agreed it sounds like the govt is totally trying to screw over the working man.  No doubt there.

I just the guy going irate over the govt's choice of weapons is a little dramatic.  If I'm a LEO and my job is to move 300 cattle off a land while this guy is screaming about waco... yeah... I'm bringing more than a 9mm and a smile.

Hopefully the national coverage will get the attention - and now we see dems knee deep in corruption behind it?  makes sense.

This man’s family has raised cows on this land since 1877. They paid taxes on it and it was theirs to use until the Federal Government decided to force them off it so it could be turned into a reserve for tortoises Roll Eyes. This rancher was forced to pay an extra tax in order to be allowed to graze cattle on the land. He finally said he wasn’t going to pay a grazing fee to the same outfit which has been trying to roust him off of his land. It felt as if he was giving them money with which to fight him. It doesn’t seem to matter to the government that those tortoises have survived generations of buffalo grazing those same grasslands. The tortoises don’t need protection from the feet of cows when larger buffalo feet didn’t do them in. They are not in any danger of going extinct. The government just wants the land and any excuse will do.

Dude doesn't pay his bills for 20 years, totaling $1.1million,

His family has been on this land since the 1800's, the fees only began in 1993 (no federal fee's prior) as a way for the Federal Government to run off the Ranchers even though prior to that it was State land, not Federal.  I mean honestly 240, have u seen photos of the land? do you really think a Rancher could afford to pay that amount of fees for land with not much grass? It's not possible which is exactly why the Fed's put it in place in 1993, they knew that it wouldn't be profitable for any Rancher to pay it, therefore running off the Ranchers (the Fed's true motive) who had been there for many years.

7  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / ObamaCare Defender Forced to Try ObamaCare says, “I Feel Like a Dupe”. on: March 21, 2014, 09:13:26 AM

William Rivers Pitt was Dennis Kucinich’s press secretary. He co-wrote a book with notorious pedophile and Saddam cover-up artist Scott Ritter.

He’s also an editor at left-wing site TruthOut. Not too long ago he was an enthusiastic cheerleader for ObamaCare, writing, “If you’re one of the people fighting the Affordable Care Act, wouldn’t it be an example of enlightened, conservative self-interest to make sure this law is as robust as can be?”

“The ACA makes sure your insurance company can’t shaft you if your inevitable illness becomes too expensive for their balance sheet,” Pitt assured conservatives.

That was last year. This year Pitt tried ObamaCare. His response was enthusiastic and unprintable.

“F__ you, insurance industry. F___ you, Mr. President, you piece of s___t used-car salesman. F___ my heart and soul, fuck you.”

Most learn too late:

The best way to discredit the left’s policies is to actually live under them without any bubbles, any gated communities, distant bedroom suburbs, exemptions, escape clauses and other distancing mechanisms.

9  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / History repeating? Putin annexes Crimea 76 years after Hitler annexed Austria on: March 18, 2014, 05:29:48 PM
On March 13, 1938 — exactly seventy-six years ago this week — German dictator Adolf Hitler annexed Austria after sending Nazi military forces in to invade the country.

To give the illegal action a veneer of respectability, Hitler ordered a national referendum in Austria, and on April 10th, Austrians approved Hitler’s “Anschluss” (annexation) with a vote of 99.7% in favor.

Now, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has successfully launched his own “Anschluss” of Crimea. He sent Russian military forces in to invade the country. Then he orchestrated a national referendum in the southern Ukrainian region, and got a vote of nearly 97% in favor.

Today, in a speech in Moscow, Putin formally announced the annexation of Crimea. Read excerpts of the speech here.

“In our hearts we know Crimea has always been an inalienable part of Russia,” Putin said in a major address to the Russian parliament.

The problem is that so far there has been no serious response to Putin’s moves. Nor was there when he invaded Georgia in 2008. Nor was there when he sold arms and nuclear technology to the terrorist regime of Iran. Or when he sold arms to the bloodthirsty regime of Bashar Assad amidst the horrific war Assad is waging in Syria that has forced 42% of the Syrian people to flee their homes and has left more than 140,000 people dead.

