We are going to hear about this guy in the news "Guy shoots up mall due to drug use in IFBB"
Very funny.
I am a man of reason, no more , no less. You?
52  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: An open letter to Bob Chic on: April 01, 2008, 07:40:30 PM

This is an open forum. IF silly and insulting posts are ok and allowed ,so should polite and issue based threads.
If you don't like that, ignore me, otherwise too bad, it is my board too.Bash me all you want, I have decided to post what i feel needs to be said, and could care less how negative anyone is with me.
I notice you had to attack me and ignored the issue? hmmmmm, unable to argue? hehe
Thanks, Howard
53  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: hello and welcome to getbig! on: April 01, 2008, 07:37:15 PM
greetings newcomer! it seems as if you've stumbled across our little enclave on the interwebs. now, before you get started, there are a few things you should understand.

1) this isn't, MD, or whatever. get used to it. i'm sure you're used to a friendly and positive atmosphere on other sites where people can post whatever they like and not worry about getting flamed for it. if you're expecting that here, you're in for an unpleasant surprise. if you can't handle getting your balls busted, move along.

2) settle down, it ain't that serious. you're probably noticing that there's a hell of lot of serious negativity and it's probably hurting your feelings. you might even be wondering how these people can function in society when they're so hateful. well sit down and listen up, it's the internet. we say things just for shits and giggles, stop thinking we mean it deep down. if you're planning on taking every little thing everyone says to heart, you might want to move along.

3) don't try and bullshit us. a lot of people here have finely honed bullshit detectors and at the first sign of an exaggeration or an outright lie, you're gonna get called out on it. maybe you're used to boards where you can say you benched 495 for 10 reps and get congratulated for "a hell of a workout", or say that you made $500,000 in the stock market last quarter and people will just ask you for investment advice, but that won't fly around here. if you think you can pump up your ego by making shit up, plan on getting a whole lot of hell for it.

4) even if you're not bullshitting, plan on proving it. maybe you DID bench 495 for a set of 10 yesterday in your chest workout. well unless you have it on video it's probably in your best interest to just keep that quiet, because you're gonna get bombarded with claims of bullshit. if by some freak chance you're one of those guys that are 250 at 5% body fat with two phD's and an eight-figure income, unless you feel like proving it, you'd probably do best to just shut up or accept a reputation as a bullshitter.

5) if you're cool, we're cool. don't think people just get flamed for no good damn reason. even the more negative posters here are cool as long as you don't act the ass. so if you notice that the board as a whole seems to be turning against you, you might want to re-evaluate your behaviour.

6) if posts on the G&O offend you, stay out of the alphabet boards. really. you're not ready. just steer clear.

7) if you're in the middle of a post and notice you're talking about harming another poster physically, close the browser and go outside. let's say you decided to ignore everything i've said so far and are in a heated battle with one of getbig's more vicious attack dogs. you're furious, you're pounding away on your keyboard, you've got this awesome and scary threat about how if you ever met that dude in real life you'd cut off his arms and beat him with them. STOP. it's not going to scare anyone, and in the event that your chances of surviving the GB jungle weren't shot entirely, they will be if you submit that post. walk away from the computer.

8 ) do not cry to ron for anything other than someone burning your house down. yaroni's a busy guy, and crying to him just because someone hurt your feelings is going to both make you look like a pussball and likely get you even more shit once the offender gets a warning from ron himself. think of it like school. after you tell the teacher about the bully, he goes after you even worse. toughen up or sit at a different lunch table.

9) if you got made a fool of, don't come back with a gimmick. so someone really hurt your feelings and you flipped out, then got ron to delete a thread and now you want to start fresh. so you fire up a new gmail account and register a new name, thinking you'll REALLY show those bullies what's what. well don't. chances are if you're at that point, you're not bright enough to keep everyone from finding out who you are, and you'll look twice as stupid when everyone figures it out. either tough it out and stick around or just go away entirely.

10) if you have anything embarrassing on the internet, for the love of god don't register here with the same handle. there's this nifty thing called "google" now, and let's say you also have an account on "". if you decide to register over there with "GIJoeMan55" and then do the same over here, guess what? that's right, someone's gonna dig it up and you'll flip out, ask ron to delete the thread, and then come back with a gimmick. bad news.

these are just a few little bits of advice that should aid you in your stay here. and if you decide to ignore these tips and find yourself flamed to oblivion, don't come crying to me, because frankly i don't give a shit.

happy posting!

