Your response to exercise is genetic.
Also, I assume people have common sense concerning what they eat.
I agree that fatsos that go to a buffet after their 25 mins gym sessions will get fat.
I'm just saying that those who workout hard and efficiently have more room for error with what they eat.

Weed is good here in MTL.
When smoking was still allowed indoors, used to smoke often in bars and clubs.
If you're cool with the owners, managers, they used to not care.
People in Canada don't get too silly over a harmless drug.

This thread is utter nonsense. When I was younger and smoked a lot, I decided to try to work out high a few times and it was a nightmare. Not only does it fuck up your breathing and make it impossible to concentrate, but it elevates your heart rate and decreases your energy at the same time.

The only possible advantage to smoking would be post workout if you want to increase your appitite, or if your skinny and want to put on weight. But in both cases, I find it hard to believe that getting the munchies would make you want to binge on anything except junk food.

I highly doubt that there are guys in great shape smoking weed after a workout and then jonesing for skinless chicken breasts and brown rice.

If you're not a genetic loser, you should be able to eat anything you want if you workout hard enough.

If you don't smoke or think it's for losers, then what are you doing in this thread?
I usually stay clear of things i disagree with, instead of bringing negative energy.

Maybe you should make threads that denounce coffee, cigarettes, booze, aspirin and anti-depressants instead.

I forgot to mention that I live in Montreal.
Marijuana laws are very lax.
You don't get in trouble even if you get caught.
No ticket or fine.

BTW if you're doing something that is wrong or illegal, do it discreetly.  Usually, those who don't bring attention to themselves don't get caught.

no loud music and keep the joint low.

Hot box, then lower your windows to get rid of smoke.
you should be able to do this if you have your own car.

Shouldn't have to teach common sense.

Smoking marijuana & working out:

1)  Smoke in car on the way to the gym.
This way, you don't have to worry about not getting there.
Also, if you don't have a car, you should save that joint for post workout.

2)  Smoke only for small muscles groups on high volume training days.
Triceps, biceps & shoulders
High volume sets allows for stricter technique when lifting and better contractions of muscles.
Heavy low volume sets makes strict range of motion more difficult, thus more swinging and use of other body parts for compensation.
Most exercises that strain the core, dilutes the high, therefore does not allow you to maintain the ideal "zone" for workout
(Also, weed makes boring repetitive motions more tolerable)

3) Weed is a natural pain killer
It is prescribed to people with chronic pain; it allows for a higher tolerance of discomfort.
This is why the high volume sets are ideal

4)  Smoke post workout to promote appetite
Weed makes people hungry (duh)
Also, relaxing and pain killing properties of MJ allows for better and quicker recovery.

These are my principles due to experience.
I acknowledge that not all people are react to MJ the same way, so results may vary
MJ amplifies what is already there; lazy people will still be lazy.

To reduce excess bodyfat and attain a "shredded" physique, one most understand the key concepts to lipid storage regulation. I have broken the stages into 3 important points that are easy to remember and follow.

1. Overall Calorie Reduction
2. Macronutrient Timing
3. Cardiovascular Training

Lets take a deeper look into these 3 points to understand what they entail.

1. Overall Calorie Reduction
Reduce your caloric intake by 500 calories per day so that you are eating 3500 less calories per week. One pound of fat carries 3500 stored calories, so assuming your resistance training and diet is in order, you should be shedding 1lb of fat per week. Any more than 1lb lost per week and you are losing muscle mass.

2. Macronutrient Timing
You need to keep consuming 1g of protein per 3-4lbs of bodyweight to maintain lean muscle mass especially during caloric restrictions. Time your carbohydrates to use them only when needed since excess carbs are stored as fat, 30g preworkout and 30g post workout is enough. Eliminate simple sugars since they spike blood glucose levels, causing hunger and they signal the body to store macronutrients in the form of lipids. Continue avoiding trans fats and hydrogenated fats since they are associated with heart disease.

3. Cardiovascular Training
Perform 20 minutes of high intensity cardiovascular training on the equipment of your choosing immediately after your workout (consume post workout carbs and protein after cardio). 20 minutes will keep the body's muscle wasting mechanisms from kicking in and performing it post resistance training when the body's preferred fuel source, glycogen, is exhausted will force the body to utilize energy from stored fat.

If you follow these 3 easy steps, you will develop a lean and much more impressive physique in just a few short months depending your level of bodyfat now.

Many Americans sign up for the military to try to make the US than the world a better place.
For most, the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan is not what they agree with.
However, you can't just leave the military because you have different views than those in charge.

I don't see how anyone can call US soldiers cowards.
They do their jobs in a dangerous volatile place where thousands if not millions want them dead.

Have you noticed that the "WARS" the US have participated in are never fought on US soil.
And whenever terrorist attack (Pearl Harbour / 911) whole cities are reduced to ruble.

Also, have you noticed that the US is always at the heart of relief efforts in the events of disaster. (minus NO)

I love the US and I'm Canadian.
The US should be FEARED and RESPECTED.
The people who don't fall under those 2 categories are just plain stupid.

The reason the US has the best athletes is because of slavery and their capitalistic approach to sports.
200 yrs of slavery trying to create the strongest and fastest African American worker, gives the US a huge genetic advantage.
US gold medals = Black guys, Michael Phelps and those two female gymnasts.

Could you image if China and their 1.3 billion population were breeding their offsprings with only athletic superiority in mind?

The most important number is the total in medals. About half the gold medals China has are from sports that require judges.  Being the home country, I am surprised they don't have more judges in their pockets. 

USA track and field is criticized, yet how many medals does China have in that sport?

If you have really competed in anything before, you would know full well that silver medallists are NOT happy to get the silver, but extremely devasted that they lost the gold.  People go to the Olympics to represent their country and to show the world they are the BEST in their discipline. 

Last time I checked, getting silver and bronze didn't mean you were the best at anything.

CHINA WON the Olympics!  Hands Down!

5'10 at 175 and 16.5" arms

not huge but as a natural ectomorph i dont have to worry about having saggy muscles and loose skin when I go through a period of not working out.

And thank you about the abs comment, surely I dont have to tell u the importance of a strong defined core?

I dont workout to compete, I workout to maintain a healthy look.  I am perfectly content w/ making small controlled improvements over time.

Many people who workout are really insecure and workout just so they can disrespect smaller people at the gym or people who dont live a health and fitness lifestyle.

So sad, why can't people just be happy with their gains and mind their own business

Lets be serious for a second and just try to visualize the correct answer.

The only people that can pull off the tank top look are good athletes and people with cut arms.
Arm size does not matter if they are not conditioned to the point that there are visible separation between the muscle bellies.

Why do big out of shape guys think they are the only ones that have the rights to the sleeveless look?
Get cut but until then hit the cardio w/ a sweater!
