1  Getbig Main Boards / General Topics / Re: I have taken my last drink. This is my road to sobriety. on: April 06, 2014, 06:59:53 AM
If you aren't currently drinking a 5th of vodka a day, quitting cold turkey isn't going to kill you. Not even close. you may get some night sweats the 1st week, but that's nothing. if you are ready to quit, just quit. You don't need meetings, a hobby, get big, or Ellen & Oprah. You just need to be honest with yourself. It's only a liquid. Just look at it that way. It's a liquid. You are a grown man, no liquid will ever rule your life again. People will say it's not that easy, but it is. Just tell the liquid to fuck off.

You can do it. You just have to want to. When you get the urge to drink, just look in the mirror & say no. Fuck that liquid...

Do it.

3  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Eddie Bravo vs Royler Gracie *the rematch* on: April 02, 2014, 02:46:48 PM
When was the last time a Gracie tapped?

Kazushi Sakuraba .vs. Royce Gracie. PRIDE
After a 90 minute battle of punishing leg kicks, Royce's brother threw in the towel. Gracie could no longer stand and suffered a broken femur from accumulated damage. Sakuraba would go on to defeat other members of the Gracie family including Renzo Gracie and Ryan Gracie earning him the nickname "Gracie Hunter."

From dictionary.com
Throw in the towel definition. To quit in defeat. The phrase comes from boxing, in which a fighter indicates surrender by throwing a towel into the ring.

Gracie returned to PRIDE in 2002 to fight Japanese gold-medalist judoka Hidehiko Yoshida in a Judo vs. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu limited rules MMA match. Gracie lost that match when the referee stopped the match after Yoshida had sunk in a deep gi-choke. Almost immediately, he contested the loss stating that he was fully conscious when the match was stopped. Later backstage, the Gracies demanded it be turned into a no contest, and an immediate rematch be booked (with different rules for the next time). If not, the Gracie family would pull themselves from PRIDE FC, and never fight for them again. PRIDE, wanting to keep the Gracie family with them, accepted their demands.
4  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Arnold Schwarzenegger's movie worst opening ever on: April 01, 2014, 06:01:51 PM
it depends how much the distributors paid the studios isn't it?
I always thought the stuidos sold the movie to US and international distributors and the distributors had to market the movie and the rest of that.
I think sly and Arnold never lose, they still get paid.
EXpendables 3 will make a killing.

Studios typically take in about 40% of the revenue from overseas releases. For major US studios a movie breaks even if it makes twice its production budget worldwide.
5  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Arnold Schwarzenegger's movie worst opening ever on: April 01, 2014, 05:30:57 PM
"The big money for Arnold is made back on DVD sales overseas," says casting director Bonnie Gillespie, author of "Self-Management for Actors." "He's untouchable."

Although underperforming at the U.S. box office - debuting at number four on the box office chart with $9,885,732 from 2,883 theaters and ultimately grossing only $25,132,228 domestically, Escape Plan was an international box-office success - debuting at first place in several Asian and European markets, with the total international gross more than doubling its $50 million budget at $112,192,336, totaling up to a worldwide gross of $137,324,564.

He still makes the movie studios money. Movie studios like making money

That was a great episode. Glad you didn't sell it.

Now take it on Pawn Stars. Rick will give you $800 for it. It's gonna be hard for them to sell & will sit in the store for awhile...

WHAT IS THE ULMER SCALE?
The Ulmer Scale is the film industry's premier series of powerbases for tracking, measuring and ranking the star power of more than 1,400 actors worldwide. Polling dozens of leading deal-makers from Hollywood and key international territories, the Scale uses a 100-point ranking system to measure bankability, the key component of star power. Bankability is the degree to which an actor's name alone can raise 100% or majority financing up-front for a film. Often it is the most critical factor in determining whether an actor is hired for a project. The Ulmer Scale tracks it exclusively for all three film budget levels: art house, mid-range and studio-level features.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's ranking: 98

Which means that film financiers stand a 98 percent chance of recouping their investment in worldwide upfront sales before a single frame of a movie is even shot.
8  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: I am back! Dialysis cant keep me down! on: March 30, 2014, 02:13:35 PM

Haider, please provide a reason as to why we should respect the dead. Just saying we should respect the dead does not mean we should.

