And what exactly do you think steroids are supposed to do?

One thing i will say though, never, EVER lable all people who use steroids as being lazy people who take shortcuts.

I know plenty of guys who on or off gear who train anyone into the ground!!!

Could it be dry skin?
I thnk that may have something to do with it.  I get that itchy feeling sometimes as well, and I have noticed that my skin is usually on the dry side when this happens.

Actually, I've noticed the exact same thing. Steroid users can gain ridiculous amounts of muscle mass without lifting heavy.
With that in mind, I know guys at my gym who take retarded amounts of gear, lift like idiots (bad form, too much weight etc) and yeah even with all that gear they still look like shit. Sure, their bigger and harder than they would be without it, but nothing impressive, you wouldn't even know they were on unless they told you.

It still amazes me that people see steroids as the ultimate cheating miracle in bodybuilding.  Sure, they do help but without proper training, proper nutrition, proper everything needed, they are just another wasted supplement.  They are worth about as much to an uneducated idiotic user as is a jug of protein is to someone who doesn't have the rest of their diet in order.

With all that, in my mind steroids don't make the bodybuilder, intense dedicated training, a proper game plan and a sound diet make the bodybuilder, steroids are and should only be used to help them just as any supplement does.

My guess is that the biggest guys have the most gear (probably ridiculous amounts) in their bodies so they do not need to do the basics.

Your right, that doesn't work for everyone, especially me. If I eat everything and whatever I want I blow up and not in a good way. I put on fat really easy so I have to be careful with my diet.  On the Plus side I find putting on muscle relativaly easy as well, but doing it in the cleanest manner posible, i.e. not putting on too much fat takes some planning on my part. I have found that what works best for me is to eat the same bulking or cutting.  The only major diferance is the ammount of food.  I have found that while i do need a lot more calories while bulking to make any progress, if I keep them as clean as I do when dieting the fat will not accumulate as much.

what do you suggest a good bulking set/rep would be?  Also what about a cutting set/rep would be?  Also whats your opinion on switching up your workouts, example barbell curls instead of dumbells?
Experiment, don't get stuck in the mind set that if it worked for one person it will work for you, and always remember there is no set plan no routine of sets and reps that is magic.

As for switching your workouts, absolutely, change is good and necessary.  Changing the exercises performed, or just changing the order in which they are done are all usefull.  Sometimes you might find it helpfull to instead of doing lets say 3 exercises for 4 sets each, to do 2 for six sets each.  But it really doesn't matter how you change it up so as long as you do in order to keep your body from adapting.  Start paying noticing the guys in your gym who are consistant in their training, but they never change their routines.  Every gym I have been in has a few of these guys.  Every workout for every muscle group is the same every time, and so is their progress.  It becomes stagnate which is the last thing you want.

I think jay's training method is better when incorperated into your training, not followed to a T. 
That's exactly right, like its been said a million times, everyones body is different and will react different to certain types of training, diet etc. I personally get more out of high volume training but each bodypart varies with the amount of sets.  For example, the only way I have had any success with my quads and back is extremally high volume, 20-24 sets for quads and around 18-20 for back.  Yeah that's a lot of sets but it has worked the best so far.  As for shoulders and chest I have found that 12-15 sets seems to work really well, and bi's and tries I will only do 8 or 9 sets.  For each set in every body part I never go below 6 reps and usually stick between 8-12; but for quads I will often go as high as 15-20 reps for some of my sets.

I would suggest to anyone trying to develop a solid training style to experiment with each bodypart.  Try higher and lower amounts of sets for each muscle group until you find the combination that works best for you

I agree with what most have said, up your reps.  Another thing is try and make sure your not doing the exact same routine every time you hit bi's. Be it switching the exercises, or just simply switching the order, for example one week you do bb curls first and then the next you do them last. If you are stuck in the same routine then can really hinder progress.

Two things that have helped me develope my bi's are incorperating drop sets. And second, I really like hitting bi's with back. After I train back my bi's are already primed. If you do this you won't be able to go as heavy, but since you are after developement who cares. Good luck!

Bad idea! Very bad idea! Add test or don't waste your time and money. Unless you enjoy screwing yourself over.

How many of you admit to using steroids? Obviously a lot of us on this board use gear, and more than likely get asked this question more often than not.  Personally, I hate lying to people, but I know I can't go out telling every one that yeah I use steroids. Very few people know that I use, and I would just assume keep it that way simply for the fact that it has such a demonizing way about it.  One thing I get sick of is this little tid bit I hear a lot, and it goes like this, "yeah, I could get as big as you if I did one cycle, but I am going to do it the right way." I mean come on, it's like these idiots think that if they did a cycle they would be the next Mr. Olympia champion.  Now I know that I still have along way to go and I will continue to improve myself, and yeah steroids will play a part in that. It just really pisses me off when idiots think that steroids are the only reason I have made any progress in the first place. It also reallypisses me off when these same people say that they are going to train naturally because they are worried about their health, but of coarse then they immediately go out and get plastered on a nightly basis, and then fill their fat guts up with Krystal's and Waffle House, no doubt picture perfect specimens of pure health. Well, that's it for my ranting tonight.
