1  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Str8 Up Saturday Night Beasting like a boss- Just won 3525.00 on: January 05, 2014, 06:04:35 AM
how is whitley bay nightlife these days. Havent been for a night out there in 7 years or so.

It sucks. After the recession it really went down and people now venture to tynemouth up the coast.

Or stay in.

A lot of the old bars are being converted to flats

Being from the UK myself I find this very amusing.

It's actually the sort of Saturday I crave for.

Last night I rolled around in my ford focus smoking a Gudang garam listening to pet shop Boys.

No hot tail could be seen in whitley bay
3  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Training Q&A / Routine help please on: December 07, 2013, 01:36:49 PM
Hello I was wondering if I could get some useful advice here on perhaps improving my routine. I follow an upper pull, upper push and lower routine spread over 3 days. The format in general is the first 3 exercises are compound multijoint, followed by a body weight component and lastly the occasional body building exercise chucked in. My BW exercises i progress by decreasing rest periods as my endurance improves. I'm keen to progress in strength on the first 3 exercise and currently employ sets in the 5 rep range.

A sample upper pull workout is:
Power component
Power cleans 3 x 5
Deadlifts 3 x 5
High pulls 3 x 5

Bodyweight component
Muscle ups 3 x 5
Chins 3 x 10
Pull ups 3 x 10

"Hypertrophy component"
Upright row 3 x failure

Would periodisation be worthwhile? Dropping the reps to 3 on the power exercises?

Any advice much appreciated

5  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Training Q&A / Re: Good push exercise for low repetitions on: October 09, 2012, 02:33:27 PM
Yes i have tried the one press with a slight push with the legs.

Much more fun than the seated db press
6  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Training Q&A / Good push exercise for low repetitions on: October 09, 2012, 12:51:58 PM
hello, just a preface to this request. Im looking for a suitable push exercise that can be performed in the lower rep range. My workouts are currently a combination of heavy multi compound exercises and body weight exercises - ive forgone using bodybuilding rep range protocols and now just perform more functional exercises.

During my push workouts i perform flat bench (5 x 5) and push press (5 reps also) and then follow up with handstand pressups, ring dips, hindu pressups, dips etc but i would like a 3rd free weight exercise also.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.
7  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Training Q&A / Re: Very intense workouts on: May 07, 2012, 04:31:23 AM
Thank you for your suggestions. I remember reading about PHA when i was much younger, i will read up on it again.

I ve found high rep giant sets very taxing, such as barbell rows - deadlifts - barbell shrugs all for 20 reps each in continuous fashion, mentally taxing and that what i would like to do more of. My current routine is a 3 day split push, pull and lower workouts that follow a set format of the first 2 exercises being CNS, functional compounds (high sets, low reps), 2 bodyweight exercises afterwards (chins, dips, handstand pressups) and then lastly 2 bodybuilding type exercises that focus on structural hypertrophy (6 - 8 reps). Its a good routine that develops balanced growth but i'd like to really up the ante once a month when i break off from my standard routine.

8  Getbig Bodybuilding Boards / Training Q&A / Very intense workouts on: May 06, 2012, 06:39:17 AM
Can anyone give me some suggestions for some very intense workouts to try. Every 4 weeks or so I break from my normal routine and try to shock my body. Id like the idea of a workout perhaps that placed great cardiovascular demand on my body as well as total body fatigue so one incorporating compund exercises perhaps. Giant sets are good I ve found and I have tried Tabata training also.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

incredible arms
11  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: who had better arms? on: November 07, 2009, 11:48:57 AM
Dorian's arms are only lousy to you because he didn't use SEOs in his arms like a lot of bodybuilders  Roll Eyes Nasser, levrone, flex wheeler lol what do they all have in common  Roll Eyes
Your idea of proportion is based on synthol, esicelene and the bodybuilder's obsession with arm size hahaha or the reducing to his arms to the state they were post injury to biceps tendon

nonsense and completely unfounded

wheres your evidence?

and how you explain superior arm development exhibited by competitors long before dorians reign
12  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: who had better arms? on: November 07, 2009, 11:47:05 AM
both sets are abysmal by pro standards but kamalis are far worse than dorians

considering the position dorian occupied during his bodybuilding career, his arms should have been much better, not just his biceps but also his undersized triceps replete with genetically poor shape.

kamali is dogshit full stop and was never a contender
13  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Did Ronnie Coleman Really Bench Press 225 LBS 72 Times? on: November 01, 2009, 01:44:35 AM

He only did 8 or 9 full reps while the rest are partial..

so the truth is 63/2 = 32 reps + 9 = 41 reps!!

theres not a single good rep there

theryre not even half reps

add the fact he's boucing the weight and theres no way he can claim 72 reps

watching football can be unbearably boring

ardent fans will say the close goals and the excitement and oooo and ahhh of the odd goal makes up for it but in reality it doesn't.

90mins where the ball for the large majority of time is literally passed backwards and forwards is not my idea of entertainment

and another problem with football is the fans. Over here in england teh majority of them are what we call - scum.

Football - gentlemen's game played by thugs

Rugby - thugs game played by gentlemen
23  Getbig Main Boards / General Topics / Re: When did this became a sex symbol ? on: October 11, 2009, 07:32:54 AM
its shocking

a recent study is purporting that its down to use of the pill thats casuing women to find younger more boysih men attractive. Apparently during ovulatin they are attracted to masculine men but use of the pill precludes any ovulation hence they no longer are attracted to this type

but to be fair jusup wilkosz could never be considered a sex symbol

whats the other dudes name?