Have we really forgotten the lessons of Hitler and the Holocaust so quickly?

To be clear, there is no evidence Putin is Hitler in the sense that he is building concentration camps and planning a “Final Solution” to annihilate the Jewish people. But Putin wants to be a Czar. He wants to restore the glory of Mother Russia. He wants to rebuild what was lost when the Soviet Union imploded. He sees the West full of “Neville Chamberlains,” leaders who are weak and indecisive. And he is on the move. This is what makes him so dangerous.

————————-

HISTORY WORTH REMEMBERING: Consider this summary from the Encyclopedia Britannica: “In July 1934 Austrian and German Nazis together attempted a coup but were unsuccessful. An authoritarian right-wing government then took power in Austria and kept perhaps half the population from voicing legitimate dissent; that cleavage prevented concerted resistance to the developments of 1938. In February 1938 Hitler invited the Austrian chancellor. Kurt von Schuschnigg to Germany and forced him to agree to give the Austrian Nazis virtually a free hand. Schuschnigg later repudiated the agreement and announced a plebiscite on the Anschluss question. He was bullied into canceling the plebiscite, and he obediently resigned, ordering the Austrian Army not to resist the Germans. President Wilhelm Miklas of Austria refused to appoint the Austrian Nazi leader. Arthur Seyss-Inquart as chancellor. The German Nazi minister Hermann Göring ordered Seyss-Inquart to send a telegram requesting German military aid, but he refused, and the telegram was sent by a German agent in Vienna. On March 12 Germany invaded, and the enthusiasm that followed gave Hitler the cover to annex Austria outright on March 13. A controlled plebiscite of April 10 gave a 99.7 percent approval.”

When did Kosovo become part of the United States?   Roll Eyes

Once again Putin is full of it as usual, as what he has done in Ukraine is nothing like Kosovo, but it is like what Hitler did in 1939 by taking Austria in a land grab.

after that first debate, romney had him on the ropes... weak, tired, looking deflated.  I Just don't know what happened to change things at that point.

Romney really should be president right now.  I dont know how he'd handle it all that differently... I mean, bush/obama ain't that much different, to be honest, so romney would have been more of the same, I think.

That's an odd statement to make considering you voted for Obama twice....

he lost to the most beatable candidate since 1980.

he underachieved on a hilarious level by continually putting foot in mouth.

he should have won 42 states, honestly.  Obama had obamacare hanging around his neck, he was tired and looked like shit.  Romney looked like president and had 6 straight years of campaigning & infrastructure building behind him.

Romney lost because he was the kid that always sought approval... he tried to be cool instead of just accepting his role was to be the uncool guy that got shit done. Singing "Who let the dogs out" and mocking the 47% in a hidden camera video... dude just tried too hard to please everyone.

Didn't you vote for Obama twice?

The US has made lots of promises it has no intention of keeping

I guess a promise these days is worthless...

1994: Bill Clinton promised with signature to protect Ukraine if it gave up most of its Nuclear weapons and basically gutted its Military.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2570335/Former-British-Ambassador-Moscow-warns-Russia-invaded-Ukraine-difficult-avoid-going-war.html

2005: Senator Obama pushed a bill that helped destroy more than 15,000 TONS of ammunition, 400,000 small arms and 1,000 anti-aircraft missiles in Ukraine, even further gutting most of the ammunition stockpiles – crucial for keeping a standing army battle-ready – were destroyed.

2009: United States re-affirms the 1994 agreement to protect and defend Ukraine. its not that simple... theyre not under attack.... their citizens got sick and started a revolution..... the citizens are the ones wanting to join Russia

Shockwave I usually agree with you on here and like reading your post but you are wrong this time, and yes it is that simple, Crimea is part of Ukraine, and even Russia agreed (with England and Us) to this when they signed the Budapest Memorandum to protect Ukraine's borders.

