1  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: how did sergey nubret train, he seemed like an interesting figure on: May 06, 2013, 02:11:14 AM
u mean u trained for 4 hours every day

each muscle gorup twice a week

30+ sets

that kinda of thing

separation and detail = diet
I trained 2 to 3 hours 5- 6 days per week.
But even with that frequency and volume i didnt overtrain since the weigth used was light.
After 10 plus years of training and dieting i can for certain say in four years training like that i was most definetly more cut separated, and more quality in my physique.
Maybe a little softer but bigger than doing other systems.

I trained on his program natural and gained details, separations and mass all in the same time.
I now do powerlifting but he changed my view on bodybuilding training.
Used to talk to him on bb.com website and he replyed on every question.
That was before he died. As if he knew he was going to go and wanted to pass on the knowelage.

6  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: can you improve your squat strength by only doing leg press for months on: October 19, 2012, 05:35:53 AM
Maybe a little bit but leg press won't allow you to feel the weight on the back/shoulders and spine. Regardless of how heavy you go on the leg press, 405 pounds on the squat will still feel as heavy on your shoulders as it did before the months of leg press if not heavier.

7  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: how did squats and deadlifts ever become "cool" or worth boasting about on: October 12, 2012, 02:52:13 PM
They became cool to brag about when lifting was fucking invented. They're 2 of the big 3 lifts.
Only people that don't care about their dead and squats are douches that go into the gym everyday to bench and curl.
This.
8  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: how did squats and deadlifts ever become "cool" or worth boasting about on: October 12, 2012, 02:50:53 PM
because they're 'hard work' and even people who should know better really want to cling to the idea that enough 'hard work' will eventually, magically transform them into serge nubret. And also the potato-shaped Riptoe kids think that squatting 350 makes up for them not being able to bench bodyweight

chasing a 600+ squat and 700+ deadlift wrecked my lower body over the years.. thankfully I can still train around the injuries but being 'hardcore' and trying to get 'brutally strong' is fkin retarded after a point.
Chasing meaning you failed?
9  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: how did squats and deadlifts ever become "cool" or worth boasting about on: October 12, 2012, 08:49:11 AM
Maybe becouse they are the hardest, most productive moves you can do?
And they are full cool, yes! Smiley
10  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Training Q&A / Re: SLOW + controlled negatives, forceful + focused positives, and a hard squeeze. on: September 09, 2012, 12:45:42 PM
Fast explosive movements on the positive part of rep with slower returns build fast twich muscle fiber that are the fibers that have the most number in the muscle so stimulating those fibers adds more size. Slower returns help avoid injuries as opposed to dropping the weight as fast as lifting it on the positive part and builds slow twich fibers.
So i'm not surprised about your gain on this type of lifting especially if you haven't been doing it before.
If training in this mode you should stop the set as soon the reps start to slow down or use a spotter to keep the speed steady trough the set.
11  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: age is just an excuse on: September 09, 2012, 05:51:24 AM
Ditto. But it also depends how you taken care or not taken care of your body in earlyer years.
12  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: does everyone think they train the hardest they possibly can? on: September 09, 2012, 05:45:59 AM
I train hard at times to the limit and beyond.
Like going to failure on moust sets i do and some forced reps or partials, drop sets etc.
And even totally exausted i still think maybe i could of went harder, get more feeling in the muscle and train more intense in general.

Great work man! And that's coming from a natural as well. Keep training hard!  Smiley
14  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Pictures of Members & More / Re: 18 yo natural on: September 09, 2012, 03:04:41 AM
Good work man, seems you have very good potential so my advice is to stay natural and i'm a natural myself.
I agree on the previous poster that pointed you need extra work on the traps.
It seems that in natural trainers that traps grow slower than encanced.
I have to bring up my traps also so i'm doing extra sets for them and
I advise you do that also. Keep up the great work.  Smiley

x2 this is not a lot even for your weight, and you're probably actually eating less than that or at least close to the lower end.  Most people who claim to be "hard gainers" are really just under-eating and over-estimating their daily calories.  Your basal metabolic rate alone is probably over 1800 calories and I bet you aren't eating much over 2000 a day.
This.
17  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Training Q&A / Re: Dumbbell Flyes on: September 08, 2012, 10:40:43 PM
DB flyes are for women..
Keep the trolling for the G&O section please....
18  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Training Q&A / Re: Dumbbell Flyes on: September 08, 2012, 05:28:38 AM
Do you guys think this is an important chest move? I have really started to doubt itīs training effect . I have concentrated on Benches Flat/incline/decline. I also have dipping bars which i use to replace decline presses now and again.( dips are great)
Flyes are a very good exercise thats been time proven. But the tricky part is correct execution of the movement.
The example of correct form gave Arnold who said that the movement should look like you are trying to hug a big three on the positive part, and on the negative try to get as deep a strech as possible also important is to keep your elbows fixed and as motionless as possible and to stop the movement before the tension at the top lessens.
I like to bring my pinkys in at the top and give my chest added peak contraction.
19  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: 200lb dumbell incline press on: September 08, 2012, 05:00:35 AM
take away the juice and let's see what he can do. i've done 140's by 10 in better form unjuiced. Grin Grin Grin  i'm just saying.
140's for ten is impressive weight for sure. Props for that.
Personaly i can do 3 full rom reps on flat bench with that weight, albait it is not a fixed weight but ajustable olympic bar pair.
20  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Positive Bodybuilding Discussion & Talk / Re: Making abs visible on: September 05, 2012, 03:51:22 AM
In short, diet is of course important as to see the actual abs the workout will tighten and strenghten the abs and make them more muscular and the cuts deeper.
21  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Positive Bodybuilding Discussion & Talk / Re: deadlifts on: September 05, 2012, 03:47:42 AM
If i'm trying to get stronger on them then first in my routine if not i do them near the end of my routine.

24  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The best ABS of the US! on: July 04, 2012, 07:24:59 AM
imagine if this guy was still alive.
Zabo had incredible abs. I heard he said that a minimum number of reps in a set for abs should be no less than seventy reps!
25  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The best ABS of the US! on: July 04, 2012, 07:21:19 AM
With great marketing, anything can be marketed as good or even great.

As long as you know HOW to push the buttons of the mindless mass, you can earn a lot of money on it.

It's good for him that he gained some fame and money on a subpar physique and uncivilized behavior though.

Not everyone can do that.