perphspa your views listed above represent the majority who currenly frequent this board. Some here , like me prefer the polite and positive approach and will continue to do so. It is your choice how you wish to post and deal with others, but I don't abide by your doctrine. Thanks, Howard
54  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / An open letter to Bob Chic on: April 01, 2008, 07:33:22 PM
Dear Bob,
I would hope you realize how much respect and admiration I have for you as an outstanding  spokesman for our sport of bodybuilding. I find you to be quite intelligent, charismatic , yet down to earth.
I sincerely hesitate to write this as it risks putting you on the spot. Having said that , this is an open forum and I doubt anyone will take some Joe Blow like me very serious anyway.
You have said, that a bodybuilder has a "choice" between doing what needs to be done to compete ( drug use) or to retire. Obviously, some amount of various drugs must be taken by elite level bodybuilders to compete on a level playing field. Since most of this drug use violates the federal drug laws, the bodybuilder is really making a choice to break the drug laws to compete or retire.
In is my strong belief that NO pro or top amatuer athlete should have to risk breaking the law just to compete fairly.

We have seen the media circus with the various steroid hearings in baseball and other sports. No resaonble person that loved bodybuilding would want to see our sport dragged into that nightmare.
Also consider that extreme , unrestricted drug use has hurt female bodybuilder greatly. The top female bodybuilders may train hard and deserve our respect as bodybuilders, but the androgenic look from absurd level of hormones has destroyed any mainstream appeal it once enjoyed.Plus, I believe , 3 years ago, the DEA served several supeonas at the Arnold classic. Many top pros were called in and questioned.
I think we can both agree that when a NON bodybuilding government agency steps in, NOTHING good for bodybuilding will come of it.

You Bob ,are a pro bodybuilder and pro athletes rep. You have a voice and platform that a simple fan like me does not, that is why I am writting this to you. I was  part of the AAU MR America Comm., when drug testing debacles and law suits that followed ended the Mr America for good, just a decade ago. I simply urge you Bob, to use your influence to try and bring some reason and sanity to this issue.
I am not sure what the exact solution is. But as lifetime fan of bodybuilding, I would hope that "something" positve can be done now, rather than wait for worst.
Thanks for being a great spokesman for our sport and I apologize if this was out of line on my part.
Sincerely, Howard White, Ga

PS/ I like bodybuilding and get If ya want to flame me , fine, I am a big boy and can take the heat.
I have decided NOT to leave the kitchen fellas. Wink
55  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Who's watching Wrestlemania tonight? on: April 01, 2008, 03:42:23 PM
I was there, and it was fantastic!!!

I thought we were going to get soaked, as there was a light drizzle at first. In fact, the lights went out during the women's tag team match. We had paper falling from the sky, from all the exploding fireworks, and the smoke was suffocating.

I think Batista threw out his back, after that Batista-bomb on Umaga.

Unfortunately, there was a miscue, which could have been tragic at the end. The pyro that went streaming from the top of the Citrus Bowl, during the end after Undertaker's win had a glitch. The rockets were attached to black cords and were supposed to zip toward the field.

But, a few of them went off, without gliding down the lines. The lines snapped and the pyro started falling on the folks in the nose-bleed seats (where I was). I think one guy got his shoulder burned.

The wrestlers that got the most response were Flair (especially at the end), Undertaker, Hemsley, Orton (severe boos; I thought the fans were going to riot when he won), Cena (cheers and boos), and Kane.

The Big Show-Mayweather match was hilarious; but, the crowd wasn't in it, at first....until Big Show started pounding on the boxer (and beating up his entourage). Of course, as soon as it was announced that the match was "No Disqualification", I knew Mayweather would win, which he did, after kicking Big Show in the nads, wacking him with a chair multiple times, and clocking with either brass knuckles or a "bling-bling" chain.

Overall, WrestleMania rocked the stadium. It was better than the Super Bowl, that's for sure.  In fact, I'm still hoarse.
Look, I know you are sincere and really enjoyed this wraasslin' show. I suspect a lot of current get big posters like it as well. I know many enjoy MMA fights and stuff like that.
In brief, I just don't fit in with the current get big crowd, no biggy, to each his own.
Enjoy your wrasslin'  Thanks Howard

THIS is the future of the sport Howard!..................
Now THAT was damn funny big Mike.
I will take my get big vacation on that funny , silly upbeat note with a smile, chuckle and laugh.
See ya whenever....
57  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Should I continue being a ticket buying fan of the IFBB pros? on: April 01, 2008, 08:49:48 AM
Trying to be ybe Howie could vacation or something on School breaks?
(ps: with no computer access!)

