Their story is being made into a movie called "Breaking Vegas" based on Ben Mezrich's really good book called "Bringing Down the House".

Cool stuff.

How many like the movie "Rounders"?

Rounders is one of the best movies ever made. Then again, I love poker.

I've been to Foxwoods once. It's 1.5 hours from me and I don't throw around 300-400 when I play. I like to keep it to $20 buy-in games and around there so I just clean up with my friends at home. Much easier to make money against people who suck.   :o

if you are good, taking 100 bucks and playing in the 2-5 table wouldnt hurt that much...I play the buy in tourney games during the holidays with my family...it gets intense...then i go to my boys house and play somemore and smoke blunts and drink till the wee hours.....

Counting cards is not as hard as it looks.  I was "asked" to leave an indian casino once though.  They let me keep my money (like 300 bux, not much) but politely asked that i leave.  I do fucking hate poker though.  Over_RATED

Overrated? What does that even mean? As a spectator sport, I can understand someone not liking it. I can understand people not liking to play, also. But please tell me what is overrated about having five figure weeks?

It was just so lame how popular it got, what with it being on ESPN and such.  I'll admit, it takes skill, but it is a game of luck no matter what anyone says.

i absolutely stone cold agree with this statement--i play 7 days a week online and live--there is obviously skill more than luck, but I have seen some ass lucky suckouts with the worst cards in too many times.

i once dated an italian man who was banned from Monte Carlo.  He opened a restaurant in Toronto instead.

and the best tattoo I've ever seen is the Ace of Spades on the inner forearm (that was recently.  You have to wear a rolled up sleeve to go with it.

i saw a news item recently about a teenager putting himself thru uni playing 10 games online at a time and winning thousands.

My normal game is No Limit with a $1000 cap buy in. I usually play 4-6 tables at a time while online. When I play live, I'll play in a 10-25 uncapped game, or sometimes in the 5/10 capped at $1500.

I started out as a limit player, but progressed into NL (no limit) when I found my winrate was much higher.

I also play in a local 20/40 stud game twice a week, and sometimes Omaha Hi/Lo gets thrown in there too. I enjoy Omaha but make more money at stud, as there are much more large errors made in stud. In Omaha, yer never really THAT far behind LOL.

Lame to watch? Yes. Lame to play because you saw it on TV, so you put on a hoodie and sunglasses and act cool? Yeah, definitely. However, this trend has allowed me to start two businesses, buy a house, and two cars.

Lame?
