Michael Irvin replaced by Parcells at ESPN

Michael Irvin Shown the Door at ESPN

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Those words seem to ring true for Michael Irvin after he was let go by ESPN but also was elected the Professional Football Hall of Fame in Canton this year. The actions taken by ESPN are only a surprising in the fact that it took so long. Last winter, Irvin was found with a crack and a smoking pipe but the station only suspended him. This season, he made racially insensitive remarks regarding Dallas Cowboys Tony Romo.

Bill Parcells, the coaching legend who retired from the Cowboys this year, is set to join the cast at ESPN. He had worked at the station before coming back to the league.
