That Alien photo has me laughing because I just watched the movie "The Watch" last night. That reminds of of the part where VV and everyone starts taking pics with the Alien thinking its dead and then you see its hand start moving haha.

Yup, that was the place. always was a hole in the wall, but they threw some nice parties in the parking lot. not really one of my spots.

I was a south-shore white trash boy, LOL (west islip),

Ahh..thats one of the only areas that I honestly don't know well. I think the only time I have been in that zone is at Club Royale. I wonder if Johnny Moya still bounces over there Smiley

LOL...Molly Bloom's ..I watched the Yankees win the 96 series there with my buddies.  what was the name of the place that always threw the big tent parties further west on 25, on the south side in that shopping center ?

Arizonas in Commack? I think that is what you are talking about. I believe its just a hole in the wall crack den now Smiley

Got it for $1.50 on Redbox

Okay I might be retarded for this...but that fucking redbox in stop and shop has new movies? I honestly never looked at it because I figured it was all older stuff.

Wtf ending. Why did Dottie go ape shit and start shooting people?

I was kind of pissed when it just stopped after that. Glad I rented it ondemand so only 5bucks.
That bitch is 50? Wow...damn not bad. That fucking bush was so classic trailer..and Lowell from Wings was fucking great!
MM: Is that your dick Hanzel? THC: Uhm....hmm..no.

this was almost 20 years ago, sorry no pics. you are just going to have to suspend disbelief like in the movies and accept that a guy who looks like i do has had sex with quite a few attractive women in his life

Heffrons. Wow, you are old Wink .j/k. I wouldn't be surprised if we knew a lot of the same people. Small world. Now the strip in Smithtown has gone from Molly Blooms "underaged-get-ready-to-be-on-how-to-catch-a-predator" type crowd..I think the names change every few months but that Nappertandys is still there. I had a good friend who owned the Yucatan tanning salon down the block, so would sometimes go to those places for happy hour or whatever. I lived in East Npt for most my life until few years ago.

nice to hear from you. I would leave out the reverse BB rows till you are better but if you can use the supported T bar row later in the new gym then all the better. Hammer strength rows i liked in the Gym. Also liked the hammer pull down machine...

I also like the Hammer Strength Pulldowns they are a personal favorite of mine. Both the gyms 'close' to my home have the one with the overhandgrip. Angled diaganal so you can't grab it underhand. You can only do it one other way by grabbing hold of the actual arms which is a nice movement to do last since you cant go too heavy.

The only thing I am going to miss in my current gym is the Hammer Strength pulldown with reverse grip. The one Dorian always used. The gym I am going to go back to however, has a pullover machine which a lot have phased out. I LOVE doing those pullover machines for 3sets 10reps to get the back nice and pumped.

First back workout since getting back in the gym after aggrivating old disc problem.

Reverse grip pulldows 3 sets 10-12reps
Close grip V bar pulldowns 3sets 10-12reps
Hammer Strength seated row 3sets 10-12reps (one arm at a time, inside neutral grip)
Hammer Strength shrugs 3sets 10-12reps (seated)
Hyperextensions 3sets 8-12reps (varied reps, more worried about moving smooth and tight posture)

Felt some discomfort but this seems to be something I can do until the pain goes away. So far its slowly getting better, almost considered doing reverse barbell rows but not yet Smiley

PS- Can't wait to switch back to my old gym when my current expires soon. They have same stuff but they have the supported Tbar which is a personal favorite. Haven't used that in many many years. I honestly like it more than the oldschool Tbar setup even when I had no back problems and could do whatever I wanted...just has this nice groove and its not really a machine since its not in a locked path, just supported. Kind of like the one arm DB rows at Bev Francis's gym. The bench can rest the db and you get in perfect position where you can't cheat at all unless you start swinging lol.

get someone knowledgable (not a gym buddy or rat) to look at your posture and maybe check out how you are standing and how you place your feet  - whither splayed out in every day use (as distinct from a good squatting position) Almost all back problems come from some muscle mis use some time or other. you are at an age where correction reaps greater rewards than later. Consider some yoga - at least enough to get more body position concious.

