Sadly,I guess you had to be a true diehard Marvelite or a real old man to get the Yancy St. referance.   Sad

Happily, I am both my friend.

Be well.

How tall he is?

The interwebs say, 5' 10".  Not a manlet by any means.

Please add Cavalier and Escort to your list of fine American automobiles.

Easy there.  Allow me.  Any 70s era Fiat.     Grin  America makes some excellent cars and so does Europe.

Found them on iTunes but would rather have either a CD.

Listening to these guys has also made me want to find a copy of "The Commitments" on Blu Ray.

Thanks again for the videos, great music!   Grin

Make sure you know who you're dealing with.... this guy used to drink three gallons of milk a day!!!  Clearly a bulky athlete who is NOT to be taken lightly

12  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The top three books on lifting on: April 20, 2014, 12:55:28 PM
From this post I deduce you are middle aged, immensely fat, likely spend far too much time on ironage or some other rest home "olde time lifting" forum bragging about your grip strength .... and probably have never squatted more than 405 in your entire life.

Nope.  I am much older than that but as these are the interwebs where anyone can be Neo, I suppose I could be what you guys refer to as an "HAB" or in terms that this site will allow a large blond haired, blue eyed caucasion male that would undoubtedly make your mother swoon and your grandmother rise from the grave for a chance at one sweet kiss.   Grin

From your response I gather you're none too sharp.  No worries.  It's all in fun.   But J.C. Hise was the Man.

Take care!

13  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Religious Debates & Threads / Re: Evangelical Christians and Jews on: April 20, 2014, 09:20:10 AM
My mom grew up in a predominately Jewish neighborhood and became a Catholic at a very young age.  I am something of what we call a "Cashew".  I admire the Israelis a great deal.  As to who killed the Christ, the Romans put Him to death but it had to be done.

I often get into arguments with fellow believers over this sort of thing.  Judas had no real choice in the matter, did he?  Nope.  How could a loving God condemn Judas to Hell for eternity for being a cog in the wheel of God's plan for redemption?   Doubtless Judas had tremendous remorse and was so grief stricken that he hung himself.  But if you think about it, given the circumstances and the man he betrayed, who wouldn't feel so crappy as to seriously consider hanging themselves?  That's a big burden to be placed on anyone's shoulders.  Not quite as big as the cross but certainly too much for a mere man to carry the rest of his life.

I tend not to worry too much about such things nor do I hold accountable people who were not responsible for and to be honest not even alive/around when these things occurred.  That is something morons are famous for.  Hated filled, greedy men will hold any and everyone responsible for crimes and atrocities that were committed years or even generations ago but only when there is something to be gained by doing  so, e.g. political power, a land grab, redistribution of wealth, etc.

Like Mohammed or any number of Popes and others of their ilk, they will do this only today it's not performed in the name of "God" (because they despise any "God" save themselves) but rather they use terms like "fairness"  or "restitution".

14  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The top three books on lifting on: April 20, 2014, 06:46:05 AM
er, yeah, no.

Following the books advice and rest-pausing your true 10 RM for 20 reps three times a week is the most retarded , dangerous thing you can do in the gym - except maybe 20 rep deadlifts.

following it with ham sandwiches and gallons of milk is even worse.

Idiotic nonsense about 'gutsy old school training' to hide the fact that the 'golden age' BBers were swallowing dbol by the handfull

Actually a little research would have saved you the embarrassment of the above post.  This routine was pioneered by the great J.C. Hise back in the '30s.  It works.  So do high rep deadlifts.   I don't recall anything about "ham sandwiches" but yes, milk was a part of this program.
15  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Jesus Christ is Risen! on: April 19, 2014, 08:55:15 PM
BTW, the title of your thread in PROPER English should be "Jesus HAS risen", not IS risen.

By the way, it is a manner of speech from long before your birth.  And yes, it is proper still if spoken in context.  Normally I follow this statement up with, but you knew that but in your case, I seriously doubt it.
Aren't you clever.

What is the term used here, "Generation Nothing"?  Goodnight kid.
16  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Jesus Christ is Risen! on: April 19, 2014, 08:48:18 PM

Jesus is a charlatan. And all of his so called miracles are trickery. Claiming to turn water into wine, heal the blind, etc. I do not respect people who engage in such trickery. Similar to how psychics take advantage of vulnerable people. One can almost say that Jesus was a narcissist. I do not respect people who engage in this sort of behavior.

Nope, I do not belittle Buddha or Jains.

And that's the name of that tune.   For each of us, sleep is death without the responsibility.  Time for me to get some.
17  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Jesus Christ is Risen! on: April 19, 2014, 06:46:31 PM

I respect the Buddha. I also respect Jains, whose fundamental idea is nonviolence. Both preach love and kindness. Buddha and Jains represent love and compassion and warmth and are highly against violence. I like what they represent.

