...Romney was right on almost every issue during his debates with Obama. Hhaha

Hard to argue that this isn't the truth even for the biggest liberals.

I wish they would replay those debates on tv now.  It would be funny to see with the current context.
9  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Sports Discussion Boards / Re: 2013/14 NBA Thread on: July 19, 2014, 09:32:11 PM
Overall, I agree.  I think the challenge in building through the draft is that a successful team will always be drafting at the bottom of the first round.  That doesn't mean they cannot draft good players, but it does make it harder to find that superstar talent.  Have to get lucky.  What they shouldn't be doing is repeatedly giving away their first round picks.

I'm not sure who Kobe's replacement will be.  Might be in for another long stretch of mediocrity.

One thing they absolutely need to do is remove Jim Buss from making basketball personnel and coaching decisions.

I feel like they did a good job with last years roster.  Guys like Swaggy P, Xavier Henry and Wesley Johnson can all play.  Marshon Brooks wasn't bad.  Young talent.  The injury bug bit them and they had, in my opinion, a bad coach.  He was constantly tinkering with the depth chart even with the guys that weren't hurt.  Nobody knew their role so they all just played for themselves.  Lets let some of them play together  for a while under a competent coach that will have them play a little defense and see how they develop.

So far our roster is very small for this coming year.  Our Center is 6/10 and power forwards are 6'9.  We need a 7 footer that can defend.  I would have thrown some money at Tyson Chandler but they couldn't because they were praying Carmelo would come to LA.  Most rational people knew that was a pipe dream.

14  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Dana White: Ronda Rousey can beat Floyd Mayweather Jr in a street fight on: July 17, 2014, 12:20:20 AM
Justino and Howdy?

That fight will happen. I think the whole stalling thing was to give Honda enough time to improve her striking before facing Cristine. Justino apparently plans to cut down to 135 by the end of the year so we'll see how that works out. Dana's now more amenable to bringing her into the UFC.  That's a fight people want to see in the hopes that Justino will end Ronda's streak.

No.  I'm referring to Floyd Gayweather and and Rhonda.
15  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Dana White: Ronda Rousey can beat Floyd Mayweather Jr in a street fight on: July 16, 2014, 08:45:45 PM
Of the two of them, which one is the one that wouldn't take the fight?  Think about it.
16  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: No gym bags allowed in the gym ?? on: July 16, 2014, 08:44:19 PM
I don't lug them around in the gym but I don't see why they would be banned.  After all, they are called fucking "gym bags".  If you can't use a gym bag at the gym, where the fuck can you use them?  Fascists everywhere in this country now.  They get off on rules and regulations.
17  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Sports Discussion Boards / Re: 2013/14 NBA Thread on: July 16, 2014, 02:39:52 AM
It's an expiring contract.  Trying to free up cap space in 2015 so they can have every major free agent turn them down again.

They seem pretty fixated on landing a big free agent.  In my opinion that is the wrong way to go.  They need to start drafting the right people and stop bringing bums in on the cheap and then letting them walk right away.  Even if you have a roster of bums, let them play together for a few years so they have a chance to grow together as a team.  One year, bargain basement mercenaries are killing us.  Clearing all this cap space, for who exactly?

20  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Have the Lakers completely lost their allure? on: July 14, 2014, 09:17:40 PM
Jeezus are people over reacting to the Lakers.  They are in a rebuilding mode.  It happened after Magic retired, it happened after Shaq left and it's happening again now that Kobe is aging and injured.  It happens.  People need to calm the fuck down.  Today's superstars do not want to join a team mid-rebuild.  They want to go to a team that is ready to win now, preferably in the East where there is little to no competition.  This is why big name free agents aren't coming to LA right now.

One problem in my eyes is that the Lakers are trying to rebuild with free agents.  I think they need to shift gears and start drafting young talent.  That's how they got to the Finals in 2008, 2009 and 2010.  They had KB and Odom, they drafted well and developed young guys like Bynum, Farmar, Sasha, Walton, etc.  They were shit for a few years and in 2008 the young guys stepped up and we were in first place.  That's when you add a free agent like Gasol, when you are on the verge and need a player to put you over the top.

Trying to rebuild by signing free agents like Melo and Love is not going to get it done. First because they don't want to come to a team with a gutted roster and no head coach.  Secondly, even if you did sign one of those guys you still aren't ready to contend because you have very little talent at other posiions.  Also, the entire world knew that Lebron wasn't coming to LA so why waste time hoping he'll change his mind.

Total non-story....just the Left trying to fan tensions and scrambling to somehow blame everything on 'right wing extremists'  Roll Eyes

Bingo.

There is always going to be some nuts out there doing crazy shit.  That doesn't change the fact that cops are out of of control these days looking for any excuse to taze you, tackle you and beat you down for "resisting".  Their reaction to this is to try and keep you from being able to record the beatings.  This whole thing is just another symptom of our country sliding down the shitter.

24  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Steve Nash Will Save The LA Lakers on: July 13, 2014, 02:40:07 AM
nobody wants to play with kobe.  He's a dick.  he belittles teammates in front of the camera, and will snitch on their marital infidelity.  And he can't play well anymore.

When Kobe does retire, players will come to LA

That's all total bullshit.  The team is rebuilding after yet another run of titles.  They have no coach, a crap roster, and new untested ownership.  That is why free agents aren't in a hurry to come to LA.

Dwight Howard didn't want to play with Kobe but that was because Dwight is a pussy who wants to clown around instead of focus on his job.  This bullshit about "nobody want's to play with Kobe" is just the most recent in a long line of bogus, weak, phony criticisms that fans of other players like MJ or Lebron use to belittle Kobe and not give him the respect he's due.  It's a strawman argument and anyone who falls for this ruse is a fucking idiot.

Some thoughts on Lakers off season.

*Hate seeing Pau go but it's the best thing for him and for the Lakers.

*Glad to see we didn't overpay for that fat worthless POS Carmelo.

*Jeremy Lin, WTF?  Expiring contract and will be gone next year.

*Kobe = Hoping for the best, prepared for the worst.

*Jordan Hill is a quality player, glad we resigned him.  His hustle is going to be needed.

*Swaggy P will be able to score a few points for us like last year.  Nothing spectacular.

*Steve Nash is done.  As much as I love him he's dead weight.  I hope he proves me wrong.

*Julius Randle = unknown what he'll be able to give us.

*I hope they don't sign Boozer although they will probably try.

*2014-15 season = 1 more year of sucking ass and losing a lot of games.