Makes a lot of sense. Thank you. I actually have been considering some basic yoga. Since I first had this pain 10 years ago in my early 20's. The ART (active release therapy) from the chiro took care of everything. The chiro worked for Dr Durlan Castro's practice so of course they worked on bodybuilders and athletes daily. He had mentioned that the constant injections leave you with scar tissue and that MIGHT also cause irritation to the nerves. Made sense. I always worked on stretching after that and of course when I got lazy and didn't stretch for a month or so...bam.

Yep. In fact they lost both games and the running back did jack shit. Then when he came back they went something like 15 and 2 with Emmitt basically willing them to victory with a separated shoulder in a playoff game I believe.  Kinda shoots down that theory that ALWAYS comes up in a Barry vs. Emmitt debate when these guys say "Hell, even my fat ass could have averaged 100 yards a game rushing under THAT offensive line!!" Really?? Did ya see the running game BEFORE Emmitt got there and Newton/Tuinei were blocking?? I thought they were capable of turning dogshit into gold!

Of course when discussing Barry Sanders the obligatory outright lie that he was playing with the equivalency of a small town JV football team much be thrown out there as well.  Cool

Thats right. I forgot about that they did win out. One of the Cowboy players in an interview said how everyone was pissed about Jerry not matching the Barry Sanders deal money wise. When they lost the 2nd game Jerry came down into the locker room as usual and Charles Hailey through his helmet as hard as he could against the wall right next to Jerry and said " You need to sign this mutherfuka right now!"

Would have loved to see Jerry's face Smiley

sorry to hear about your back. I myself have never had a back problem.. I would use  pre-exhaust on my quads : Leg extension+Squats and Leg curls+ Romanian Deadlifts( if you can do them if not Hyperextensions) Dumbbell squats and lunges work too. I would train my Abs hard too and the obliques. Any other Mature trainers got any better suggestions to help mdn250 ?  I take it we are talking about your lower back?

Thanks that sounds like a plan, I haven't done lunges in years that with the new front squats at a higher rep range could be a switch that I need. I am training again after a few years off. I was so happy to train again I probably just overdid it and caused it to flareup. I will get the Active Release Therapy from the chiro if it doesn't go away soon. That is an amazing therapy! But expensive Smiley

12  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Training Q&A / Re: How much do you front squat on: December 02, 2012, 09:32:22 AM
Guys with flexibility problems like to cross their arms but it's not as good as a traditional clean grip. One way to get around it is to use straps around the bar. Take your traditional straps and open them up. Loop them around the bar. Use an elbows up grip and grab the tails of the straps. This will allow you to keep your elbows high to create a nice shelf for the bar. Now you can go really deep and upright without dumping the bar.

THANK YOU! I tried this after your post. I am very very slowly starting to get used to this. Its perfect to do last and really burn out the quads.

Question for you older guys who have had back pain problems in the past. I am 32 and this last happened when I was in my early 20s. I have some problems that are not serious enough to require any surgery but the disc has some damage and sometimes I get that sciatica type pain.

Have you had it and how did you adjust your training?

For example.... I don't want to do say switch to leg presses because I feel that squats will actually help. I just lighten the weight and do more reps and play with the tempo.

Care to guess how many of those "ultra badass" offensive linemen you named blocking for Emmitt had pro bowls before he arrived? A big fat zero. And they were both pros for almost 10 years each before him!

It's amazing how much better a gritty running back consistently moving the chains without fumbling can make an offensive line look and how bad an offensive line can also look when a guy is dancing around for losses trying to hit the homerun and by doing so putting his team in second/third and longs.

Mark Tuinei?? Nate Newton?? Haha okay man!! Those guys NOBODIES before Emmitt. Loving that revisionist history and total disregard for stats that you keep putting out!

