Also, has anyone heard of a free competition in Venice in May?

Los Angeles County Dept of Recreation has the Mr Muscle Beach and Mr Venice Beach contests on Memorial Day and on Independence Day, or the other way around.   They're held on Venice Beach and are free.

Ah, the OC, I've done twice!  Not going to make it this year though, are you competing??  Which class??

The OC is really a great NPC show, lots of high quality competitors, a good crowd and the sponsors go for it too. So lots to do and see. It is in Anaheim.

The competitons at "Muscle Beach" in Venice are on Memorial Day weekend, July 4th and Labor Day. It is free to attend but there is an entry fee to compete. On Memorial Day it can get pretty exciting, the last two years the show was opened with an F16 flyover. Good fun!
