I see your points, but that's a Hatfield bar, and they don't flex under heavier loads the way a "normal" bar does.
Also, the biomechanics of the movement are slightly, but noticeably different when using that bar. I was always able to use a lot more weight with it than a straight bar; and I was never a serious leg guy.
Still a very impressive lift.
I'm still calling BS. I went back and watched the video. They show 695, and he says 695, and then they show a different frame. I don't think he's got 695 on the bar when he's lifting. I can't tell, but it looks like 5-6 plates that he's actually lifting. Watch RG3's lift again, he goes down, grunts, and then throws it up so fast, it bounces at the top. For frame of reference, here's IFBB pro Tim Martin doing 700 x 1 on the hatfield, and he's having much more trouble than RG3.  |

No way in hell that was 695. I'm not taking anything away from RG3, he's 10 times the athlete I could ever dream of being. However, that bar stayed stiff the entire time, and he pushed it up like nothing. If he's really doing 695 with that much ease, his true 1 rep max is probably close to 800. Horse shit!!!!!

Senor Falconey, do the trees give us air, or do we take it? Maybe they don't want us to have the air, but cannot stop us from taking it. Furthermore, they take our carbon dioxide. Or do we give it to them? Maybe we have an unspoken symbiotic relationship with the trees that is kept on the down low? What do you think? As for the sun, all it does is work it's ass off 24/7, and all we do is take from it. It saddens me to think that we give the sun nothing in return. We just take take take from it, and never give it thanks. Jannay Falcones, how do you give thanks to the sun for all of it's hard work? After all, it gives you everything (life), and never asks for anything in return.  |

Does anyone know if, in fact, African Americans are generally poor tippers? It would seem to me some waitstaff might discriminate against anyone who was a poor tipper, such as young folks often are. Unfortunately, it is just human nature for us to form opinions based on experience which causes us to generalize. So if a lot of folks in a particular group tip poorly, most all folks fitting that description might be discriminated against.
My wife and I tip well, especially when the service is good. More often than not, we get really great service when we eat out. We are senior citizens. I don't know if senior citizens have a good or bad reputation when it comes to tipping. What I do know is that our showing appreciation for good service has resulted in us almost always getting it everywhere we go.
In contrast, when the service is very poor, we do not hesitate to complain about it. However, this seldom happens and we eat out frequently.
As I said earlier, I used to wait tables with a black waiter. He said he didn't tip when he went out. In his words, it was: "Mo money for me. Mo drink money, and mo party money." |

Everything in that article is true except for this line: "The study, published in the Journal of Black Studies, found that 40 percent of waiters admit they discriminate against black customers because of a perception they don't tip as much as white patrons, according to the Daily Mail."
It's not a perception, it's a fact. Blacks are the worst tippers out of all races. I waited and bartended for about 5 years, and blacks were by far the worst tippers. I would give them the best service possible, so there would be no excuse for a shitty tip, and they would still tip shitty. There was a black guy that waited tables with me, and I told him he needed to talk to his people and get them to start fucking tipping. He said, "Shit, I don't tip either when I go out to eat!" I said, "What the fuck do you mean, you wait tables and you don't tip other waiters?" He said, "Yep, that's just mo party money, and mo drink money for me." His name was Rob, and he was a sorry mother fucker.
Bottom line is, it doesn't matter how stellar your service is towards blacks, 95% of them are terrible tippers.

I for one hope he does not receive any kind of transplants. I do not wish death on anyone, but why should he get body parts when there are much more deserving people out there? He made his bed, now he has to lay in it. Furthermore, who's going to pay for all his surgical bills. Oh, that's right, you and me. I say fuck him. This is just natural selection in a different form.  |
