i need your help getbiggers

my car was hit by a friend of a friend he wants to pay cash to fix it, thats fine with me. unfortunately i don't have another car and my g/f and i already share 1 car.
1. should he have to pay for the rental car cost?
2. if we went through insurance would they cover the rental car cost by law or regulation?

he should pay for the rental car.

he hit your car.

you should not have to be inconvenienced because of his mistake - thus, a rental car is needed.

normally, the insurance will pay for a rental car too.

my car was recently rear ended and the lady's insurance payed the $1700 damage for a whole new bumper PLUS the rental car for two days.

a pain in the ass, but his/her insurance will cover it if they choose.

otherwise, get them to pay out of pocket

Insurance WILL cover the rental for you and give you EXTRA cash if you specify your transportation costs.

Also, take your car to the highest possible estimate.

ya i got 3 estimated the highest was around 5000, the lowest 3500.  the guy wants to do it cash so i just wanted to make sure about the rental car thing if he dosent want to paty im gonna make him use insurance

Yep they will cover the rental, that shit happend to me few years ago. I got Allstate/ I dont know bout other insurance but Im sure they do.
