all the experts at the show have pretty much the same top 6.

everyone is always saying everythig is fixed but its not its just most of the fans dont know how to judge a physique if their life depended on it.

The 2007 Mr Olympia is shaping up to be a bit of a disappointment standard-wise and if I was one of those fans who had paid $500 for a VIP seat I wouldn't be very happy.

I don't blame you Vince. You got fucked over bad. Threatening to hit a woman isn't cool, but you definitely got fucked over on this. I guess money is more important than the community here. Funny how Ron made this site and doesn't make money from it(that I know of), yet it is all about money lately. I am not just talking about the contest, but the constant spammers, kicking out the smaller sponsors who made the show what is was in the first place etc. That's why it is hard to put a few people in charge of an event and call it Mr. Getbig, this sure as hell doesn't seem like "Mr. Getbig" to me. 5 grand to turn your back on the people who make this place what it is? Doesn't seem worth it to me.

Speaking in a interview with Complex magazine earlier this week, the star criticized U.S. TV networks for "promoting homosexuality" - and insisted children should not be exposed to images of gay couples.

Here's what I'd do if I ran the Olympia ......  How bout YOU!?

If I ran the Oly, I'd invite 90 of the biggest "expert", GetBig members (and you guys can pick just who they are), divide them into ten groups of 9 men/women each, sit them up front as close to the official Judging table as possible, give them a pencil and a score sheet, and let each group of nine "GetBig Test Officials" judge the event during the Friday Night "prejudging" as they see fit.

Once the prejudging is finished, an "official or team of officials" as designated by the GetBig members (I recommend none other than Ron and/or Chick and/or myself who appear to be the most honest and intelligent  and knowledgeable GetBig members presently available) would compute the individual scores as submitted by each of the nine-member GetBig Judging Panels.

The judging panel that comes closest to the Official Judging Panel final results would henceforth be invited to participate as the "unofficial judging panel" at all future IFBB events held within the US during the following 12 month time period.

The expenses (transportation, hotel, meals, and $80 a day spending money) would be paid by GetBig contributors, IFBB monies, and any interested sponsors.

This would help to alleviate numerous claims that an event is "fixed" or possibly even provide evidence to the contrary.

This is an original idea and can be remolded to benefit all involved if thought out  and administered properly.

Based on my passed experience, those who complain the loudest regarding the results of any BB contest; usually are teh first to change their mind when given the opportunity to sit in as a "non-official judge". We used to call them "Test Judges" and many of them would simply throw there hands up in the air half way through a contest because of the difficulty of the expenience in the process.

From that point on, they rarely complained.

You're right.  As someone who trained with Manny as a very very young man Manny discourages weight training unless it's something you do as a hobby outside of your boxing training.  I know he discourages from lifting when you get very close to a fight.

Strength will always be more important than technique, because technique is useless without the muscle to apply it.
What good is it teaching a man martial arts if he's built like a woman?
Utterly useless.
At a certain point, no amount of technique will overcome strength.
The reverse is not true.

Again:
*You can beat up your kid brother no matter how much fight training he has.
*Fight organisations have many weight classes to protect the fighters.
*Most of the current boxing champs are giants that rely on brute force and limited skill.
*The current K-1 champ is a giant
*Bob Sapp beat the K-1 Champion TWICE relying only on brute force.
*All serious MMA fighters do strength training
*Many fighters likely take steroids
*Many suspect Cro Cops failure in the UFC is due to "lack of substances" (I'm paraphrasing Kongo)

Maybe you guys still think Bruce Lee was the greatest fighter in the world?
