Questions about protein powder/vitimans/creatine
« on: January 02, 2007, 12:40:02 PM »
Hi all, I was just wondering about a few things. I'm 28 & 6 foot tall & a little overweight but not by much. I'm not sure of my exact weight (im a 34 inch waist) & have been lifting weights religously for about a month. (5 nights a week or more, different muscle groups)

1. I am not getting the protein I need from college meals & was wondering which is the best protein powder to get. Is this one OK?  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140067394960&rd=1&rd=1 Would these 15 kilos be 300 servings? So this would be a 100 day supply if I took 3 shakes a day? (seems expensive) Should I aim to eat any particuar foods with this? The food I normally get is junkfood & fries, is it that important to be eating potatoes and vegatbles & lean meat? Should I still try to eat foods with protein or will the shakes be enough?

2. Should I take Creatine too? If so, can someone reccomend to me a brand that I can get of E-bay as I live in the U.K & might not be able to order internationly, but theres a small chance I might be able too.

2. I'm getting hardly any fruit or vegtables, can someone reccomend vitamins or a brand of vitimans or a daily amount of which I should aim for?

3.I dont get much time to do any cardio, is this a bad thing? Should I aim to lose my body fat as quick as possible or would my extra few pounds be helpfull in any way?

4. What about carbs? Any reccomendations on how much I should be getting?

5. How important is water? At the moment im probally only drinking a pint or 2 & this is with coffee.

Thanks for any info given, its really appreciated. I know its probally well documented on this site but.. I need to hear it from someone then i'll take positive action. Happy new year everybody!

I have a terrible time getting protein from my college meals, too. Everything is fried or carbs. I just cook up chicken breasts and some beef once a week and chow down on it.