I agree Mike, good pt. I need my cpu access but don't require get big access, you are 100% correct and I am going to take a break from this and other BB boards for a bit.I am not the least bit mad or upset, just shaking my head at the nature of this get big forum, no more , no less. Maybe I should focus on an actual DIET instead.
See ya, Howard
58  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Should I continue being a ticket buying fan of the IFBB pros? on: April 01, 2008, 08:46:59 AM
Howie just chill out/read a few threads................. .........

no need to post new threads all the time ....right bro?
I think the real issue is simply the nature of the posts on this and similar boards. Most are funny, silly and lack much thought or serious dialogue.
I am NOT trying to get attention for myself , but on various ideas and policy positions within bodybuilding.
The reality is, that serious, issue based threads are NOT what this board( and other similar BB forums) is about.
I agree, it is of little interest to most the post/read here. It is a waste of my time as well.
Most of the replys that I get are pretty silly and just jokes, etc. That is not much of an  interest to me.
Serious, thoughtful dialogue is of little interest to most here as well.
In the end, I am banging my  head against the proverbial wall . Time to cry; " UNCLE" and accept it, move on, etc.
Thanks, Howard
59  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Should I continue being a ticket buying fan of the IFBB pros? on: April 01, 2008, 07:45:21 AM
I love bodybuilding and even have fun sometimes here at GET BIG.
I am considering NOT going to too many IFBB pro shows. Why?
The extreme juiced up / freaky pro is NOT what I think bodybuilding and physique contests should be about.Overall, I am lot happeier when I keep that side of bodybuilding out of my own personal bodybuilding space. To be honest, I am LOT more happy with bodybuilding when I focus on my training and stick with NPC shows. I prefer wt classes to one big class and like seeing the various body wt divisions compare against eachother. I know the NPC is hardly drug free, but, the drug use seems a bit more  "sane" overall.
The ironic thing is, when I actually competed , I hardly ever went to pro events. Sure, I read the mags and looked at the pics of the pros, but didn't go to shows. I never have gone to an Olympia either.
This yr, if my diet keeps going well, I plan to compete in a couple NPC regional shows this fall.
I will be attedning the NPC Jr USA's this May ( already have my ticket ) and the NPC Nationals this fall , here in ATL.
I do admire Ed and his wife IFBB pro Betty Pariso who put on a great event in Dallas each yr.
I would consider THAT event due to the fact it has an NPC show with the pros and is run by the Pariso's whom I respect and want to support.
I have no desire to spend the money for an Olympia ticket however or pro shows like that.
Any of you feel like this?

62  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Before the internet BB boards/forums... on: March 31, 2008, 03:57:53 PM
Before we had get big and similar forums:
1. I felt bodybuilding was a pretty good sport overall.
2. I enjoyed meeting other bodybuilders.
3. I felt confident most people liked me.

Now after, get big.... Cry
If this place were any more negative, it would = the USA national debt.
Of course if you are like me and keep comming back , you are asking for it.
Kinda like when someone is going to fart and gives you a quick warning of the comming blast.
Instead of moving away you stick your face near their butt and take one to the face.
That is what get big is like...taking a stinky fart in the face and asking for another Tongue
63  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The real deal on the world of bodybuilding and going pro on: March 31, 2008, 03:48:51 PM
You get what you pay for:

$34k/year = our current army of retarded teachers

$100k/year = PHD graduates and qualified professors

An experienced  high school teacher with a PhD will have bigger base salary  than most professors.
Our  districtscale will max  in the high 80's for a PhD or EdD and 25 yrs experience. If I adjuct at one of the local U's 1 night a week and teach summer school somewhere I can get close to 6 figs soon. Our scale STARTS in the 40's for no experience and only a BS/ BA.
Most small college profs make in the 40's- 50's base salary.
Now, a full prof at class 5 major research U  or Top Tier school like Yale will make serious bucks.
64  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Bob Chic may be right... on: March 31, 2008, 03:39:55 PM
Howie it sounds like you want to make a change a lot of people will be nervous remember they the IFBB have a Drug Rule that they never use.Drug use in BB is perfect in their eyes just ask the Pro Rep.
Ok here is my feelings about this whole drugs in BB deal. As you know for a Joe Blow nobody I have actually made a decent effort over many YEARS to make drug use as issue and to have something done about it.
The problem with that idea is that the vast majority of everyone in hardcore bodybuilding doesn't think drugs are bad.
To the reg BB crowd it is me that has the "problem".
Kinda like living in a city where 95% of the people have 3 arms. Anyone with just 2 arms is wierd in that city ya know.
I have long accpeted that the hardcore , roid users will go down fighting with the last syringe cluthed tightly in their hands. Much  like a diehard NRA with his rifle.

