Moses could definitely have had very dark skin.  All good if he did.

These types of discussions tend to have much more of an eisegetical foundation than an exegetical foundation.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27
24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. 25 Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; 27 but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

mos:

sometimes in the ufc theres very religious fighters who are about to fight eachother.  both seem to think that God should let them win.

1. why do these fighters think that God would pick one and not the other?
2. why do they out their victory in the hands of God and not themselves? dont they believe in their own ability?

As believers they should seek God's will and not their own.  My opinion, I think they should trust in the abilities God has blessed them with and regardless of outcome simply represent Christ in all they do.  Doesn't mean you don't shoot for the win, but exhibit the gracious qualities of Christ regardless.

Me personally I don't pray about sporting events unless the event itself is specifically designed to bring glory to God.  But, how often does that happen LOL?

does the bible say anything about bodybuilding?

it would kinda suck if you just hasnt got around to that part yet and it says you cant lift weights

Philippians 4:13
13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Hebrews 12:11-12
11 No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.  12 So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees.

1 Corinthians 9:27
27 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

1 Timothy 4:8
8 Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.

It had nothing to do with race and everything to do with ethnicity. It was because she wasnt an Israelite. Were supposed to marry Israelites because of cultural practices and religion.

If you keep reading that story youll see that God got pissed and turned Moses sister white via biblical leprosy for talking shit.

FYI. Moses is called St. Moses the  Black.

Moses of the bible is BC
Saint Moses the Black (aka Saint Moses the Ethiopian) is AD

Both real figures, different time periods.

Now should I point out every other Bible  verse that proves the Isralites were black? Ive done it at least a dozen times and I never tire of it. People are going to have to just accept it. Yes, those people everyone loves to hate are the chosen people. People will have alot to think about and repent. Or they can just burn in hell forever.

Here are the most commonly cited....I made sure and only cite from the KJV.....I have these filed away from my general research......I'm being a helper  Grin:

Lamentations 5:10
King James Version (KJV)

10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.

Revelation 1:15
King James Version (KJV)

15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

Jeremiah 14:2
King James Version (KJV)

2 Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.

Acts 13:1
King James Version (KJV)

13 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called N'i'g'e'r, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

Deuteronomy 28:47-51
King James Version (KJV)

47 Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
49 The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
50 A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:
51 And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.

Deuteronomy 28:63-68
King James Version (KJV)

63 And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
64 And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
65 And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
67 In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
68 And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
11  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Religious Debates & Threads / A Christian genocide symbolized by one letter on: Today at 07:30:56 AM
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/383493/christian-genocide-symbolized-one-letter-christine-sisto

There is a mass exodus of Christians from the Iraqi city of Mosul, the second largest city in Iraq. The Muslim fanatics who have taken over the city, calling themselves the Islamic State, issued an ultimatum to the city’s Christians earlier this month, saying that if they did not leave by Saturday, July 19, they “must convert to Islam, pay a fine, or face ‘death by the sword.’” As of Tuesday, most of the city’s estimated 3,000 Christians had fled.

Further, the Islamic State, formerly known as ISIS, had marked homes and businesses owned by Christians with a red, painted ن (pronounced “noon”), the 14th letter of the Arabic alphabet and the equivalent to the Roman letter N. The ن stands for Nasara or Nazarenes, a pejorative Arabic word for Christians.

The ن is now being shared on social media as a symbol of solidarity with the Iraqi Christians forced to flee their homes. The Catholic blog Rorate Caeli has wrote, the Islamists “mean it as a mark of shame, we must then wear it as a mark of hope. . . . You may kill our brethren and expel them but we Christians will never go away.”

The hashtag #WeAreN is also trending, along with pictures of people of all religions drawing the ن in red ink on their bodies.

When asked why he changed his profile picture to the ن, political consultant Ryan Girdusky said, “I changed it because of the lack of response by our media and our president . . . We feel like the Christian community is being persecuted at the same time the Palestinians are being given constant attention. There is a Christian genocide and no one is paying attention.”

The mass exodus has incited international criticism, even from Muslim scholars. Al Jazeera quoted Iyad Ameen Madani, the secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as saying, “This forced displacement is a crime that cannot be tolerated.” Yesterday, the United Nations’ secretary general, Ban Ki Moon, said that the treatment of Iraqi Christians “may constitute a crime against humanity.” He also “condemned” ISIS’s actions “in the strongest terms.”

Mosul has played a role in Christian history since the first and second centuries, when the Assyrians in the city converted to Christianity. It is the home to many churches, as well as mosques and synagogues. Al Jazeera described, via an Assyrian Christian who chose to stay behind, how a statue of the Virgin Mary outside of one of Mosul’s churches was destroyed and replaced with a black flag. This Christian is one of the last left in Mosul, as most others have fled, many leaving with only the clothes on their backs.

