The one thing that I do not understand is the ever returning argument that un-trained people with guns are supposed to be able to stop determined shooters in a situation of stress and/or limited vision (such as a dark movie theatre) rather than shooting bystanders.

Can anybody recommend a good gym in Capetown that does weekly (or day) passes for visitors ?

I will be in the Waterfront district, so ideally around there or easy to get to from there. I don't plan to rent a car, so walking or public transport.

Some marketing/branding genius found a way to make a lot of money by creating a brand and cashing in on franchise fees.

But as these schemes tend to work and people are gullible, gyms and trainers have to ask themselves whether they should offer it or not - as a growing number of members ask for it....

That type of exercises and the intensity is suitable for athletes (sprinters, hurdlers, long jumpers etc have always trained that way), but could be dangerous for a person who has never done any sports or workout.

A novice to training who wants to get fit is much better served by starting with a circuit of good old favorites, like rope skipping, high knee running on the spot, push-ups, chins, lunges, bodyweight squats etc - but there is little money to be made there...

There are loads of great cities.

In no particular order I love and could live in all of these: London, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Atlanta, Christchurch (New Zealand), Hong Kong, Accra (Ghana), Berlin, Rio de Janeiro, Miami, Brussels plus there are probably a handful more that did not spontaneously come to mind.

Heard that Capetown is superb as well, but haven't had the opportunity to visit.

A little surprised though that there are laws that cover drunk driving but not drunk handling of loaded fire arms.