And quit with the nonsense with Detroit was one of the worst franchises back in the 1990s, that's just total nonsense and I can't put it any simpler than that. "Worst franchises" are like what the Chiefs or Jaguars have now. Not a Detroit defense that was middle of the road, 2 pro bowl offensive lineman, 1 definite badass receiver and another who had a 100 catch season and maybe the best running back of all time. Yeah a real shit group they had there in Detroit  Roll Eyes

You are right about the Cowboys oline...people forget Larry Allen wasn't there until 95 also...but anyway, your point about the offensive line...do you remember the name of the back who filled in for Emmit during his 2 game holdout during their SuperBowl run? I can't off the top of my head but I remember the offensive line did NOT make that guy look good Smiley

You sound like a monster, have you ever fought in the octogan?

Me? Yes of course, after training for fun about one year out of my life I became a phenom. Guess an actual convo on this is not possible.

I was writing that because Ronnie said that, but you know what you are right. What he did those last few years for the Olympia was just insane. 4months training after just chillin....2nd place, repeat, 3rd, repeat, 2nd, repeat 5th? and deserved to win one of them Smiley

Peyton Hillis finally snapped?

Or D-Bowe kill another escort?

Maybe Dontari Poe realized the NFL 3-4 NT is not for kids?

Or was it Romeo just opening up shop on everyone?

NFL always stood and stands for "Not For Long" but this shit lately is just crazy!

Hell no.  He played the Browns twice a year in his heyday and had like 500 yards against just them in his 2000 yd season.

Players that should be mentioned though.

Oj Simpson

Earl Campbell

Eric Dickerson

Thurman Thomas

Earl Campbell was a bad man. That style of play was my favorite. Of course you know it leads to a short career and a walker later in life but damn that was one bad mutherfucker. Made Jerome Bettis look like CJ Spiller Smiley

Honestly, I am gonna get ripped here....but I still believe Ricky Williams had the potential to be one of the best of all time. If you watched his game in college and the whole NFL timeline...you see a player who just had the power, quickness, agility, and just overall "IT" factor from time to time. Its just a sad thing he never was able to display that. I would like to thank Master P for negotiating his first contract though Smiley

C'mon you REALLY want me to compare Terrell Davis to Sanders, Jim Brown, Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton??

That top 5 group is extremely exclusive and while Terrell Davis was great for a few years who would YOU put him in over those guys?

This.
TD was amazing but your right he did not have a long enough career to belong in there. Of course it wasn't his fault, but thats life. He did just fine in his Smiley I don't think he has to worry much.

And I think all the 2k club guys get mentioned because of that. Jamall Lewis was a great back who belongs to an elite club (the 2000plus club) but would never be on those lists either.
24  Getbig Misc Discussion Boards / Sports Discussion Boards / Re: NFL Rushing Attack..Who best running back..ever? on: December 01, 2012, 09:24:12 AM

Barry could do it every way. blow right by you, do something retarded and run around you, or on occasion go right through you. best pure runner ever.

You watch his highlights and you see guys literally not knowing what the fuck to do as he's coming their way

Barry Sanders, did everything like Groink said above..but his most impressive factor of his game was that he did ALL THAT, his whole career, without a great offensive line. They had their stars for some time but I still believe that they were great pass blockers and not run blockers..doesn't matter cause Sanders never complained once about the line because he didn't have to. That is some serious fucking talent there.

How badass would that Lions team be with Stafford at QB, CJ at WR, and Barry in the backfield Smiley
That would be fun to watch, like the 90's Cowboys triplets.

They fit the booth well...just like his products

Usnic Acid = Scary Ingredient
She-Beats = Scary all around

Isolyse = Counterfiet Product
Shebeasts = Lie about taking Species products just to get free access to the event center

Species = overpriced products
SheBeasts= Overpriced entertaiment for schmoes

I like Isolyze. Mixes great and tastes great. Isolates are the only whey I can tolerate since getting hit with Crohns Disease when I was 25. I am 32 now and have tried many since and so far Isolyze is the best tasting isolate. Noway its cheaper concentrate.

MDN

ps- I don't care about pushing for Dave or PJ, I really like the product. Dave I know from the past, when I was 20 he wrote out all my stuff for me at a consult on LI, and always responded to my emails in detail for free throughout the years before I stopped bodybuilding. PJ Braun seems like a cool guy kinda reminds me of Evan C with some Dice Clay thrown in the personality.