I don't like Treaties, and I don't care for Bill Clinton, but he was our President at the time, and signed it, and if You make a promise you keep it, Ukraine had prior to the Treaty the 3rd largest amount of Nuclear weapons to protect themselves, and basically gave it up on the promise of Bill Clinton to protect them via the treaty (Obama re-affirmed this Protection in 2009) and if you want out of the Treaty then you give an ample amount of time prior to breaking the agreement, so the other Country can take other measures to protect themselves, you don't wait until the other Country has been invaded to decide you don't want to keep your word. Putin is a thug, and invaded Crimea not to protect anyone, but to take the land, plain and simple.
17  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: President of Crimea mocks Obama over twitter w photoshopped pics on: March 17, 2014, 04:37:16 PM
A question, if I may.

What does America have to do with the Crimea? Why the sanctions and pushing themselves on the forefront for a piece of land that they didn't know existed a week ago? Why the anger on something that doesn't influence them in the slightest?

It's called keeping your promise.

We promised to protect Ukraine’s borders, in return for Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons. Our word (our promise) was given in 1991 by Bill Clinton that we would do so via the Budapest Memorandum. The agreement sees signatories promise to protect Ukraine's borders, It was signed by Bill Clinton (USA), John Major(England), Boris Yeltsin and Leonid Kuchma in 1991. You make a promise you keep it.

Texas Voters Take A Stand: 9 out of 10 Want Obamacare Repealed and Welfare Recipients Drug Tested

Texas-Takes-Stand

Just because one part of the country has seemingly lost its mind and is willing to give up their freedom for the promise of more security doesn’t mean everyone is on board.

In Texas, where voters took to the polls Tuesday night, a completely different set of ideas is at play. And if nationwide sentiment is any indication, other conservative and libertarian leaning states will soon follow.

Though only about half of the votes have been tallied so far, the people of Texas have spoken. It’s a roar, in fact. Voters are standing in unison and have overwhelmingly approved a variety of propositions that may well send shivers down the spines of supporters of things like universal health care, rampant welfare dependency, special privileges and gun rights.

The following results speak for themselves.

First on the chopping block is the Patient Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as Obamacare. Apparently, 93% of Texans don’t take well to having the federal government mandate what they should or shouldn’t buy with the penalty for non-compliance being IRS harassment and prison time.

Yeah but nobody takes anything Biden says seriously.

I agree, but Biden was speaking on behalf of the United States, and re-affirmed the 1994 promise to protect Ukraine. This was not some off the cuff remark but an Official Speech on behalf of the United States

The USA is either a Nation that keeps its promise, or we are not.

We promised to protect Ukraine’s borders, in return for Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons, plain and simple, would be the same thing if the libs succeeded in everyone losing the right to own a gun, and then when someone enters your home to steal and hurt you, you then call the police and they say sorry, we are not coming to help you.

You make a promise you keep it.
23  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Should the US send troops into Ukraine? on: March 03, 2014, 03:10:07 PM
You can't renege on international treaties. We took the one thing that would prevent an invasion away from them in exchange for protection. We're not sending troops anyway.

But you default on the small shit, it emboldens people like the Chinese to maybe try for those Jap islands they want. We're not running out on the Japs...Congress would force Obama's hand and it would be the shortest impeachment trial in history. It would a race between what would happen first...a carrier getting to japan or Obama packing his shit and vacating the whitehouse. This can all be avoided if Obama appears strong on the little stuff.

England also agreed and signed the 1994 budapest memorandum, so now is the time to keep the agreement, and if Putin cuts off the gas to England then so be it, a promise is a promise, now its time to do what is needed before its too late, and if that includes troops (which hopefully it wont) then so be it.

You make a promise you keep it.

I've heard a lot of "Obama sucks!" about this Russian mess... About ten of those threads now.  Maybe fifteen.

So what's the answer?   I'm not asking, "What did obama do wrong?"...  I'm asking what the solution to this mess is.

Russians are in there... do we send in our own troops?  And if so, WHY?  Cause oil prices are affected by who puts in a puppet regime into Ukraine?

I would hope that would not be needed, but if it is then the answer is YES, as our word (our promise) was given in 1994 by Bill Clinton that we would do so via the 1994 Budapest memorandum. The agreement sees signatories promise to protect Ukraine's borders, It was signed by Bill Clinton, John Major, Boris Yeltsin and Leonid Kuchma in 1994.