U.S. doctor treating patients in Liberia tests positive for Ebola

A Texas physician treating Ebola patients in Liberia has tested positive for the deadly virus, the Christian charity for which he works reported Saturday.

The incident has heightened fears of a spread of Ebola in some of Africa's most densely populated cities after a Liberian man died last week in Lagos, Nigeria -- Africa's largest city with 21 million residents. Nigerian health officials fear the man might have brought the virus on a flight from Monrovia.

News of an Ebola death last week in Lagos, Nigeria, Africa's biggest city, has spurred fears of a spread of the deadly virus through air travel.

The Ebola outbreak is devastating West Africa and will spread to more countries unless more aid is provided, an official with the group Doctors Without Borders said Friday.

The disease has killed 672 in four West African countries so far this year.

Kent Brantly, a 33-year-old doctor with a private practice in Fort Worth, had been serving as medical director for the Samaritan’s Purse Ebola Consolidated Case Management Center in Monrovia, the Liberian capital, the aid agency said.

Brantly was undergoing treatment at a Samaritan’s Purse isolation center at the Eternal Love Winning Africa Hospital after testing positive for Ebola, the group said in a statement on its website.

"Samaritan’s Purse is continuing medical operations at our Ebola Case Management Centers in cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control, the World Health Organization, the Liberia Ministry of Health, and other global health authorities," the agency said.

Samaritan's Purse said Brantly is married with two children and urged its membership to "pray for him and his family."

19  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Religious Debates & Threads / Re: Do you fall in and out of faith just as you do in love? on: July 25, 2014, 12:59:51 PM
As a Christian I know there are circumstances that shake a believer's faith and circumstances that cause folks to question their faith.   Nothing wrong with either situation.

Although, from a perspective of salvation and faith a believer in Christ has become regenerate.  They are sanctified for the purposes of God's will....they surrender to it and seek it.  Within Christianity we have many believers, but unfortunately a large number are also false conversions or merely nominal Christians.  They claim Christianity but their words and actions do not reflect the change brought forth by the Holy Spirit in their lives.   These folks have the tendency to waffle between churches, denominations, theologies and even entire religions.  These are the folks that typically say they're "very spiritual, but don't agree with God".   Other folks cobble together aspects of varying faith systems they find appealing.

In the end the true believer in Christ surrenders fully to his will for their lives.  Certainly there are those true believers that have experienced extremely trying circumstances that have renounced their faith.  I can't speak to their circumstances nor would be so arrogant as to presume I understand.  Although, this is a small portion of the majority and I've seen many that have returned to faith in Christ.

In short, yes people do fall in and out love and they do "fall" in and out of religions, but genuine followers in Christ don't waffle....they desire Christ because he's revealed himself to them and they desire no other system of religious belief because of it.

For what it's worth.

24  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Religious Debates & Threads / Re: Google takes step against internet pornography on: July 24, 2014, 07:35:39 AM
I'm simply pointing out that saying "my position on this topic is based on God" says nothing of substance but, in fact, stands for "my position on this topic is not supported by objective evidence."

It does challenge the existence of the Christian God, but only as an aside.

Well, I never attempted to convince you of anything.  You objected to the article and want me (and anyone else that may side with the opinions expressed in the article) to provide you with facts, figures, measurements, observations, repeatable tests, etc....objective evidence.....to validate the position that pornography is bad.

Me, I just need to hear the testimonies of former pornographers and current/former pornography addicts to convince me that pornography is harmful.  I don't need statistics and bar charts in relation to their testimonies compiled and expressed on spreadsheets.  I don't need repeatable demonstrations conducted in controlled environments by statisticians, sociologists, psychologists and scientists to convince me that the lives of these folks have been negatively impacted.  What would those tests and test environments consist of?

Now, I can't say this with certainty, but it appears to me that you wouldn't trust the testimonies of victims of pornography because they aren't substantiated by evidence.  This industry is fraught with rape, child abuse, female abuse, criminal activity, physical abuse, mental abuse, drug abuse, addiction, disease and death.  I don't understand why people would want to be party to or support an industry that engages in these types of things.  In terms of evidence, would you need to observe and analyze these situations personally?  Does an unbiased third party need to conduct the research, data collection and analysis?  What would that analysis consist of?  How could you be certain the third party is unbiased?

The majority of analytics and statistics compiled would most likely originate from the raw testimonies of the individuals that lived out the experiences.   One victim comes forward and then another and another.....that seems like a solid observable demonstration or trend and a repeatable test of the validity of the claim....live and unadultered completed in the rawest, truest environment possible.  Is it scientifically controlled?  No it is not.  You won't like this, but the requirement of specific objective evidence needed to convince folks often comes across as posturing, finger-waving, excuses and good ole fashioned denial.

What objective evidence do you demand (or prefer)?  Further, what subjective constraints will initially be required of the objective evidence to classify it as quality evidence?
