i would say peter jacksons 'king kong' is by far the most amazing monster movie ever made..mind blowing special effects

agree on Jaws.

good movies no matter what have to have great characters and good acting. And you won't find better acting than that of Richard Dryfeuss, Roy Scheider and Robert Shaw in Jaws.

good special effects are not nearly enough by themselves.

very good movie.

Bride of Frankenstein was better though.

I have all the classics on dvd.

I used to read MONSTER  and FANGORIA mags when I was a kid, I wanted to be the next Lon Chaney.