It is obvious to e me that many of the hardcoreo roid users think real bodybuilding is near impossible with drugs.
To them when you take away most of the drugs you end the sport the know and love.
It is like flat chested girls who get implants. They are going to give those up until their chest explodes with 'em LOL
In the end, I strongly believe , the roid issue is almost a religious one for some extreme hardcore guys.

This is a major scam, or it sounds just like the kind of stuff those Nigerian con men have been doing. When I get these emails ( and I have) I fwd them to the my Ga Sec of state office of consumer fraud.
I was a US marine and know this is bad deal, mods delete this please!

68  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The IFBB pro judging standards? What ideas do you have? on: March 31, 2008, 09:23:47 AM
Some would consider the freakiest to be Ronnie at 245 lbs for the '01 Arnold.  You can still have freaks and weight limits.
I feel that most have better and deeper separation at slightly lowe wts myself.
In my opinion the desire to see freaks and not physiques as works of art ruins the sport.
69  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The IFBB pro judging standards? What ideas do you have? on: March 31, 2008, 08:58:35 AM

Holy shit I heard Komoto Dragon statues were one of the most dangerous statues in the world Shocked
This one was hard as a rock for some reason, but I subdued him with my superhuman powers

"homan"? "brans"? "comming"?
LOL, I type about as good as you diet and get ripped Shocked ouch!
71  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Thugs attack a guy over a parking spot on: March 31, 2008, 08:35:46 AM
The only reason I'd have for fighting and idiot like that, is out of simple disgust for what a piece of trash he is.  I can't stand the "tough guy" I want to fight the world attitude.  To fight some guy with a group of people around who know him, honestly, isn't very smart.  Even if the Mexican was winning, his boys would have jumped in quick and trampled the beener.  We're talking IQ's below 90 here, what do you expect on both ends.
In general, I dislike anyone overly loud or unintelligent.
I didn't want to bring up the IQ deal but since you did I will chime in.
Human behavior is NOT 100% certain and /or based on one factor, etc.
BUt, if you are a dumb azz and have a low IQ, your only option is to dominate with your body and by physical means.
For these numbnuts, the "get ahead with brains ship" sailed and is not comming back to their port of call Shocked
72  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Victor Conte planning to write book about steroid scandal on: March 31, 2008, 08:31:50 AM
Time has shown that Conte was the only one who was honest about everything. Marion Jones declerations of innocence looked really bad when she finally fessed up.  Conte said she was using the whole time.
His claims have been shown to be true and the book should be interesting.  Grin
I agree. Why does everyone hate the honest guy who tells thruth.
This way of thinking rewards the liars and cheats and condemns the honest and ethical?
73  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The real deal on the world of bodybuilding and going pro on: March 31, 2008, 08:30:00 AM
The USA needs to significantly increase (six figures) it's teachers salaries. This will make teaching an appealing option for intelligent University graduates.

Eventually the retards who teach today will be disposed of because of the massive influx of extremely qualified applicants.

And our children - and future - will be safe.
So what you are saying is that by raising the salary you will drive retards like me out of teaching Huh Shocked
Yeah, it is real "easy" and "stress free" to try and teach a room full of teens a core subject like Math, English or Science. They are all so eager to always learn and never try to act up in class, etc  Roll Eyes.
Perhaps some of you should get certified and give it a shot 'eh?
Then , you will get rich like me hehehe.
74  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The IFBB pro judging standards? What ideas do you have? on: March 31, 2008, 08:22:04 AM
Weight limits.  Make the competitors choose wisely where to add mass rather than indiscriminately increasing bodyweight.  Cutler, Coleman, Yates, Levrone, Wheeler; the list is endless of the guys who looked their best early in their careers.  We've seen enough "modern" bodybuilding to set a fair scale, maybe:
6'3" - 285 lbs. max.
6'1" - 265 lbs max.
5'11" - 245 lbs max.
5'9" - 225 lbs max.
5'7" - 205 lbs max.
5'5" - 185 lbs max.

This is the right idea but I would make it up to the judges to mark down when the guy had gotten TOO heavy for his ht. Look at how they judge a dog show? You have an ideal standard which includes ideal size. You can't have winning poodel with a chest the size of St Bernard. Bodybuilding has never considered the idea that one can have a muscle that is TOO BIG for one's frame.
75  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The IFBB pro judging standards? What ideas do you have? on: March 31, 2008, 08:08:43 AM
Howie W please Kill yourself. Thank you and have a good day
I would consider this request if and only if it helped the IFBB...yikes maybe it would hehe  Shocked
Plus, my dogs need a daddy.I am busy trying to fend off this wild beast at the momment.