From a strictly utilitarian point of view, one should respect the dead because it serves as an example to the living that what one does in life (whether positively or negatively) matters even after one dies. It's kind of like an atheist's version of paradise and hell, you get remembered in a good or bad light by your descendants for all "eternity"

From an emotional point of view, people tend to respect the dead because any death is seen as a tragic event (despite its inevitability) and because they are reminded of their own mortality which makes them think about how they themselves would want to be "treated" once they're gone.

10  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Pot smokers... what is the advantage of a vaporizer over just smoking? on: March 29, 2014, 03:18:02 PM
Vaporizers heat the weed at a lower temp than when you use a flame. The vapor produced still has all of the active ingredients (THC, cannabinoids) but doesn't have the by-produts that are harmful to you. Vaporizing removes almost all of the smoke that is normally inhaled. Get yourself a vaporizer & get down.

The Volcano brand vape is the top of the line device out there. It's the Delorean of dope smoking

13  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: David Blaine "real" magician? on: March 27, 2014, 08:00:27 PM
Magicians have used suggestion, mild hypnotism almost, to what they call "impress" the card they want a person too choose for many years. Who knows how many cards were missing from the deck? There could have been !0 cards missing. All he has to do is choose one of those. Blaine asks him to pick a piece of fruit, then he asks what the card was. Blaine has a deck of cards in his pocket that are marked. When Ford names the card, Blaine riffs throughout the deck & grabs the card he needs. Watch the weird way he hold he holds the knife, & then makes sure Ford is holding on to the Orange when he cuts it. Magicians are masters of sleight at hand. He makes the cut in the orange & inserts the folded card & then gives the Orange to Ford.

I'm stoned.

17  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Bodybuilder Awkward at Pool Party on: March 25, 2014, 04:51:53 PM
I think you're confusing galeniko (who I get along with well) with Groink. And if I'm not mistaken, that happened in this very thread. He came at me, and I took up the gauntlet. Nothing I haven't done a few hundred times on the Internet since I started using it. To his credit, he took it pretty well.

Wes I have no issues with.

And you telling me to calm down when you've obviously invested some serious effort in trying to get under my skin by posting my own posts back to me suggests you're projecting your own frustrations onto me. I said earlier, this isn't the right way to channel your personal resentments, even if it gives you a momentary release valve to vent.

Protip, when people call other people out, they usually don't do it anonymously or by going around their back and digging dirt on them. Generally, it's done in a thread intended for the purpose, and they hash it out. You're acting like a lover scorned with someone who doesn't even know you exist or...care.

You are right, I got the 2 confused. They are both solid poster's for sure. You brought up a guys legal problems, nothing lower than that.

I simply posted 5 messages all made in 5 days, all on the same subject & all contradicting each other. I simply wanted to confirm that you are pretty much full of shit.
18  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Bodybuilder Awkward at Pool Party on: March 25, 2014, 04:43:42 PM
Let's review. You have a low post count, and a cursory glance at your most recent ones suggests they're all in some way intended to flame or harass the person you're talking to. That's pretty much the definition of a troll, dude. I won't pretend everything I write is proactive or constructive, but a lot of it has nothing to do with arguing or insulting people. Yours are basically almost uniquely undiluted personal attacks in a bottle. I think you fit the bill much more closely, and your behavior in this thread seems to support that thesis.

You just seemed to be on a real tear last night & today, posting some pretty hash stuff. I just wanted to call you out, & I did. Your post's in the last 15 minutes have already returned to a bit more normal. Obviously you are an intelligent guy, but you were all over Galieneko last night & then bragging that you trolled him. He & Wes are my favorite posters. So calm down some, cupcake.

