Never said Finnland was the same as Norway, I just know many folks from here who have ventured to Finnland and hated the place. BTW you know just as I do that Finnland isn't even a true scandinavian country you guys are acctually more russia\slavic - everyone from this area can understand each other and have a similar culture but Finnish\Soumi (SP?) isn't a true germanic-scandinavia language. Ok, so you are an exchange student picking up some Scandinavian education, and trying to give us a teenagers point of view to politics. Very nice, but you should get your facts right. First of all, if we look at Norway as a country, both Finn's and swedes laugh at them because they are a best joke in Scandinavia. They hate swedes and Finn's, because they have to look upwards to us. For example, what is the most important product which is fabricated in Norway? Fish fingers? Their only leading figure in comparison with other Scandinavian countries is number of wife beaters, because those they have more than anywhere in Scandinavia. They have high prices, just about most stupid alcohol regulations in the western world and just about nothing to do but fishing. I have spend few vacations there, so at least I have been in both countries.
You are saying that your government doesn't know shit about anything, but in the next sentence you are quoting some statistic which they have gather, and that you shouldn't do, because their statistic is shit. Why? Just because your census isn't accurate at all. How do you calculate accurate figures like GDP if your census tolerance is ± 10 000 000 people? If we look figures which have been provided from independent party, we see that our GDP is just about a same, which is funny because we don't have any oil to sell to make our figures higher. In fact, Finn's take higher places just about every study which is regarding wealth and prosperity of the people. USA may be great and rich country, but it doesn't mean anything in proportion to welfare of the people.
You want to talk about your education, and you point out that you have more Nobelist's than we have? For one citizen you have just about 0,000000613 Nobel laureates, when our figure is 0,000000570, so difference isn't so big, just 0,000000047 per citizen
On the other hand, we have education which guarantee us some basic skills, so 99.9% of the adult population can read and write at least two languages, knows basics of the math etc. In USA that figure is just about 85%, just in your own language, and to me it look kind a low. Our public schools- and occupational schools offers a high quality education to everyone without any fee. Only in our high schools have some fees, and you have to buy some books for yourself, but that is a minor cost.
Our unemployment rate is ridiculous? But it is clear that you don't why? Let me explain that to you; if I got kicked out from my job, and can't find a new one, what do you think will happen? I fill a form and mail it to my vocational organization, which start to pay me some income security for the unemployed, which for me would be like 2300€ per month. It is a lot less than my salary, but I can manage with that with no trouble at all. What I mean is that our social security is so good, that there is quite many people who doesn't even try to get a job, and that's why our figures look so big. How it is in USA? If you lost your job, what do you get ? Just about nothing...12% of Americans live below the poverty line, something like 1.5% of Finn's. Average wage in USA is 13.6$ and in Finland 14.65€ which is like 19$. How about that? Do you start to feel better? How about that astronaut? He could have fly with Russians, but for some reason he choose fly with NASA. He is a brave guy, because your shuttles are known about their tendency to blow up. Want to talk about corruption and brutality of the police forces? Drug problems? HIV-epidemic? What I mean is that you folks really need all guidance you can get, no matter if we talk about using dick's, guns, or steroid injections, because there isn't so many things which you can figure out by yourself
