Funny that you mention supplement companies and FDA...here is another thought could the ALR mess have been the last straw?

I'm wondering if the ALR mess could have been the last straw. I mean ALR is John's buddy and he hasn't ever minced words about that. The mag pretty much gave ALR free ad space in the interview and then the "banned" substance issue in the supps popped up. At some point a business owner needs to look at what they are representing and maybe Steve felt he need to break away to get things cleaned up a little.

I'm not saying ALR was right or wrong. I'm not saying Steve is right or wrong. But when I read the Feb. 2009 issue and saw the huge amount of space ALR was given. It set off some warning signals in my mind.

I think "Tofurkey" is a curse word.

I agree about Jay retiring.  His body just doesn't seem to be responding the way it once did.  I've always gotten the feeling from Jay that BB is a means to an end for him.  Not the way Ronnie approached it.  Coleman had a lot more passion for what he was doing regardless of the toll on his health (at least from a perception).  I think Ronnie's body still responded well to the protocols it was just wearing out. 

Jay seems to know the score and what it's doing to him.  He will get out while the getting is good.

Then again, BB's have a warped sense of self at times.

So I guess the next question is how many times will Dex compete in 2009?  I wonder if he's going to do the stupid 1 show a year deal.  Will Jay do the AC in 2009 or is he going to hole up in Vegas and finish the job of ending his career?

I've done this as well.  The one thing you notice is how much extra time you have.  Eating takes a lot of time...even if you eat fast.  During my fast I was cold all the time after the 3rd day.  I was covering up with blankets and this was in July when I did my fast.

I agree and that's the point I was trying to make.  She is not so pre-occupied with self.  Just seems like Jay and his wife treat it like a business and don't appear to get caught up in the self centered and self love fest that can be bodybuilding.

More impressed that his wife looks like a normal person and not some plastic bimbo.  I give props to Jay for having a semi-normal life and not trying to be some thugged out gangsta pimp.  Save and invest that money while you can.