Don't fuck with the Wong's
19  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Bodybuilder Awkward at Pool Party on: March 25, 2014, 04:32:33 PM
Well, posting is one thing. Popping in just to parse through one guy's posts and then quoting them in a prearranged sequence to try to point out continuity or honesty issues in their posting history from a month earlier is definitely not normal behavior. I mean, literally no one else on here does that. Josh has had his history on here, but at least he posts his pictures and doesn't hide his identity. You're basically waging a private war with some guy you don't know on a muscle site. There's something very off about that.

Holy shit man, there has been something very off about every post you've made in the last 24 hours. I simply found a few quotes to show you just to show you are here to talk a bit of shit. Now that we have established that you are what your generation calls an "internet troll" myself & the other members can shrug off your post's as bullshit.

People have been pulling up people's post history on this site for a long time man. Longer than you've been fasting...
20  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Bodybuilder Awkward at Pool Party on: March 25, 2014, 04:20:29 PM
That's what I told you. Most of my posts are full of shit. So why are you taking them so personally?

You sound unhappy, man. This isn't the right way to channel your personal problems. I mean, you're free to come and go as you please, but trying to kick other people off the site by stalking their posting history is...weird. So is lurking. Try posting normally for a change, just to see how it works out for you.

Who is trying to kick you off the site?

Do you ever listen to talk radio? So do millions of other people, but how many actually call in?
This site is an amazing source of knowledge, & the gossip & opinions section is my favorite site of the internet. I'll post when I want to, nothing weird about that.
21  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Bodybuilder Awkward at Pool Party on: March 25, 2014, 04:14:29 PM
I hadn't posted in a few weeks, actually. But I enjoy this site, so I came back to post some more. I'm sorry this causes you psychological discomfort and you have to go digging in my posting history looking for dirt. I hate to let you down in that department.  Embarrassed

But hey man, if you just learn to be more tolerant and less sensitive, you might actually learn to join the community rather than constantly stand outside of it and beg for attention.

It took me all of about 3 minutes to find & quote those post's kid. They were all made in a 5 day period, So they were all on 1 page. I just did it to prove you are full of shit.

I'm going to go back to lurking, & possibly eat some carbs
22  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Bodybuilder Awkward at Pool Party on: March 25, 2014, 04:01:06 PM
Actually, there is one thing that's more predictable. You believing everything I write on this site and trying to troll me with it from a gimmick account. That's the oldest trick in the book when you're butthurt on the Internet. Wink

I don't want to upset you, you're probably tired from all of the fasting. But this is my only account. I've been a member longer than you. I simply don't have the time to make 25 post's a day.
23  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Bodybuilder Awkward at Pool Party on: March 25, 2014, 03:45:53 PM
@stan

I see you went digging in my posting history in a feverish attempt to catch me in a discrepancy. I guess you succeeded. I did stop dieting in the week after I said I was on one. You got me pinned!

totally normal and non-psychotic behavior on your end, btw

Nothing is more unpredictable than a 29 year old Canadian racist who hasn't eaten for a week, but still believes in the power of carbs...
24  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Bodybuilder Awkward at Pool Party on: March 25, 2014, 03:40:34 PM
I did one week with no food at all just last month.
The only side effects were headaches, insomnia, and perpetual hunger, and cardiac palpitations
no big deal really
and I lost 12lbs of water Smiley

I literally didn't close an eye for 6 days straight last week when I tried going Keto again. Granted, I did it hardcore with less than 1200kcal/day (wasn't hungry) and like 5 carbs, but shit man. I did not fucking sleep. I was a zombie. And I ended up taking beta-blockers from an old guy down the street because my heart wouldn't drop below 100/min. Did lose 9lbs of water in a week though.

For the average gym guy?
yeah
any fasting is illogical when compared to the benefits of carb cycling and upping the cardio/supersets to switch back to fat-burning instead of glucose-burning

That's why I no longer do low carb. You're putting off paying your bill.

Eventually, when it comes in (and it always does), you'll have to pay it back with interest. It's always a heavy carb invoice you get slapped with.

I made my peace with carbs not long ago. Just this month, actually.

Not much, but then again I eat about 30 carbs a week.

Watered-down keto diet for pussies.

Either go extreme low carb or use them like everyone else and work harder in the gym.