Just because I do not respect JC, it does not mean I do not like what he represents us, as many different individuals and religions represent what JC represented. He is not the only one.

So you respect what He represents but not the man?  Are you this dismissive of the Buddha and Jains Dharma as you are toward the Christ?  Do you belittle them with equal zeal but maintain that their words and actions are worthy of respect but not them?  After all, they are not the only ones.

And I never said He was the only one.  For me He is the One.  Not you.  Me.  I have always maintained that none of us, myself included, know what awaits us at death.  I could be wrong. I could be right.  We will just have to die to see if we live again.

I find it odd that you respect what is represented but not the person that lived and taught it or so it would seem given your thoughts quoted above.   Fine.  Your choice, not mine.

It's turtles all the way down, you know.

Listen to the last one. Singer has soul for days.

"There is no death for those that believe."  Beautiful.

I truly enjoyed this one and will do so many more times.   Thank you!
19  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Jesus Christ is Risen! on: April 19, 2014, 06:28:21 PM
Nope, not dense at all. Except you still have not provided me with an answer.

I do not mind you firing back and I can deal with it. But like most people, you and others say we have to respect religion. But no one ever states why. Its just assumed we have to respect peoples religion.

Personally, I do not think it has anything to do with your style. I think it has more to do with the fact that you cannot provide me with an answer, so you try to be enigmatic about it by saying, "It's there, you just can't see it."  Come back when you have an answer and can actually debate the point, instead of pretending to be brilliant.  Roll Eyes

I shall explain it to you as best I can and whether or not you understand it is entirely up to you.

I never nor will I ever tell anyone to "respect religion", in this case I simply state the Christ, the man known as Jesus of Nazareth is deserving of respect for the life He led.  His was a life of what is known as agape love.  Never did he rape, murder or steal as is the wont of men.  And this opposed to what is known of the two men I mentioned, Mohammed and Joseph Smith.

I have zero respect for those two deviants.  I put no stock in either men nor "religion".  I have my faith and share it freely but would never force you to be as I am.  Never.  If you have zero respect for a life such as that as led by Jesus of Nazareth, fine.  I get it.  You hate what He represents but as with false profits (and I misspelled it on purpose as a play on words) just don't try to justify your acts as being just.

Hopefully this will sate your curiosity, it should for it is easily understood.  If not, too bad. It is what it is .  Simple and to the point.    I have no respect for Islam nor LDS or for the religion of my own mother, Catholicism.  None.  I will respect the office  if the one who holds it merits that respect by both word and deed, but again, a religion as debauched as these three are deserves to be exposed.

It is said that a cult is simply a religion without political power.    To that I would add this.  Politics is a religion with unbridled power.

It was kind of a joke, Scott.

Oooops.  I'm kinda old. And dense.  And...Well, you get it.  Grin  But I enjoy Def Leppard in spite of my being more a Sinatra kind of old fart!  Big Grand Funk Railroad fan too.  Music is something I really enjoy, in fact I went to listen to some music through speakers I am interested in today,   Magnepans.  Stunning.  Even though they are the entry level Maggies they were still impressive.

Oh lord, I am getting old(er).  Grin  But I did enjoy the first video very much.
21  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Rock 'n' Roll on: April 19, 2014, 06:03:00 PM
My pleasure. And let's just get this outta the way: In no way, shape, or form am I suggesting they could possibly hold a candle to the mighty Def Leppard.

A friend's son-in-law who is in the business got him and his wife backstage with Def Leppard.  He said they were a great bunch of guys, no longer party animals but more family men now.

But man, "Pour Some Sugar On Me" is eternally righteous!

Who's John, Scott?

A friend that used to post here as "Reeves".   I used to look in here when he was alive, mostly at his bidding as he had a wit and was proud of it when he used it in his posts.  When he passed away I joined (that took forever to get approved!) to let some of the people here that he was very fond of know and just stayed because I used to be a bodybuilder and I do enjoy a great many of the threads here and the people that make up this place.

John was an Atheist and in fact used to be Christian but lost his faith but never his sense of humor nor manners.  Well, almost never his manners.   Grin  One of my dearest friends and as I said, an Atheist but lord he could make me laugh myself stoooopid and while I wish he hadn't lost his faith, he was and still is my friend.

Kais cock looks semi erect. (no homo)

That's cuz he thought he was standing next to a man.
25  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Jesus Christ is Risen! on: April 19, 2014, 05:47:43 PM

Why should I respect Christ or religion? You're calling me an asshole because of my opinion. So be it. You still have not answered why I should respect JC.

You really are dense, aren't you.  It's there, you just cannot see it because it's written for all to see, not just the rude and childish.

And no, you're not behaving as an asshole but rather a whole ass.  You just cannot deal with someone that does not care about the state of your soul and doesn't mind firing back an insult or two but with a pulchritudinous style far exceeding your own.   I was taught by two of the best.

If you were half the man John was, you would know.   I miss him.
