I am just going to keep bumping this until someone who knows about it replies. Bump.

I just scanned my Sergio article from the May '95 Ironman to post over at History, Stories & Memories and there is also an indepth interview with Steve Reeves where he talks all about his training. I'll scan that as well and post it over there.

SERGIO!!!!

He followed a fully body routine 3 times per week.  Started with the chest/back/shoulders/arms then down to the legs etc.... he did approx 3 sets per body part, sipped on his honey/lemon drink during his workout. Changed exercises frequently....I read this in an old MuscleMag...

Interesting. Everywhere I read he started with shoulders. That might be the reason why he had the best v-taper in history of the sport.

Musclemag said his order of exercises was based on his belief of the blood flow...you may be right - I read that approx 10 years ago...

shoulder press
side raises
upright row
wide grip flat bench
incline dumbbell press
flyes
chins behind
cable row
pullovers
incline dumbell curl (up to 10sets)
pushdown
one arm db lying extension across body
overhead dumbbell extension
parallel squat
barbell hack squat
1/2 deadlift
leg curl
calf raise

that was pretty much it might be wrong on a couple

Steve Reeves wasn't the biggest man, but he certainly had an awesome physique.

no he did 3 sets on everything but since he supposed only did incline curls for biceps he did up to 10 sets on that exercise...

guys..it never occured to you he changed his routine from time to time? i read alot about his training..and yes he did a full body routine starting with shoulders...and sometimes it was for 3 sets per exercises but also did the same routine with more sets..and he did various other routines (including split routines). I dont think full body routine is the best way tho as you cant get enough volume on each body part per session. Sure you get  higher freqeuncy with a 3 days a week full body routine..but in general split routines are better for bodybuilders.
