Jack, I have no idea how they are documenting the house searches in Boston. As a matter of course, when *we* do practically anything, it is documented and the why is articulated. Before we conduct a search of a house for example, we will either have a search warrant, or we will have the person with authority of the house give verbal consent on Audio/Video followed up by a consent form they would sign. In the event a search is conducted for exigent cirumstances without any warrant or consent, the why is explained in an offense report. The occupants if present, are informed as to the why.

It would be likely, since there are processes that can be put into place for things such as riots, (mass arrests) and natural disasters when *normal* protocol doesn't work. I can see them creating one offense number and all the search info on that event went under one report. The reason for the search would be the same for each.
